Default Light Blue Ink?

Can anyone recommend an ink pad in a shade of blue lighter than Stampin' Up's Bashful Blue? I'm looking for something more of a sky blue shade - just really light and pretty for sponging sky backgrounds.

Thanks for your help!

Stampin' Up had a color called Soft Sky (it is a retired In-Color). Posting an ISO on the B/S/T forum migth find someone willing to sell or trade a pad.

I personally like Bashful Blue as well as Brilliance Pearlescent Sky Blue for this purpose so that's the only lighter blue I can think of.

Hope you find what you need!

Colorbox Chalk Inks have a soft blue that I don't remember the name of, and Memento has a soft blue (sky blue), I think. Another online store that has some ink pads and one of them is a blue especially for skies is www.alextamping.com .

Ice Blue--one of my most oft used colors! I love it!

Ranger's Adirondack "Cloudy Blue" is pale and pretty if you want a true dye ink. The Ice Blue Fluid Chalk is lovely though!

Oh my - you guys rock! Thanks for the suggestions!! There's more choices than I thought. I'll see which of those my LSS has! I know they carry those brands everyone mentioned so it shouldn't be hard to find.

I love the color range of the Adirondack dye inks--I'll hafta keep my eye out for Cloudy blue!

I so wish Ranger would release them in cubes, as opposed to full pads, tho--I seem to like working with that size better.

Bring something bold stamped with bashful blue to be able to do some sort of comparison (I realize you probably won't be able to actually use the inks but holding a stamped sample to each pad can make a more informed decision possible.)

And, please let us know which blue you choose!

Cloudy blue is a slightly grey shade of blue IYSWIM but pretty! Ranger don't seem to go in for small versions of any of their stuff, do they? The only one I can think of is the Perfect Medium cubes that come in the Perfect Pearls kits with the four colours and the brushes. Maybe you should start a lobbying campaign Julie, woman of your influence should be able to pull that one off ;) :-D

Hope you find what you need Mitzi!

Riiiiiiiiiiiight.

:p As if.

I'd love to have some influence. Somewhere. Anywhere! You know, for my own private agenda and personal crafting preferences. ppppffffffffffffttttt!!!

Actually, I did suggest the cubes, but was told: The cost to manufacture the smaller cubes is very nearly the same as the full-size pads so, from a business standpoint, there's no point in manufacturing a product you can't profit from. Which, *sigh*, I do understand all too well--waaaaaah!

But, the stamper in me still wants those cute, and ever so maneuverable cubes! *chuckle*

Right there with you!

Interesting though - I wonder how Clearsnap and Tsukineko manage it?! I guess they could be using the cubes, cats eyes and dew drops as loss leaders in the hope of luring us all into the full size pads further down the line but it seems unlikely somehow!
