Default Discounted Ribbon Company

A while back someone had posted a website where you could purchase spools of grosgrain ribbon, similar to the Stampin up stuff, but for really CHEAP.

If you still have that address, can you post it again? I'm wondering if they have the gingham grosgrain ribbon & in what colors.

Thanks girlies!

I just bought a bunch of ribbon from JKMRibbon.com and it should be coming on Thursday! They have grosgrain from Offray (the brand that SU's grosgrain is) and Organdy from Morex (the brand that SU's organdy is). The 1/4" grosgrain is around 2.50 for 100 yards (they don't sell the 1/4" in smaller rolls).

Because they are a wholesale discount place, they gather small orders and wait to ship them all out at once, so you may have to wait up to two weeks if you order right after they shipped out a batch. I was lucky and it was only a couple of days before they shipped mine out. They have very good communication and I recommend them. It's a little odd to log on at first, though. You have to sign in, and then they give you a code. You'll have to look at their "how to order" page, because it's a little kooky until you get used to it.

Someone also recommended saveoncrafts.com (there might be some hyphens in the website name, not sure). They had some super deals, but there wasn't too much left by the time I got there. I thought JKM ribbon had a better selection.

HTH!

I believe it is www.save-on-crafts.com I ordered a bunch of ribbon from there after I saw a post on here. I just looked and their grosgrain ribbon is still on sale for $4.99 for 100 yards. I got mine a couple of weeks ago and it looks just like Stampin Ups. I'm really pleased with it.

You must register and then sign in with the ID and password they give you to see the wholesale prices at JKM. You also must purchase at least $25 to get the deals. But that's not hard to do. ;)

I registered and I put in amounts as if it was already $25 worth of stuff. But, I still see it as 8.80/100 yds.

I just registerd too and only see the 8.80 price.

If anyone knows how to get the cheaper price mentioned earlier, will you please post it here?

Thanks!

Ok, I'm an idiot! The price is $8 for 100 yards. The organdy was $2.50 for 25 yards. Sorry about that! I decided against the grosgrain because I didn't want 100 yards of any one color, and I ended up just buying the organdy. I'm so sorry to confuse everyone!!!

Would anyone be interested in doing a ribbon split?
How many yards per person? What colors?

100 yds for $8.00 is a good price.

Let me know if you are interested.

I went to the www.save-on-crafts.com and they had a variety of different colors in the grosgrain 1/4. You get 100 yards for $4.99. I though that was a great deal.

If it's JKM Ribbon you're talking about (and not Save-on-crafts), they have more than black, white, navy in 1/4" grosgrain (Offrey)... I just checked and they have:

white, black, light pink, red cranberry, bluebird, royal, light orchid, delphinium, apple green, spring moss, maize, yellow gold, and cream

and those are just the colors that SU carries. They have plenty more to buy, too!

I'm pretty sure that Save-on-crafts has a better price on it too, if you're not a demo and don't need to stick with the brand/exact colors that SU uses. That's the reason I went with JKM Ribbon. I read in the other thread about this topic that the save-on-crafts brand is not the same and has a slightly different feel to it.

I hope that I have not caused major ribbon confusion... there I was, trying to be helpful because you have all helped me SOOOO much on various topics without even knowing you did, and I got a little bit ahead of myself in my eagerness. I'm sorry.

Are those of you who order from the place that carries the brands that SU sells demos? Just wondering... I haven't bought a lot of ribbon yet, but I'm trying to buy from myself. And I want my customers to see the same product they'll get when they order.

Just wondering... I love SU's ribbon and am ordering a little at a time.

On the www.reasonable ribbon.com she has a chart that tell you what is the same as the SU! ribbons. I have also ordered both at the same time from SU! & Debbie to compare for myself and so far the colors that I have ordered have been identical but I haven't ordered everything yet... LOL!!! Yes I am addicted to all the fun accessories too!!! You can also send an email to her and ask if you could purchase a sample to compare the colors yourself. She might do this. I haven't tried since I use alot for personal use and the kids' use but you never know unless you ask! Worse case scenario, purchase the minimum cuts and then use them personally. It is gorgeous ribbon at an awesome price.

I've ordered from JKM Ribbon several times and had wonderful luck with them. I buy mostly SU colors; however, I did buy Navy and Hot Pink and they are so pretty. They match Night of Navy and Passion Pink perfectly.

BTW - they also have 1/4" gingham in several colors (including 3 of our new SU colors). A 10 yd roll for $4.90. It's by Offray and they call it Micro Check.

