It's much prettier than the ATG and it's very reasonable for the gun.
The refills seem expensive though. Even though they look really big on the roll they are only 40 feet.
Unless my calculations are wrong the small Tombow tape dispensers have the same amount of adhesive (the Tombow has 400ish inches) so therefore the refills on the Glue Glider are way more expensive for the 40 foot refills.
Do you have any input? I suppose the reason I was drawn to this in the first place is the smaller size and I want something with inexpensive adhesive. I think the ATG gun refills are much more economical.
I was thinking about getting the ATG but thought the Dotto was cheaper refill-wise. I'd like to know if anyone has suggestion/opinions about this, too! Thanks for asking!
Hey Jennifer, I just read a thread "Wish me luck..." and the gals went on and on about a great deal on the ATG etc. I went to the site and bought it...gun & tape...reasonable. Give a look!
I saw this at CHA. The refills are more expensive and are mostly plastic, so there is much more environmental waste with them. The adhesive was nice and strong but I'm sticking with my ATG.
I think the atg is a better deal. If you are worried about looks I was at a convention and a company had green, pink, and green atgs. You can get better deals elsewhere and their tape is alittle expensive but if you really want a nice colored one there is that option. (I just had to have the pink!!)
Okay I have got to chime in here. I got the regular ATG and painted it myself. I searched the web and found another site where everyone has altered their ATG's. The paint you buy is KRYLON fusion for plastic. I got it at Michaels with a 40% off coupon and paid maybe $3 for it. So the gun plus the paint and you are out maybe $55. You can paint that yourself. And you can paint it any color you like. I saw really cute chocolate ones. I painted mine pink and purchased some black rubons and some rhinestone bling and I have never seen anything so cute. Also I didnt paint the clear side cause i want to see how much tape I have left but I did add bling and rubons to that side. It was really easy to paint. I got impatient with hubby and did it myself. I also read you can add a clear gloss paint to it. I didnt cause mine wont be abused. lol.
I just bought both of them
I personally prefer the glue glider pro for the way it easily lays the glue down BUT it will be more expensive to use than the ATG 714.
I will use both until I decide for sure but the ATG 714 is by far the cheapest to use.
I like them both better in most instances than tape runners.
The glue glider pro is a better size BUT the ATG 714 is very lightweight so the larger size really isn't an issue like I thought it would be.
Hi there,
I've had the glue glider since Feb and have used only this as my adhesive for 100's of cards. I have to say I love it, but....not the cost of the refills. I'm sticking to it as a treat to myself though because it works so well and I never have adhesive issues anymore.
I like it too but will get the ATG as soon as I can. I don't like the cost of refills and all that plastic getting thrown away. My main reason for buying it was it was bigger than my Tombow and wouldn't get lost in my messy office.
I got one and love it. I only use it where I would use red line tape, so it's cheaper. It's also fabulous for adhering ribbon and trims. I'm a small person with small hands, and not too much room for the ATG, so this is perfect for me!
I worked at a booth at a recent Scrapbook Expo where these were being sold, I think the bundle cost was $19.99 for the glider + 2 refills. Many many were sold and I think it was because it is not such a huge investment, some are just recently dipping into the craft world so this works really well, however in the long run they may seek more affordable adhesive. I personally have and LOVE my ATG. Thanks to the person who mentioned painting them with the krylon paint (duh why didn't I think of that) I think I will have to bling my ATG out now
I also purchased a Glue Glider Pro recently. I love the size and it is very easy to use. The refills are a bit pricey. I try to purchase them at Hobby Lobby with a coupon. The hold is awesome.

