Default Scal Help

I Hope I'm posting in the right section. I have just loaded scall a few weeks ago and I am finding I am completely over run with SVG files. I started using the Lib it up program because I couldn't figure out how to view files and keep them organized. Then my scal was taking a long time to open I emailed the craftersedge or what ever they are called and they told me I needed to take some files out of the library. So, I've done that.
I then downloaded and adobe reader because it said it would alow me to view the files on my desk top. Needless to say it converted all my files to I have no idea what and I have to wate for hubby to come home in the morning and hopefully fix it.

Now that I have the majority of my frustration here how do you organize your files?
How do you find something easily?

Please please anyone if you can help, I'm about in tears.

I change my titles as soon as I download, and move them into categories, such as shapes, animals, baby stuff, etc. I also keep them on a flash drive that is always plugged into my computer, so as not to take up too much space.
My name is Jenn and I am a free download addict. I download everything I see with the fear that it won't be there when I come back. I have been clean for 1 day. Oh, look! I think I see a cute baby carriage! Better download it!

LOL

I keep mine in a folder, and within that folder I have subfolders, with some separated by type (animal, flourish, nature, etc.) and some by designer.