Ok, I found the gingham and it's not really a better deal than stampin up's ribbon. At SU it is $7.95 for 15 yards of gingham & at JKM Ribbon it works out to be $9.80 for 20 yards. I'm gonna just order it from SU in January so that the order counts toward sell-a-bration.

I think the JKM is a better deal if you're buying the solid colors.

lzappa,

What are you looking at at JKM Ribbon? I'm coming up with $8.80 for 100 YARDS of 1/4 inch ribbon which is much better than SU's prices. I'm wondering what I am missing???

jkmribbon has 110 yard spools (Morex brand, 3/8" country check gingham) for $39.30. Shipping will vary your cost per yard, but for me here in NJ it would be roughly $0.39/yard.

Question is....is Morex the mnfr of SU gingham. I have 22 yard spools of gingham from Morex in the four colors that SU offers in the mini catty; however, my order from SU just shipped today, and ship times from UT to NJ are seven days

I just wanted to say that while she is great and they have excellent customer service. The ribbon is not the same as SU. It has a stiffer feel to it. I just wanted to be honest about that. There were some samples of other ribbons and great prices. But it is a bit stiffer and shinier....maybe more polyester??

I haven't had that problem with any of the colors that I have bought from her at all! EVER!!! She just sent me a color chart for the grosgrain ribbon and it is identical to SU!'s (the feel, texture & color)
as for the organdy ribbons that I have purchased they also had everything to be identical in color, texture & feel to be identical to SU!
Granted I haven't purchased every color from her and compared it but the ones I have bought have been great!

I've ordered from www.papermart.com,

Here's part of an earlier post after I got my ribbon:

I bought a bunch of organza sheer ribbon from www.papermart.com after seeing a prior post and thought folks might be interested in knowing that it goes really well with SU paper and the price was GREAT - $2.35/25 yds of 7/8" ribbon. Comes in six widths from 1/4" thgough 2 3/4".

Here's the color report about how it matches to SU paper - can't tell how it matches SU ribbon (except for Royal, as noted below) because I don't have any, but I'll check w/ a demo friend's samples & let you know.

Light Pink ribbon: perfect match to Pretty in Pink paper

Royal ribbon: matches Brilliant Blue paper. I have a small sample of the SU Royal ribbon and it's almost indistinguishable.

Light blue ribbon: very close to Brocade Blue; also looks good with Bordering Blue & Ballet Blue.

Wine ribbon: perfect match to Baroque Burgundy

Jade ribbon: close to Taken with Teal; perhaps a slight bit greener but looks great with T with T. Also looks good with Tempting Turquoise.

Old Willow ribbon: matches Melow Moss, also looks good with Old Olive & other EE colors.

Toffee ribbon: Doesn' seem to match anything exactly but goes great with Creamy Caramel and looks very good with all the Confetti colors and quite a few of the EE colors.

Ivory ribbon: Very cool with Confetti Cream, Confetti Tan, Natural Ivory, Creamy Caramel, etc. as well as EE colors. Really pretty ribbon.

Old Gold ribbon: doesn't really match anything but goes well with a lot. It's a little darker than More Mustard.

I bought 12 rolls of organza (two rolls each ivory & white and one roll of all the other colors above) plus one 100 ft. roll of white grosgrain ($7.30) for $47.22 including shipping.

I just wanted to apologize for the wording that might look like I was saying you were being dishonest about the quality of her ribbon. I was only trying to say that while I loved the customer service and the company I wanted to be honest about MY opinion of the ribbon. I didn't mean for that to sound like you were not being honest. Maybe I am just really picky I apologize for the confusion.

Default My $.02 on ribbon soucres

I took the suggestion of previous posters and gave really reasonable ribbon a try. I received my ribbon today and am very pleased with it. I recommend it to anyone looking for reasonably priced ribbon in a variety of colors. With quick shipping. The 100 yds for $4.99 at Save on crafts is a nice quality grosgrain but many of the colors are out of stock right now. JKM takes a long while to ship and I was not overly impressed with the ribbon quality.

Here is the link for Sav-On-craft ribbon. It is still $4.99 for 100 yards. It is exactly the same as SU.

Here is the link for Sav-On-craft ribbon. It is still $4.99 for 100 yards. It is exactly the same as SU.

This link is for all of their $4.99 ribbon. I received great service, quick delivery and the quality was wonderful.

I bought 3/8" & 7/8" organdy ribbon from PouchMart & LOVE it!! I found it to be very close, if not identical to SU! organdy ribbon (I have examples of each of SU!'s, Thanks Shauna!!). I wasn't into ribbon before, but now
