Have y'all seen the sweet new punches at Mikes? There's BIG ones and the border/corner combo packs! So cool! I got garden trellis, but it was a hard choice!
yes..I got a lot of them already..using the 45% off coupons at Mikes. My store lets me have up to 6 seperate transactions so I can make fewer trips....This release is just awesome...but wait til you see the November release...They are just breathtaking...cant wait to get them...lol
blessings.
Before I left on vacation, I put out new MS punches. They're enormous. Absolutely beautiful. They're not the around the corner punches, put beautiful lace-like designs. Couldn't help but come home with a few. They're in the MS aisle near her regular punches. Check them out!!!
I hope you all have better luck with MS punches than I have had. After purchasing the lace doiley punch several months ago, I swore I would never buy another MS punch. Many others had the same problem. Many of her punches just will not punch cleanly through cardstock. I was told they are made only for lightweight paper, not cardstock. I'll be curious to see if she's improved them, since the company was definitely bombarded with calls from unhappy consumers....many of them from SCS.
Is there a place to see the releases as they come? I went to my Mike's this morning, and they were already low on the new stuff. :(
You can check out some of the new ones at www.franticstamper.com
in her Martha Stewart section.
I'm so glad she has pictures of them. Makes me want them!

DANG you... quite enabling me!!! *grin* I love my punches and use them all way more than my Sizzix or my Cruicut. IDK there is just something about punches, you grab one and squeeze and you're done! Use them all the time for cards and for scrapbook pages! LOVE them.

I'm thinking it's more because they are so intricate, than that they aren't made properly. I have a Fiskars punch that is intricate and have the same problems with it. In fact, any brand of punch I have that is more intricate has this problem. I find I have to put the punch on a hard surface and get the lever action just right (sometimes putting the pressure in a different spot on the handle), and then the MS punches will punch just fine on SU c/s. Some of the other brands (including Creative Memories) will stick in punched position with the SU c/s...and I have tried the wax paper and alum foil. That helps but does not completely eliminate the problem.

Saw the stamp/punch combo by MS. Was thinking of getting one but you need a special stamp pad and the Michael's where I was didn't have the stamps so passed. Did look interesting though.
I got the butterfly stamp and punch combo, but when I tried it, one of the little tips of the butterflies wings didn't punch correctly. I returned it, I think I like the other punches better than the stamp punch combos. I got several of the border punches this week, they let me use coupons. I thought the happy birthday one was nice, got it today.
I bought one of the punch stamps- the 5 pointed flower. It took me forever to realize that the stamp was NOT deformed, two were tightly stuck together back to back and looked like one with a lump in the middle of the back (DUH) and there was a third stamp inside the holder that had to be pried out. Anyway, thank goodness I realized what was wrong before I threw it away ! I used my regular stamp pads. The stamps work beautifully, then the punch cuts beautifully. I love it !
And just as an FYI, my Mike's had their Halloween ones on clearance for $5-$7 for single and borders. I know how you all are organized and prep for next year. ;)

sanymitter, I think the new punches are a reply to all those complaints. They are called "Deep Edger" punches as they make a deeper cut in the paper (or so they claim). I don't have them so not sure how true it is but thought would share this piece of info.

Really? I thought they were called that b/c they cut a deeper design into the paper away from the edge. Wonder which of us was misinformed. Oh well, we're on SCS, someone will straighten us out.
I bought TWO of the new deep edger punches on Saturday. I cant wait to try them. I will try to do it this evening. There are more I want. My Michaels will let me have separate transactions so I can buy several at a time with coupons. I got 4 one day with the 45% off coupons...what a steal!...These are really gorgeous punches. I have a 8 Ikea racks about full of her punches already...lol

Now I'm not sure what deep edger means  Can someone who has bought these punches (and we know there are lot of you ) confirm what the "deep edger" means??
