Default how bad does it look if your

card front is Kraft paper, and the card base itself is white? I only have a little of the Kraft and trying to conserve!

I often use a different colour of card front on a white base. Just make sure that you don't trim it too close to the fold, leave a fraction over.

Why don't you try it and see if you like it? I think all these questions of how something looks are really in the eye of the beholder.

I make all my actual cards from white cardstock and cover the front with whatever. Sometimes I leave a border, sometimes not. But the inside is always white, which I like the look of for the sentiment or writing by hand. Many people use colored cardstock and like it that way.

There are no absolute "rights or wrongs" in papercrafting really.

well, to me, I do not think I will like the look, but the cards will be sent or given as gifts, so I think I will just go for it!

It'll look fine! I always like to leave a border, though, rather than making the front the same size as the base -- makes it look intentional and more polished, rather than like I just slapped it on the base as an afterthought, KWIM? ;)

Edie, here's another option for your consideration:

if it's the contrast between the kraft and white that you don't care for, try sponging the back of the white card base lightly with a coordinating ink. In SU's palette, I'd start with Sahara Sand, hit with a couple of dabs of maybe Close to Cocoa.

I wouldn't feel bad about going with the plain white, though.

Ninety eight percent of my cards have a white card base and I create the card front on that. Most of the time it's because I want to conserve the more expensive, colored cardstock. And sometimes it's because my card background is very dark and I don't want to have to add a white layer on the inside for a writing surface. I have never had any of my recipients tell me that they didn't like my card because it had a different colored card front and a white card base.

Same for me - my card bases are always white and I leave a small white border around the whole card. Once you start layering I think you will be ok with the look.

I use Kraft mounted on white ALL THE TIME.. I make so many cards that I have to do this. I think it looks GREAT!
Blessings.
