Square Cards and Postage

What is the smallest square card that can be mailed and what is the postage on any size square cards? Thanks!!!

The only sizes I've sent out are the 5x5 and 6x6 sizes. And I did have to pay extra for them.

It's about .13 to .20 more.

The surcharge for a square card is 17 cents I think (so 61 cents?). I think it's 20 cents extra for a card that's "non-machinable" (too many lumps, inflexible, etc.). I dunno what the smallest allowable size is.

4 1/4" x 4 1/4" square cards will fit in standard A2 (invitation size) envelope, then you can mail without extra postage

It now costs 64cents to mail a square envelope. I mail everything between 4 and 6 inch square, but I don't know how little or how big you can go.

I should also add that I find it handy to keep 10cent stamps at home for my square cards. Then I can just add two of them to the regular .44 stamps.

When I buy books of stamps, I buy sheets of .17 cent stamps to put on the envelopes that I mail the bumpy cards in.. or the square ones. I keep .10 cent stamps on hand as well. Saves me some time from having to go to the post office to mail something.

I just went to the post office this morning to find out if some of my friends Christmas cards would need extra postage and the clerk weight it and measured it (8 1/4" x 5 3/4") and since it was so light, the cost was a regular 44 cent stamp.
