Can you believe this is our 3rd year of Scrappin' Goal Challenge?! We sure completed an AWESOME number of pages together in 2008 & 2009 and I'm looking forward to MORE Scrap pages together in 2010! Let's keep scrappin'.
It was SO fun to see everyone's goals and ideas for completing LOTS of scrapbook pages in 2010! Many had a common theme - get more pages done, use what's in our stash, meet new scrapping friends, plan time/crops...
What fun we'll have sharing ideas, cheering success, keeping the motivation and making new friends. Our scrap goal isn't all about getting pages done, it's also about enjoying the process! Please feel free to join at any time!
Here's the CHALLENGE. Each person will post what their scrapbook page goal is for January. We will have a better shot at meeting our yearly goal if we break it down by month. Along with the scrapbook page goal for January, if you'd like to play along with the "Using Stash Crew" decide what your scrapping budget will be for that month.
*In this thread, we'll track how we do for the month. Look HERE to share and track your Annual Goals. *
You choose your own scrapbook page goal and monthly spend goal. You may select 2, 3, 5, 50 pages....you choose. The idea is to be flexible so if you know you're going to be really busy, you can reduce the number one month or if you're going to a couple crops or scrap weekends, up the number. This also works for the budget. Each month, you can change your goals depending on your calendar!
The whole goal of the challenge is to get lots of pages done, use more in our stash before buying new (well at least keep track) and if you want to play along w/ saving --- save $$ at the same time which becomes scrapping budget $ for next year -- or vacation money or Holiday fund! See POST #3below for BUDGET!
Are you UP for the CHALLENGE? Come and Play in the 2010 Scrapbook Challenge! Happy New Year! Here's to Meeting our Scrapping Goals & Meeting New Friends!
(Pssst...in case you're interested in the "history", here's the thread that started it all 3 years ago...
We'd love to "oohh" and "aahh" over your pages so please post with key word "SBC10Jan"

*This is where we'll track our Scrap Page Goal for January* Feel Free to join at any time. Our Annual "Craft" (cards, gifts, scrapbook pages, etc HERE).
I'm SURE you will all agree that we need to go back and add in our focus on our scrapping budgets! It's a good time of the year to start as we'll all want some goals or resolutions to use more of what we have. Some of us have been using the "budget" idea since we started, others not so much. There are several ways to do this:
1. Set a $$ spending budget for the month & track your expenditures against budget set.
2. Match your scrapbook/stamping spending by putting the same amount away in savings that you spend on scrapbook/stamp stuff. This gives you extra $$ for either more scrap/stamp spending or something fun
3. Set a "Scrap to Spend" page goal. Come up with a goal to complete before you spend more $$ (for instance, "complete 25 pages before spending"
4. Do a combination or all of them!
Many times scrapping and stamping supply purchases are "impulse" buys. We want to encourage not only LOTS of Pages completed but creative, productive use of our STASH. Let's see if together we can be "CREATORS" and not just "COLLECTORS". (Thanks MP )
You do NOT have to set a budget to play along with Scrappin' Goal Challenge. This is only for those of us who would like to play
I will post our Scrap Budgets here...let's see if we can band together and encourage everybody to keep on goal
We're going to launch another Thursday Challenge for 2010! I'm so excited!!
SCS 52 Week Thursday Goal Challenge!
This year on Thursdays you'll be invited to join us for our 52 Week Scrap Challenge. These challenges will be PERFECT whether you're working on your kids albums, 2010 Family Album, Daily Life Album or a "BOM" (Book of Me).
We have a SPECIAL Hostess for every month and each Thursday they will post a challenge that goes with their theme for the month! By the end of the year, you'll have some GREAT pages or a complete 2010 Scrapbook...OR BOTH!
Ok Scrappy Sisters! One of the FUN things we like to do here in the Scrap Goal Thread is Share some fun with our scrappin' Sisters!
This month (by special request) we're going to "INSPIRATION SHARE - ONE WORD"! We did this last year and had a GREAT time so I really invite all of you who'd like to play to join in!
Here's how it works. Select a "word" that you would like to share with a scrappin' sister. Don't tell anyone what word you selected! The "word" can be any word you'd like to choose, the challenge is that you have to find that word on an embellishment or stamp the word on a title box or cut it out with your cricut...whatever. It has to be in a form they can add to a scrapbook page.
We'll take sign ups for playing until 01/15. I will then PM you the address of the sister you'll send the word to. Don't tell anyone what the word is! You may also send a fun little scrappin' goodie to go with the word if you've chosen to stamp or diecut the word but it can't be something "big" you send. On FRIDAY, January 29 all sisters that received a "word" to scrap will upload their page with the word they were sent & reveal who sent them the "word".
So, just to re-iterate the process
1. Select a "word" that would be fun to scrap a page around
2. PM Lela your name & address
3. Put the word embellishment in envelope for mailing
4. On 01/15, receive a PM with Scrappin' Sis address for mailing to
5. Mail the word envelope to Scrappin' Sister
6. Receive your word envelope from a Scrappin' Sister
7. Scrap a page using the word embellishment, title box or whatever you
received
8. On Friday, 01/29, upload your completed page
I attached a SAMPLE HERE. Last year my word came from Lanita (divanurse). My word was "fun" and she sent me the cutest little clip that said, "Fun Times". I added the word and the clip to my page.

