I love my blender pens - and a question about them!!

These blender pens are the greatest things ever!!! I already had chalks AND Cretacolor chalk pencils, so I haven't purchased the SU Pastels yet. But I love being able to use the blender pens to take the color off my Cretacolor (chalk) pencils and color with them. It makes me look like an artist when I'm most definitely NOT!

Anyway, I was reading another post about blender pens, and someone mentioned that you can use them with your Classic ink pads?? How do you do this?? That would be awesome!! Do you get the color right from the pad itself, or do you push on the lid and get the color from there??

I take the color right from the pad and "color" with it just like using a marker. Works great if you don't have that particular marker, even if you do, sometimes it is quicker to just color in that way!

I always push on the cover a bit to get some of the ink on it & then use the blender pen to pick it up & color away! You are right. The blender pens are the best.

I also push the lid up against the pad and get my color from the lid! They are my favorite accessory and I sell them almost every time I demonstrate them!

Have you tried them with watercolor pencils yet?

And don't forget that to clean them, you just scribble the color off! :-)

I do both the push method and directly taking the ink off the pad. I love mine and have about worn one out!

I pushed the lid and used the tops on the old ink pads, but with the new ones I just roll it in the pad itself. I love my blender pens and did not even buy the markers.

I like to use them with classic pads because it's a lighter color than you get with the marker

I like to push my lid on the ink pad and then "lift" off some ink with the blender pen for a nice watercolor effect. I did try the direct method of touching the blender pen to the ink pad surface after I went to a stamp camp and the demo showed us how to color in that way. BUT! but, when I tried that method at home once, I later saw that my ink pad at the corner (cuz that's what I was told to use, the corner only) the material was a little higher or lifted from the rest of the pad (?) So I stopped doing that because I like my pads to last as long as possible and I invested a lot of money to get ALL the colors this past year in the new pads, after having the earlier style pads last me 5 whole years!

After using the blending pen, how do you "clean" the color off? I have always used a waterbrush, does the blender pen work the same way?

When you're done using the blender pen, just scribble on a scratch piece of paper until the ink runs clear. Then it's ready for the next color. These are absolutely FANTASTIC! I have been using them quite a bit lately. Of course, you can see from my gallery that I've been using my Watercolor Pencils quite a bit as well!

As a new demonstrator, there is SO much i want to get! LOL...
I'll have to make a very long list and let all my family know what I want and give them the name to one of my upline people, or better yet, my first recruit that I hope to have very soon, so they can order from her and I'll get a rebate on my gift as well. :lol:
