In tears bc I need a new adhesive

I don't know what to do... I just found out the most wonderful adhesive in the world is being discontinued. For almost four years, I have been using Kokuyu Dot 'n Roller--as a 10 year veteran of scrapping/ stamping, I have never been so happy with an adhesive. I just went on line to place an order and it says that Kokuyo is no longer making this item. I HATE TOMBO!!!! I will say it again... I HATE TOMBO... it's useless to me. WHen I mail cards, they arrive with all the pieces separate as the card has fallen apart. Maybe it's the humidity where I live... I don't know. I like a dot roller and I like it permanent. I used herma dotto for a while, but it goops up the dispenser so quickly, it's hardly worth buying refills... additionally, so often the refill doesn't seem to load correctly and the whole refill gets messed up--headache... desperate stamper here, going to a the time of year that affords me the card making... what to do... any ideas...

Tombo came out with a new dot roller recently. I've been using it for a few weeks and am quite pleased with it. I'm at work so I can't give you the particulars. Also, my LSS owner told me that she thought another company would pick up the Kokuyu product. Haven't heard anything else on that note though.

I feel your pain! You might try some of the things I've learned work are Glue Glider... GinaK sells Glue Glider Pro http://shop.ginakdesigns.com/category.sc?categoryId=5

I like it. Price is $14.95 and refills are 8.95. Her service is excellent.

Also I find that to attach layers to a card if they are not popped up a good rubber cement works excellently. It holds firmly. You can find it at most art supply stores or sites - I like Beacon Paper Cement I have a big quart tin and refil my lil bottle and it's a good product. Not sure where you find it online maybe Dick Blick ?

Score tape made by Scorepal is outstanding also. HTH

I use ATG and have for 8+ years. It is used primarily by cusotm picture framers so your stuff WILL NOT fall apart. The initial gun purchase is a little costly but the refill costs make it worth it. I don't like the Glue Glider because of all the plastic cartridges and the waste they create.

Another vote for the ATG. I purchased the ATG 714 at Framingsupplies.com and I also order the 924 tape from them.

another vote for the ATG with 3m tape (not tape depot tape). I recently bouth score-tape and other than the fact I can tear it it's not much better than snail/tombow.

I like Beacon's for papercrafting.

Subscribing... I used to get the Duck brand rollers at JoAnn's but they changed it and I really do not care for it anymore. Hoping to find a new adhesive.

I know Ducky changed and I cannot get use to it. It has the same dispenser as Paper Studio so maybe one bought the other--but I don't like Paper Studio. I am using AdTech now and the refills are at Hobby Lobby too.

On the ATG--I have very small hands (ring size 4 1/2) and the ATG is too big for my hand. It is great if you have a normal sized hand...but I can't grip it right. And that make me sad... :(

eta: Tombow will not hold in humid climates FYI...I am in Dallas and in the summer every card and page fell apart...

I've used Scotch double-sided tape for my cards for years, and I've never had anything fall apart.

I'm really enjoying my Glue Arts products. My favorite feature is that I can change adhesives mid-cartridge, so if if want to use a repositionable, I can just pop in that cartridge, then pop back to my permanent. I LOVE IT!

Adtech fell apart for me, as did the new Xyron hand held roller adhesive. I use Scor-Tape with out any problems whatsoever on all my boxes and envelopes. But for cards, I prefer Mono Multi Liquid Adhesive.

I just got the repositionable one and I LOVE it too!!! Had been using CM since I bought a life time supply of adhesive refills a few years ago (no, I didn't sell CM, I was an awfully great customer at a party I went to), but I have not touched it since I got the ADTECH.

Loving my Glue Glider from Glue Arts- easy to hold (I also have small hands although fat fingers makes the ring size bigger, lol)- VERY easy on my arthritis, and holds really well.

Oh My Crafts is having a sale this weekend- you can get the glue glider pro and 4 cartridges for $22.99. Check it out HERE.

What's the difference between the types of cartridges in the offer?
2-PermaTac
1-PermaSquares
1-HighTac

I also read on the GA website that the cartridges are recyclable, do you just toss them in the plastics recycle bin or do something differently?

What she said! Plus they have acid free tape (Gold) for scrapbooking. The amount you pay for the ATG is soon recouped because the refills are so inexpensive comparatively speaking (36 yds for less than $4)

Perma tac is cut every 1/8" so you get little rectangles of adhesive; Perma square looks like the little picture tabs; either one you can use as little or as much as you want. The high tac has the adhesive applied in tiny dots in a weird shape- not sure how this is supposed to be different- I use them interchangably and they all work fine. Wish I could explain better- you can see pictures at the Glue Arts website.