I purchased the Glue glider this week in hobby lobby when the glue was 30% off...I wanted to try it out. Hold is amazing. Do not put down the paper and expect it to come off.. The refill is indeed expensive. I love my ATG Gun and not moving away from it, but it was nice to try out something new.
I think this tape being small in width and the hold being so good, would be a good one to use on boxes and bags etc insted of the red sticky tape. I do love the ease of using this vs red sticky tape. Having said this, I have not tried it on a box to see if it will hold as well.
I have both glue glider pro and the ATG. ATG is a much better deal. The refills for the glue glider pro are very expensive compared to ATG plus ATG refills are 36 yards as opposed to 49 feet for ggp.
ATG is very easy to use and light weight. I know it is large but not a problem taking it any where since it is so light
I have and love the Glue Glider Pro. It works great with my arthritic hands, which the ATG does not.
Ditto - I have and love the Glue Glider Pro. I can grab it and put a box together in seconds. Much quicker and easier than red line tape. And boy howdy does it ever stick. I use the perma tac. A little bigger than a tape runner and much smaller than ATG- so easy to handle. Not that the others aren't, just easier for me. I cut corners and try to save where I can. But this works great for me and is worth a little more $ knowing it will stay.
I used to LOVE my Glue Glider Pro. Lately the refills keep turning in itself, so the tape gets all gunked up. I had one tape line break after using it about an hour- boy was I hopping mad! Not sure why the quality of this product has taken a dive. Anyone else have that same problem? Maybe it is just me?

Call them. They have wonderful customer service. I had gotten a bad refill and they replaced it right away. I forget the phone number but look at their website.
I have bought a total of 3 refills perma tac and hi tac. My 1 perma tac went bad half way through so I call CS and they did replace it.
I just bought a new hi tac and again halfway through it went back on itself so I can not use it. I will be calling Monday. This is only my back up tape runner but I will not be buying any more refills since 66% did not work completely and they are very expensive at 8.99 at HL
This is the last I will use it.
I really love mine! It's much easier for me to work with. My right hand doesn't work the way it use to...And the weight of any other Tape gun is to heavy for me to use. This one works well for me.
I make a lot of Cards and I've had mine for awhile now. I think about 5 to 6 months now... I just purchased my 4th refill. I try to buy them when they are on sale.
My local HL store carries them. Other places I've gotten mine from is
Our Daily Bread Stamp store.
And I just found out that Clear And Simple Stamps will be selling them too.
So if you don't want a big bulky Tape gun. I would go with a smaller one like Glue Pro.

Can you share the link to where we can see altered atg guns? Thanks!

I am on my second refill and have not had any problems. Sorry you have. I wonder if maybe it was old stock or something.
I love my Glue Glider Pro. I like that it's smaller, has PINK on it, and doesn't have that trigger. When I tried to use a friends ATG, I just couldn't master the trigger. I know Oriental Trading has them as well as the refills.
I'd also like to know what the difference is between the perma tack and the high tac.
FYI, Overstock sells the ATG 714 for $50.99 and is currently having a promo with Paypal. Orders over $100 and paid through Paypal get an instant discount of $20.
Overstock shipping is $2.95 per transaction (unless you have a coupon code or something for free shipping).

Plus it seems they carry both items so you can compare the two...
Thanks to those who shared links for the altered ATG gun!
Question: A couple of you compared the glider pro tape with the red sticky tape. Those of you who have both ATG and the glider pro - can you compare the tape strength? Is the glider tape stronger?
I have the ATG and didn't think it equaled the strength of the red sticky tape but I can't remember what I was working on that made me think that.
Also, I have had the ATG tape tear on me several times but I am able to 'fix' it so that the rest of the roll isn't wasted. Has anyone had the glider tape tear while using?
The Glue Glider Pro is very comfortable to use and I can toss it in a small drawer. I was a complete klutz with it at first but now it's a breeze to use. The refills are more expensive than some other tape dispensers but I look online for sales with cheap shipping. I'm hoping our Michaels stores will carry it eventually so I can save even more with coupons. (no Hobby Lobby in the far west) As for the large refill cassette, I take the empty ones apart and put the larger plastic pieces and the entire used paper roll in our recycling bin.
If I get the chance to try an ATG I will, but I'm happy at this point with the GGP.
I have the Glue Glider Pro, love it, and have not had any problems with it (thus far). I got mine from Ellen Hudson's store. Here is a link to an article where she compared it to an ATG gun and reviewed it...
