NOV09VSNMINI1 ~ SATURDAY, OCTOBER 24, 2009 ~ 6 PM EST ~ GET IN THE PARTY MOOD
Title:GET IN THE PARTY MOOD Hostess:Meg (mtgchic) Keyword: NOV09VSNMINI1 Day/Date:Saturday, October 24, 2009 Time: 6:00 PM (EST)
It's time to start getting ready for our Masquerade Ball, and the first step for getting ready for any ball is to get in the party mood. And what better way to get in the party mood than to start thinking about holiday celebrations...Halloween,Thanksgiving,Hanukkah, Christmas, New Year's, even Valentine's Day will be here before you know it! < as well as National Men Make Dinner Day (Nov 5), Festivus (Dec 23) and Groundhog Day (Feb 2) >
But remember this isn't just any ol' holiday party, it's a Masquerade Ball! So...
Your challenge is:Make a card with a holiday stamp masquerading as a different holiday.
Add some snow to a haunted house for a Christmas card. Turn a Christmas tree into a party hat. Why do doves have the monopoly on Valentine's? Can't two turkeys fall in love? < and using a Christmas tree with the phrase "got wood?" could be used for both Arbor Day and Valentine's Day! >
Don't forget to use the keyword, NOV09VSNMINI1 when uploading your creation!
1. ALL VSN CREATIONS MUST BE UPLOADED BY 10:00 PM EST ON MONDAY, OCTOBER 26.
2. You have 45 minutes to complete the challenge.
3. Please remember to put in the correct keyword, NOV09VSNMINI1 , when uploading your image. Copying and pasting the challenge keyword is recommended to avoid typos.
It is also highly recommended that you post a link to your creation in the chat thread just in case the gallery is being testy.
So what does everyone like to do to get in a party mood? I love turning on some Spice Girls (for girl's night out) or Van Morrison (for a hot date night) while putting on fancy makeup.
Just got back from Red Lobster with my DH and ready to par-teeeh! Off to see what kind of stamp I can use! It will be fun to see what everybody comes up with on this one!

here is my card - I used an originally spring/summer Kinkade stamp for a christmas card: Christmas Barn
Wow! I thought you were cheating and using a winter scene! I would have never guessed that there were leaves on the tree to start with!! And the snow is the perfect touch!!
Great job to both of you ladies for starting the gallery off with a bang!
Maybe cuz she doesn't need to look them up.....I'd need to....what's in a amaretto sour? Besides of course Amaretto?
2 parts amaretto 1 part simple syrup 1 part lemon juice shaken and poured over ice = 1 glass of pure happiness. For all the gals that like their drinks to taste like candy.

Hmmmm....simple syrup...what is that? Corn syrup?

You are welcome--if you want to be really crazy, you can add a part of OJ, too, for a little more citrus flavor. I'm pretty sure that's what McCormick's & Shmidt's does, and theirs is delish!
I added crystal effects to the eyeballs since I took the photo - makes the eyes look more googly.
OMG! This is sooooo perfect!!!! My DH has been calling me Rudolph all day due to my stupid cold, but I would have never put two and two together to make a get well card! I'm just loving the outside-the-boxness I'm seeing!
