Where does one go to find out more about what is offered at "adventures in stamping?" It might be something I would be interested in since I am in Ohio.
I will be there, it's my birthday present to myself!! It's always on my birthday weekend!! :~) I always plan on going both days - I haven't checked out the classes yet, but have attended a few of them and really enjoy them. I use Saturday for classes, fighting the crowds and looking around. Sunday is my day to roam around, make and take and buy what I saw on Saturday and didn't buy then. It helps to live in Akron and I buy my tickets at a LSS. You will enjoy your day for sure!
I take a road trip (6 hrs.) to Akron for Adventures in Stamping annually. I am from London, Ont. Canada and I have made this trip every year for the last six years. I took my SIL along last year and she won't let me go without her again this year. I managed to book one of the last few rooms available at the Quaker Inn, we will be spending three nights there (mini vacation!)
Me and my girlfriends will be going. We go every year. There is always a great variety of stamping companies there.
I've taken classes and words from the experienced. Be careful of the classes you go to.... I've taken some real duds (way to expensive for what you did and learned) and some real winners! Last year a took a class with Ted Cutts (owner of Stamper's Anonymous) and it was GREAT... You got lots of free stuff with the class and everyone won something. He's teaching it again - a tag background technique. I also took last year a class from Tattered Angels and it was fabulous.
So my advice - love the show floor and you'll need lots of $$$. Be careful of the classes some are fabulous and some are a waste of $$$.

...am looking forward to some vendors that were in nashville in years past...we have now become a stamping wasteland...:(...no shows, closest local store in clarksville and it is mostly scrap related...
There is a little stamping store in my hometown that is about 20-25 minutes away from the site of the convention. Here's the link to the store: http://www.thecottagestampers.com/. If you stop in, tell them that Sharon sent you (don't ask how we are on a first name basis!). I am really looking forward to this event. Last year there was so much to look at. I almost bought a two day ticket for this year, but decided that would be asking for trouble!

Pooo! I can't go this year. I'm pregnant and due in April, so the timing is off for me. I've gone every year though and it is soooooo worth it! I'll definitely miss going this year! I'll be thinking of all the fun everyone is having! I'll either be too big and uncomfortable to waddle around, or cuddling with my new baby!
I never knew there was a stamp store in Hartville! They need to advertise, I would have been there months ago. It is on 619, is it near the Flea market?
I will be there in Akron, along with a friend or 2. It will be my first time!!
There is a stamp store in Hartville - I didn't know that either!
I have a store to recommend for you - it's a little ways from Hartville - In Amherst Ohio - Stamplistic - it's the best stamp store I think we have - It's really big and focuses on stamping!!! Lots of stamps, inks and products for stampers!

I am not sure where Amherst is, I am about 20 miles south of Hartville. I know Amherst is North, I think between Akron and Cleveland, would that be right? Is it right off I77?
Okay I must admit, I have a really big weakness, it is directions, I can loose my sense of direction very easily, so Amherst will have to be a trip I take with a friend, I have have a cyber buddy coming in April for the stamp show... so maybe we can "explore"
The LSS I talked about is the Cottage Stamper in Hartville, even though I'm in Akron. It is in the general area of the market, a little east of it, same side of the street. I don't get there as often as I would like, but Linda has lots of good things, I can always pick up something I'm looking for. That is where I get me April tickets. I have also taken a couple of her classes.
In addition to the stamp store in Hartville (Cottage Stampers), I like to visit the stamp store in Smithville (Toyrifix) and the one located in historical Zoar (The Stamp Pad). I just found out about a new one in Medina (Bee Scrappy). I'm sure if you google the names you can get directions!

Yes! It's practically next door!

I plan on going. I've been there the past 2 years although I see Sparkle n sprinkle and Vippies are not listed:( anyone know why? Also you have to go to Hollo's papercraft store in Brunswick ohio if you need envelopes, CHEAP card stock by the lb. plus they have lots of other supplies too.
I just ordered my advance tickets and also signed up for a Tim Holtz class and I am sooooo looking forward to it.
I also took Ted Cutts class from Stampers Anonymous last year and like Kathy I really enjoyed it along with all the freebies.
Thats great Kat...I will be sure to look you up there. I am just taking the first class of the morning (9-11am) as Friday is the day my SIL and I do alot of our shopping (i.e. Hollos, Pat Catans etc.)
What vendors are you all excited to see? Our Daily Bread was the only one that really thrilled me...I went a couple years ago but many of the vendors I wanted to see again aren't listed :(

Tim Holtz it teaching a class? I didn't see that last time I went to the website. I will have to talk to my friend and see if she would like to do that.
I plan on attending. Thiswill be my third year. I am not sure if I will take any classes. I always spend too much time and money in the DeNami Designs booth. I love the Mimis.
Thies year I will focus on finding some horse stamps. I just can't find horse stamps anywhere.
I have always gone on Saturday. Is Sunday less crowded?

Pia - Sunday is definitely less crowded. We use to go on Saturday and then switched to Sunday - the down side is they may be sold out of something but they will always ship it to you for free (at least that's been my experience).

I have long striped hair - red, blond and brown - see my avatar... Hopefully we can meet and say Hi! You'll be sorry you did not take all of Tim's classes - he is fabulous *wink*.
But shopping is always good!

Somehow, I always seem to miss the Akron show every year but this year I'm planning on going. I will be in Akron late Saturday night to see a band that I love so I'm going to stay in a hotel and check out the show on Sunday.
Just wondering if anyone is bringing pins or ATC's to swap??? A few years back, lots of people would swap pins, then it seemed to stop. It was fun to swap!
I will be there on Sunday!

I would love to know more about pin/ATC swapping. I have never been involved with that but it sounds neat. I am taking the first 2 Tim classes on Friday and will attend on Saturday and a short visit on Sunday.
My friend has us signed up for a Tim Holtz class, Friday evening I believe, but we will be back on either Saturday or Sunday. What kind of pins do you swap?
I realized earlier this week that now I can not go. DD is competing in a horse show that weekend. Waaah! Thankfully I did not sign up for any classes or buy my tickets in advance. All that are going - Enjoy!