All I know for sure is that I tried a friend's ATG and it was NOT for me, and that the Glue Glider is wonderful for my small hands with my arthritic fingers, and it really holds well. HTH

I love my Glue Glider too, but, since I don't worry about my adhesive being acid-free on my cards, I use the tape.

I have a friend that sells the Glue Glider Pro too. Her online store is called Scrapbook Store at your Door. I really like it! I get the refills at her store too, but in a pinch they are sold at Hobby Lobby and Archiver's too. I have seen them in various little LSS stores too. I like the size of it; I can manipulate it easily and the adhesive is very strong, and holds very well.
Before the Glue Glider, I used Adtech, and liked it a lot too, especially the price! When I go to swaps, I take both glue adhesives, and I find I am not that selective when it comes to adhesives except for one point. It must be strong, and stay in place!
I haven't tried the ATG--the price kept me back. Plus the size of the thing just seems overwhelming. I did a little looking up of adhesive runners, and the ATG has lots of great reviews--so I may invest in one someday. Just like most card makers and scrapbook makers, I love the tools of the trade-LOL!
Right now though, I use a variety of adhesives. I have the Tombo multi--green top, that I am using for my over 100 Christmas cards. It adheres the best! Only a dot in the corners and on the sides, and everything holds even with layers and thick ribbons!
I keep about three adhesives on my work table. I have more in my desk. I find some things work better than others for different things. I like having the choice to use something I think will work better than others, or is easier to apply sometimes. All three of the above have great strength, and everything stays put once glued and dried.
I think all of us use different adhesives for different needs. I like having the choice.

Another vote for ATG from framingsupplies.com

I've had mine for almost 2 years. I ordered a box of 12 refills and just recently ran out. I stamp A LOT, too. I love the way it adheres. The gun itself takes just a little getting used to. It's not heavy but it's a little bulky.

Another fan of Glu Glider. I absolutely love it. Thank you Gillian for telling me about Hobby Lobby having the cartridges. We don't have HL here on the west coast but we are going to Tennessee in a week to see our new grandson and I will shop at HL as often as I have time while there.

Another vote here for the ATG and 3M tape. I am very tiny--4'10"--and I have rheumatoid arthritis, and at times (when I've been using the ATG for long periods) my hands do tire a little more quickly than with smaller adhesive rollers. It's just one of those things where you have to decide what works best for you and your needs. Ergonomically, the ATG is a bit ungainly (I really don't understand why they don't make a smaller version) but not unbearably so.

I have recentlyl started to use the Scotch double sided tape as well as I just kept running out too quickly of mono adhesive and have not had the courage to get a big bulky ATG gun. I buy them in a 3 pack and they are relatively cheap for the amount of tape you get- even cheaper if you use a coupon at Michaels. The stuff is super strong and sticks to anything!

Love Glue Glider Pro (don't remember which type I have) and AdTech. Tried an ATG a few times but just cannot hold it well enough to have any control (too bad because it is more economical).

For cards I often use Scotch/3M double-sided tape and like it too.

I've been using the Mono Multi glue exclusively for a while. None of my cards have fallen apart.

But if I run out of glue, I have several rolls of Scotch brand double stick tape on hand.

Hello all,
I just wanted to say that the Ad Tech Dot glue runner (purple casing) is sooo much better than their regular glue runner (blue casing). I had bought a few packs of the regular one since they were so inexpensive, but they were garbage. Everything I used it on fell apart and it would get so gummed up to the point it wouldn't work anymore with more than half a roll left in the casing. Gave them all to my kids. So I was hesitant to use the new one but I took a shot and am so glad I did. My mom lives in PR and it's very humid there and everything I've sent her in the past year is still sticking and she has that stuff on display. I got her a few this summer and she loves it too. (yup, I finally got my mom into stamping. Now she understands my obssesion with rubbah). Anyway, I have tendenitis (spelling?) in both wrists and this is my substitution for the atg gun, which I love but can't use. hths.

Yippee! My first post.

I've been using Scotch-brand and a similar d/s tape for adhering layers on my cards and ATCs, and I've had no problem. For tiny pieces where the width of the d/s tape is too wide, I use 2-way glue or school glue.

Not quite the quick and easy of the glue you're sad to see go, but they do the job for me. Good luck in finding an acceptable substitute.

This is the one I have and love. I didn't realize there was another. Glad I got "the good one".

For awhile the adtech were folding back on themselves and I had to open them up and hand roll it once. Haven't had that problem in almost a year. Mine don't really get gummed up. I'll also try the purple case with the dots.
