If you check Google for freebies, there are quite a few out there. I've found plaids, floral, and geometric patterns.

I have used digital paper from several sites but you must purchase it although the cost is reasonable. You can find a nice selection at PCcrafter.com, letteringdelights.com and daisiecompany.com. I like how they often send you a link for a freebie as well if you sign up for their email.
Two things - the results depend a lot on the quality of paper you print on.
And, because you're covering a large solid area, it uses a lot of ink.
If you are into Asian look at all, check out the Canon 3D papercraft site; they have a bunch of chiyogami designs, mostly in three different colourways per design. http://cp.c-ij.com/en/contents/2004/list_15_1

If you're using the kits for scrapbooking, you'll want to download the full-size sets; if you're just making cards, the tagger size ones usually work just fine.
There are all kinds of digital paper available (both free and for purchase), I'm a digital scrapper so I have a hard drive full of it LOL! I also designed my own digital scrap kits a few years back. The paper is important - I use Epson Premium Presentation Paper for craft projects if I want a crisp clean print, Cardstock for a muted, slightly muddy look. It will use a lot of ink, but I can also have any paper in any color in a matter of minutes, without leaving home! Check out http://ikeagoddess.blogspot.com/ for lists of places to download freebies.
I have not gotten into this, as, I'm unsure if the printer ink is worth the expense.
Are these freebies, and purchases, a one time use? or to use as often as you like as digi images?

This was one of my 'worries' too, but on he other hand: I usually buy paperblocks with different (coordinated) papers and end up with a bunch of unused sheets. Maybe it's getting too expensive to print your own paper when making tons of cards? But for a few cards you could just print the needed paper and won't have any leftover sheets from a whole block.
i am new to this and have tried it. It just ate up a whole color ink cartridge with very few sheets of cardstock (maybe 5 sheets )! So I tried it again, and the same thing...myHP 6400 printer must be using way too much ink. At $25 a cartridge- this was not a good idea. I must be doing something wrong....so now I have spent $50.00 on cartridges and $3.50 on the digi paper and have 8 sheets of paper...what's with this? Marilyn
I think it would be a lot more expensive to print your own paper than to just buy it. There is sooooooooo much of it out there now, you can always find some pretty papers on sale. Just my 2 cents.
