I am getting ready to stock up on cardstock.
For those that use PTI cardstock - do you still use SU inks?
I have most of the SU inkpads and some others and I do not want re-invest all that money for new inkpads until they wear out.
I also want to place a large order for all sorts of the colors -
What are some of you most used/favorite PTI cardstock?
Also - I know this is thicker cardstock so does it weight down the card for mailing?
Oh, Ill be watching this thread. I am mostly SU When it comes to cardstock, inks, watercolor crayons and pastels; but I have all kinds of stamps as well as DP from both SU and from local stores.
Now I am hooked on the clean and simple look. Ive tried making the sleek white cards, but SU WW just doesnt cut it. So I am ready to put in an order for PTI white, and noticed their sampler package of other colors. I think Im ready to branch out and experiment with other good card stock!
Yes I still use SU inks, but I also haven't really invested in the entire line of Papertrey's colors. My friend who has switched over to their inks. I mostly use Papertrey's neutral colors of card stock. That way, it still coordinates easily with other brands of ink.

I have all of the SU ink pads and I find that they match well with the PTI cardstock. I did buy a couple of the PTI ink pads and didn't like them very much, but that was back before they changed the ink formula. I love all of the PTI colors so I can't help you with which color to go with. I don't think that the cards weight much more with the PTI cardstock than with the SU cardstock, but I do use PTI for the base and SU for my layers most of the time. Good luck and enjoy your new cardstock when you get it.
My suggestion would be: PTI White, Vintage Cream, Rustic White and Rustic cream and the combo pack to see what you like. You will HAVE to order Enchanted Evening and Scarlet Jewel because they are gorgeous and not in the present combo pack. Terra cotta is pretty too and I have used a whole pack of new leaf, but then I'm a green girl.
I use whatever ink is handy

I luv PTI White CS and do use SU and various other inks on it just perfectly.
I buy colored CS form SU.
Good luck!!!

live well,laugh often, love much!
I have ordered and reordered PTI White, Vintage Cream and Kraft. I want to try Pure Poppy and Dark Chocolate Brown, New Leaf Green and many others. I love this paper. I do still get certain packs of Stampin Up as well.
I have only PTI cardstock so cannot compare it to SU but I'd really recommend getting the neutrals for your base. Kraft & Vintage Cream are my favorites for neutrals. Right now Im really loving the Melon Berry color, you can see samples on my blog. My past fave was Aqua Mist - I have a sample here.
My fave may not be yours but I would try the sampler pack so you can see for yourself!!

My gallery - yup I finally got pics posted!
I have traded most of my SU inks, now I use mostly PTI's and Gina K's. For black I use Memento or Versafine. When I started switching over I have purchased the small size pads, lots cheaper and doesn't take up much space!
I don't think I've sent a flat card in ages so I'm not sure if the cardstock adds extra weight, my guess would be no. It depends on the colors for me, mostly with the time of year, but my favorite colors are Aqua Mist, Sweet Blush and Ripe Avocado. They don't have a color I don't like, I too would recommend a variety pack. I'm guessing on the 15th they will have a new pack available with last years colors.
Great question. I have what seems like a lifetime supply of SU cardstock and inks, but will probably PTI cardstock as the SU c/s runs out . I have heard rave reviews about the paper, especially the white. The colors are lovely. I plan on using SU inks with them. I thought about trying the inks and almost purchased some of their inks on my last order. Then I noted they were making changes to the formula. Figure I will wait awhile before investing in their inkpads.

Well, I have all of SU papers, all of their ink with refills. Well not all the craft ink and what I do have most have not been opened. I own most colors of PTI papers but none of their ink. I use momento, palette and SU inks with my Copic markers. I have plenty other inks and watercolors, and a few watercolor pencils, just not using them right now.
SU inks match well enough for me to not invest more in ink untill I start to run. Have no favorites, like it all!!!
I am switching to PTI paper and inks. The SU inks have some similar colors to PTI. For example, Pure Poppy is very close to Real Red ink. However, when I stamp the PTI Pure Poppy on kraft cardstock, it stays red while the SU ink turns burgundy. I have no idea why!
My favorite PTI colors are Aqua Mist and Spring Moss and Berry Sorbet. Fresh, bright and fun. I don't have a lot of the PTI colors as I am doing a slow switch.
Another close match is that you can use PTI Avocado paper with SU artichoke ink and not die of embarrassment!

You are too funny!!
I've never tried to use PTI paper but I love how the markets & ink pads and everything match for SU!
Thank you all!
I have decided to get a pack of white and get most of the 24 sheet packs. Then when I decide what colors I love I then order the 50 sheet packs.
I really like their cardstock prices and free shipping is a great thing!
I don't have the recent colors so I am looking forward for PTI's 2009 assorted pack to be released Feb 15th. My fav colors are Aqua Mist and Berry Sorbet. Berry Sorbet is similar to Cameo Coral but is richer and the color "pops" more. Love to use it with the matching swiss dots ribbon.
There are many things I like about PTI but what I really like is that when I am on the fence about a color or it is a color I may like but just do not use much of it I have the option to buy 12 sheets for $3. I think that is a fantastic option.
I have been slowly purchasing PTI"s paper and inks love the colors. .The PTI"S have ribbon to match all there paper and ink..How fun is that and much easier when you are designing your projects. PTI is the way to go !!!!!!!! I do have all the SU paper and inks but I really think the quality of PTI"s is better.
I am looking for a good paper to emboss with! I use cuttlebug emboss folders and it cuts thru my paper, AC papers, DW paper and just a tab bit thru SU. Any suggestions on weight to use? Gina K has a 110 is that too heavy! Someone please help a sister out! New to ordering paper usually get it from craft store. I do see the difference with my new SU paper it is better. I'll keep on the look out for you ladies good and experience advice!