I'm hoping to scrap this year as I had to stop half way through last year. However, b/c of my mommy/wife/teacher/ and now student status I am going to aim really low with on 12 for the year (1 a month).
I'm in! I want to do 20 pages/month while DH is deployed - he is gone until June (6 months). Then when he returns, I want to do 12/month. So - my goal for the year is 192 ;) Included in that, I want to finish the Disney scrapbooks, family cookbook scrapbook, and catch up on holiday/birthday LO's. WHEW. I'm sure there is something else I'm missing!!!

Hi Lela. I'm coming back in for 2010. I'm going to try for 10 pages/month for the year - a total of 120 for 2010. As far as the budget goes -- great idea, but I tend to "blow" it every month. So, I'm just gonna try to be good this year

Lela -I'm in on the exercise thread as well. once I consume some caffeine and get Christmas #2 done today, I'll come back and read up on the thread some more....
Merry Christmas everyone... (dh has informed me he wants to head to Walgreens to shop this morning.... I think he's lost his mind....)

Also I am going to pay myself this year to scrap, I tried to last year but it just wasn't in the cards But this year, yes I will
Also I will join in the exercise goals probably in June (maybe May, depending on how I am feeling, as I really want to get in shape this year after the baby) Told hubby after we got the puppy that my goal was to weigh less than the dog, but I retracted that when the vet said she would probably be about 100 lbs, but now, we have weighed her and she is 60lbs, she has gained 30 lbs since we got her exactly 2 months ago (Oct 26) so maybe my first goal will still hold true!!!

I'm joining back in! I haven't scrapped much in the past few months - in fact this is the first I've been on SCS since Oct or early Nov (I think). I'm shooting for 20 pages a month - 10 dps - so 120 for the year. As for budget...well we'll have to see (we are fixing to start Dave Ramsey's "Total Money Makeover"), so for Jan I'm using only stash.
ok count me in ladies...i am going to do it this year....goal will be 5 pages a month for 60 pages this year!!!! hopefully ill outdo myself but better to start slow!!!!
hope you all had a wonderfull christmas! cant wait to catch up!!!

Yahoo!!!! For 2010....
My goals this year are changing, for many different reasons, but mostly because as the boys have grown and left to do their own thing, I find that I have fewer and fewer pictures to scrap. So instead of the usual 400 pages a year I am going down to 150. I want to throw in some more crafty stuff and cards. My big goal this year is to try and move my business forward... I want it to be more of a money maker than a hobby for amusement. And because of this goal... my budget goals will also be changing. I am going to set a goal of $10.00 a month for personal & non business related items. But the key here, for me at least, is I can only spend/save after I have met all my monthly goals and used more stash (which by the way is NOT running low any to quickly)! So.... hummmmm...... what are my goals for this year?
Scrapbook pages completed 12 monthly / 150 for the year. Budget goal completed (Stash First).... spend/save $10.00 monthly/ $120.00 year Cards (all sizes, ATCs & Swaps) completed 25 monthly / 300 for the year Paper Crafts & Altered Items completed 5 projects monthly / 60 projects for the year Biggest Loser Goal 10 pounds a month / 100 pounds this year
wow Anavon, I hope you make all of your goals, and end up having a healthy, bountiful 2010!!!
I like you am hoping to make more of a business out of my little hobby, so inspired by my last Open House, it's time to start getting some things put on the calendar, especially since I will be out of commission all of March, so I really need to front load Jan - mid Feb.
Then come May or June time to start shedding pounds too, thankfully this baby is completely different than the last one, definitely all belly, so I have only gained about 20 lbs, so hoping I don't gain much more, because that will put me at wanting to lose about 55 lbs once the baby is born. Which would put me back to my weight in college. I think my goal is to be a very comfortable size 6 (4 would be even better, but I don't think I have ever seen a size 4 in my life, or even a size 6 except for maybe for a few months, even while growing up). Rather than a snug 10 or 12, especially on this short frame of mine!!

