Default SU! Big Shot Cutting Pads Question

I'm interested in purchasing the Big Shot but not sure how often the cutting pads are going to need to be replaced - is this something I should stock up on or will they last through quite a few uses?

Boy, Shari...that's a tough one. I guess it's more a matter of your own personal use pattern. I love my Big Shot and have had it for 18 months or so. I'm still on the same initial set of cutting pads. But I don't get as much of a chance to play with mine as many people do, either. Also, lol...I am very cautious about sending stuff through if it feels too thick, where other people have more confidence, kwim?

I'd say get one extra set if you just want to feel like you're covered if one happens to break, but I don't see the need to invest in several up front. I know...kind of a wishy washy answer! Sorry!

Shari.....There is no reason they should break. I've never had one break in all the years I've had my BIGkick. But yes, they are a consumable item. After multiple uses they get so etched you can't see through them and this does cause the etching to mar your paper eventually also. This would be when you would replace them.

It is suggested that you have a spare set on hand for when needed. If you rotate your cutting pads and flip them over on a regular basis, you should get about 500 cuts with each set of cutting pads. I stock up on cutting pads when AC Moore has the Sizzix items on sale. You can also use a coupon in both AC Moore and Michaels for the Sizzix products, too.

Of course this usage will vary from person to person depending on your use.

I've replaced one pad. I've always used the same one on the bottom and keep flipping the top pad. I used the original top one until it left lines on my paper.
