Default What adhesive do you recommend now?

Hi guys,

Now that my all time favorite adhesive is being discontinued what do you recommend? I thought about tombow but I have heard negative things about it. What do you love? I am not interested in the atg gun.

Thanks,
Candie

I only use Tombow Mono Multi and LOVE it. It is honestly like cement and you need the tiniest bit of it and I've never had it warp the paper, even thin designer paper...probably because you need so little of it.

And I can make a ton of cards with one bottle.

I buy mine here:
http://www.penwa.com/tombow/aquaglue.htm
I get the box of 10 and it's been well over a year since I've ordered and I've even given a few to friends.

I'm in love with the UHU Scrapbookers Pens. I actually make special trips to a store half an hour away because it's the only local place that carries it.

It's a thin, clear liquid adhesive, and it dries fairly quickly. I've not had any trouble with warping paper or bleeding through anything.

Double-stick tape by 3M. It is the second best adhesive I have ever used.

(1st best is 3M's ATG 924 tape)

Tombow does not keep its' stick in Texas...don't know why but everyone here has problems with it...now Ducky is great! 'Cept they have a new clear line of split things. Still is the best but the old formula was like Tombow.

DUCK changed their formula and Kyoku (sp?) is discontinuing one of their tape runners. Both these changes prompted me to get a Glue Glider Pro (the ATG is too unwieldy for me) at a recent EXPO. I LOVE it!

The Koyuko is being discontinued so the company can focus on office supplies. I can't believe it.

3M double sided tape or scor-tape here! Depends on what I'm doing which one I use.

I really like snails...I did use the duck snail from Wal-Mart but they stopped carrying it. I really have good luch with the Ad-tech snails I get from Wal-Mart. About $3.50 for the snail and one tape roll. $2.25 for two re-fills. Great prices.

I love the Tombow Liquid with the Green Lid. Great stuff, a little goes a long way, it has wiggle room and sticks like mad.

I agree with you about the Adtech runners ... very good quality and a great price. I use them for small pieces and keep a few in each of my totes. I forgot about them because it is a recent discovery.

I do think the Glue Glider Pro will, overall, be more economical for me but I like runners that fit in my hand. It's nice to have options.

I also have to second this!! (Or I guess, third!!) I CANNOT get the tape runners to run, ever!! Something must be wrong with me!! But I love double-stick tape! And I love that I don't have to buy it in the scrapbook department, because it's a whole lot cheaper!! I actually just saw it for the first time at Jo-Ann's and they sell it for $4 a roll!! Get it at Wal-Mart and its around $1.25.

I use tombow adhesive to use in the SU snail and don't have any problems in Minnesota. I don't like the feeling of glue on my fingers but have to use it for tiny items. However, sometimes I use a mini glue dot under brads placed close to corners of the card for better adhesion. I got a great price for the tombow snail adhesive refills from Penwa.com and at the time they had a free shipping special. I did purchase about 50 at once. Penwa had speedy shipping and great service.

Kokuyo was my absolute favorite....leaps and bounds better than all the rest.......for runners. I don't know what I am going to use now. I use beacons 3 & 1 glue....and it is great, but when I am mass producing, I need a runner. :(

I love my ATG as well, but if I need to use something smaller I use the Ad-tech from Wal-mart. These work great and I have to agree they are a great price!

You're not alone on this--I can't either!!!!

Like so many others, I love my Tombow Mono Multi with the green lid, especially for embellishments. I know glue sticks are not very popular with a lot of SCSers, but I love the blue Tombow glue stick. It's my go-to for layering paper.

Yet another vote for Tombow Mono Multi. I tend to use the pen tip more often than the broad tip.

3-M double stick for basic card layers, or red-liner tape for pockets or boxes.

Scotch atg tape is my fav but right now I'm using the tape from the tape depot. I'm ok with the tape depot tape but I prefer the scotch tape because you have a little bit of time to remove it if you make a mistake. Next is scotch dbl sided tape, then its tombow multi-purpose glue or 2-way glue pen.

Once my kokuyo runs out I guess I will revert back to my ATG gun. The adhesive is good but I find the "gun" a little awkward.

I don't like liquid glues, and I loathe glue sticks. I haven't had much trouble with Tombow tape runners, but I know a lot of people do. I'm working on a whole bunch of ATCs with heavy-ish cardstock and embellishments, and last night at my local Michael's I saw Tombow Power Bond runners. It's supposed to be extra-heavy-duty, but it works just like the runners do. I think it'll prove a little on the pricey side -- the runners, for some reason, are not refillable -- but I bought one to try, and it seemed to work pretty well for the stuff I was working on last evening. We'll see how it holds up . . . Has anyone else tried this stuff?

Here's a vote for something else I LOVE my Glue Glider. I had a Glue Glider Pro & recently upgraded to the Max b/c I love it so much. You don't need much & it works just like a ATG. It comes with different cartridges & everything. Here's a link if you want to check it out.

OH!! You better be positive you want something where you want it b/c it will rip your paper

Hi Candie,

I know you've gotten lots of great replies, but I though I'd throw in my two cents. I use the Glue Glider Pro that I purchased at Hobby Lobby during their 50% off adhesive sale and I generally stock up on the refills during these sales too. The cartridges last a long time and they really STICK!! For a wet adhesive, I recently purchased Tombow Mono Multi and I'm pleased with it. This one's also available at HL and I'll stock up during their next sale.

Good luck finding your new favorite adhesive!

Looks like I'm the only one who uses Aleene's quick glue. I like that its tip is so pointed, helps me put the glue in those tiny places. I use it to stick everything - from paper to rhinestones. It sometimes does get my fingers messy but I'm ok with it. It sticks really well so you only need a small quantity - a large quantity can warp thin text weight paper.

I do like how well the glue glider works/sticks, but it is very expensive......the refills are almost $8 and are 40 feet.....the kokuyo was 43 feet and you could get refilss at scrapbook pal for as low as $3.50.

Anyone have a good source for the glue glider refils for a lower price. I have seen them for $7....but still too steep for me.

My vote is 3M's ATG, Score Tape, and double sided sticky. I have found that glue type adhesives don't hold layers together over time in the southern CA dry heat.

WalMart's Ad-tech runners did not last for us in Indiana humidity. We made some christmas cards and got them out the next season and they had to be completely retaped.
I would love to find a runner that I like. They are just so much easier to use. Until then, It's Tombo multi and Scotch double sided tape for me, I guess.

Is this really true? I can't believe it! Kokuyo tape runner is the very best! My second option is the 3M tape runner.
