I've tried them with clear stamps. They work a lot better than Tombow, which don't work very well with clear stamps. You can usually find these in Michael's in an assortment pack so you can use a coupon.
I have a ton of these (but they weren't labeled for "clear stamps") when I got them, but the numbers on my markers are the same (the 1500 series for the brush ones and the 1122 series for the dual-end tipped ones). I have a ton of clear stamps but tend to use ink pads for stamping and my markers for coloring in line drawings. I don't think I've ever used these for coloring in on my clear stamps at all (but I seldom color on my stamps with ANY markers because it takes too long for me to want to spend the time).
Marvy has had both these series numbers out forever and you can get tons of colors, especially in the LePlume II dual-end tipped ones. I think they're great markers and use them all the time BECAUSE of the range of colors you can get. I've even let my kids use them over the years and haven't had any issues with the tips feathering or messing up. I wouldn't hesitate to get more of them (although to get any colors than what I already have I'd have to order them on-line because I have all the colors that come in all the variety packs that I got at Michael's all with 40%-50% coupons). Note about the packs: if anyone plans on purchasing all the packs like I did, you will end up with some duplicates in a handful of colors. That didn't really bother me because I was already saving a ton of money and ended up with extras of colors I tend to use more of already.
So, sorry Joan, can't tell you they're horrible because I love them.
I have the LePlume as opposed to the brush marker ones,(had them four years or so, now), but as to whether they work well on clear stamps - an awful lot depends on the stamp, and on the whole I'd say you could live without them, Joan, if you want to. I love using them with rubber, but tend to stay clear of using them with clears unless I really need to.

If you get them I would definitely get the le plume rather than the brush. That little tip is great for adding dots and fake stitching as borders. If they are the same Marvy markers that have been around forever I have them and love them on rubber stamps. They are dye ink though (unless these are different) and I haven't had much luck with them on clear stamps. Maybe it was just the clear stamps that I was using, but you know how badly some clear stamps work with dye ink.
I've had both forever -- way before clear stamps were around. I didn't know they are now advertised as clear stamp markers. I meant to use them on my clear stamps yesterday after reading this thread but ran out of time. Will test today and post what I think of them on clear stamps.
I thought memento markers were just regular dye markers. am I incorrect? I love my memento inks!
No, you are correct, Joan, they are water-based markers. Aren't the ones you linked also water-based? Seems to be they are just capitalizing on the clear stamp trend. I could be wrong though. My Memento markers work well on clear stamps - not that I do that kind of stamping much.
And I obviously didn't having my typing brain on with above comment in quotes. LOL "at" should have been "about."
I tested both of these markers and SU markers on a clear stamp and I see no difference. I used the same stamp and similar colors.
I don't like using markers on clear stamps you don't get the same effects as you do with using markers on rubber stamps. I have used these marvy markers and SU markers on rubber stamps for years and I notice no difference in quality of the images.
So bottom line for me is.... all the markers work well with rubber stamps and I don't like any of them for clear stamps.
Hey, Joan....I've tried inking my clear stamps with VersaMark, then using my Stampin' Up! markers for color. It's not perfect, but better than inking with just the marker alone.

I do this as well with any dye ink or waterbased ink markers. I actually tried a cheap set of RoseArt ($6 Walmart) markers last night and they worked just as well as my SU classic ink with Versamark ink.
I've been using the Marvy brush markers on clear stamps for sometime and it depends on the stamp - some work better than others. I don't like the Le Plume as for me the ink does not seem to be the same as the brush markers. I rarely use the fine tip of the markers so it's not a problem for me.
Also the ink in the brush markers is better for blending directly on rubber stamps when you mist with water. It seems that the ink is thicker than SU, tombow, or other markers.