Ok, it's time I get back into this. I had to quit scrapping this past summer when I packed everything up to sell our house and move. Now that we are settled and I had our second child in November, I'm ready to start getting caught up again! I am going to set a goal for January at 20 pages and using stash. I am going to try to only buy cardstock and use up everything else I've been hoarding. I am still home on maternity leave, so hopefully this will be easily attainable. I can't wait to see what everyone does this year!
Being realistic this year and only going for 10 pages per month for a total of 120 for the year. I'd set 12 pages a month for the past two years and keep missing that goal...maybe if I lower it I'll do better ;-)
Last year (2009) we had a GREAT NYD Scrap Challenge! (It's HERE) I posted this link for last year if you wanted to use it for inspiration! If there is interest, we'll have a NYD MiniCrop again this year!! I thought this year might be another FUN, FUN way to get us started for January Scrappin'!
We also have LOTS of FUN coming up with VSBN! Jan 15-17
I created some confusion by linking last year 2009 NYD Challenge thread here. It was just for inspiration ;) If there is interest, we'll have a 2010 NYD Mini-Crop? Please PM me or post here if you'd like to play.

2009 I only thought I'd be able to do 4 pages per month (1 per week) and once I found digi scrapping, I broke thru that goal so this year I think I'll go for 6 per month since I know there will be months in there I won't get a chance to do anything! Here's hoping! I look forward to all the inspiration and challenges that will help this goal along.
My goals for 2010 will be a little different than what they have been for the past 2 years. For starters I am not going to give myself a yearly goal. I will just take it month by month as I do most of my creating on my days off and I find that if Mike and I go away for a few days it takes me awhile to catch my breath and get back into the normal swing of things. Next, I am going go small on my scrapbook page goals. Reason being is I really want to focus on trying new techniques and because I host the scrapbook inspiration challenge I want to do a better job of providing sample pages for the challenges. I did not do so well with that this past year. So for the month of January my goal is going to be 4 12x12 pages. There are other things I want to get into doing this year and I will post those in Lela's 2010 Craft goal thread.
I am looking forward to scrapping with you all this year:p and I really hope I get a chance to play along with the 52 week challenge on Thursdays as well.
I am in for the exercise goal-I was going to go to the gym today, but walked at least a mile at the mall instead! It was fun-and I was gawking around and ran right into a very tall man!! OMG I was so very embarrassed! His wife just cracked up!
Anyway- I am digitally hooked up-so I will keep a goal of a page a day and I am trying to do the 365 photo or journaling or a mix of the two and then combine for a diary looking book for the year!
And last year we had a word and so I have been thinking about it and I have a word for this year too Balance will be my word for 2010
OH and I forgot-Of course I want to do the word exchange!
I'm really looking forward to scraping in 2010. I believe I can accomplish 84 for the year. Divided by 12 that would mean 7 pages a month. So to start I am setting my January goal at 7.

Wow Lela what a great year you have planned for us! I am in for a goal of 10 per month.
Put me down for the Inspiration share -one word challenge and I would like to get some inspiration from my onliine friends for the exercise goals. So I guess you can put me down for the following:
10 pages for January
One word challenge
exercise goals
Thanks for all the hard work that goes into keeping all of this straight!

I haven't stamped or scrapped in 2 years, depression bottom line.
Looking to be inspired and get that feeling again.
Thanks for coming to visit...hope you'll decide to stay! Everyone here would love to cheer you on. There's lots of inspiration and the goal is to just get pages scrapped. So you can definitely go at your own pace. Welcome!
I am so excited that I found this link at the end of the year and can start fresh for 2010. I am trying to decide on my goal amount for the year, as well as my craft goals, budget and weight loss (after our baby arrives in February).....so I'll be back with my goals. I have alot of pages to scrap as well that I have left over from swaps that I haven't used yet (probably close to 100) so I'm thinking I could add those onto my scrapbook goals as well (is that ok?).
lost_in_lincoln--I'm a newbie to this thread as well...glad to see that you are getting back into scrapbooking.
I am SOO in!! Thanks to this thread I exceeded my year goal of 150 for 2009. I am having some health problems and never really know how I will feel day-to-day, so I will only be doing monthly goals this year, and just see where I end up. I also have a ton of "junk" I have saved for projects, alterables, etc that I want to use. (not really putting that in a goal, just getting it out there in writing!)
so... January's goal will be 10 pages!
Thanks to everyone for the great inspiration and friendship!
