What design program

Does anyone know what design program people use to create box templates for cutting out with their Cricut machines? I've downloaded Inkscape and I have Sure Cuts A Lot but I just cannot figure out Inkscape for the life of me. I was hoping there was a more user friendly program someone was willing to tell me about. If you are not sure what I mean by box templates if you check out this link:

This is what I would like to make with some of the things I've sketched out for my own use. I just posted a cupcake holder to my gallery as an example.

Have you checked out "Make The Cut"? It's a lot easier to use vs. SCAL (don't have to use Inkscape), and you can trace jpeg or PDF's into a cutting file.

I prefer Make The Cut. It has a trial version you can download to see if it is easier for you than SCAL. Different programs work better for different people. Maybe you're a MTC type of person.

I use paintshop pro to design my boxes Col. Design at 90dpi, save as a jpg and they cut to size.

You can scan the pdfs and jpegs with Sure Cuts alot too. One click of the button.
