PLEASE HELP..CARDS NEEDED FOR WOUNDED TROOPS BACK FROM WAR!!

Hello,
I am a Military wife that is trying to put together a Cards for wounded troops just back from the WAR. I live and work at WALTER REED HOSPITAL where the troops are all sent to be fixed after all they have done for us I think we could all get together and get them cards.I would love for you all to help me I cant do it by myself.I know people have cards going to the war but I would like to have help doing this one for guys and gals hurt in the war and are hear in the DC area for all the treatment until they can go home or back to there units. I know we all have cards or fronts we can turn easy to cards that we dont use or are ret. and the demos cant use so they can do a great thing.PLEASE HELP ME.

PS I am looking at Thank you cards,glad your home,just because,general cards ,Hello,What ever you could spare would be great one or one hundred... birthday because we would have no idea when there birthdays are these would need to be blank with a note for them to have a card to send to someone they love..You could right a little note and tell them what state you are from ECT.I think it would be great.
I wish you could all come see this is a sad place and this would make some troops so happy to know someone away from here cares and they are more then just a name on a chart.

ALSO I have had some questions about the cards Please if you want to right a note that would be GREAT if not just sigh your name and your state.Blank carde will be left at the nurses station for the guys and gals to use to send home if they would like.If you want to make a letter/note on your puter to put in the card that is great I will copy it off adn put it in all your cards and they could reuse the card if they would like that is killing 2 birds with one stone a thank you and a card. what ever you want to do is just great.
ALSO they do not need to be man or woman cards funny or silly will be great too.whatever for a girly card would be great too. it is not a really picky thing just a lobor of love from Americans.....
P.S. I got a box today and Birthday cards are great.She sent them blank so the TROOPS could have something to send home That was a great idea.I need all the help with theis I can get THANKS SO MUCH.
ALSO IT IS IMPORTANT THAT IF YOU SEND AN ENVELOPE YOU NOT SEAL IT!! DUE TO THE ANTHRAX NOTHING SEALED GETS IN OR OUT LIKE THAT>it is sad but that is the way it is in this day and age now.
ALSO IF YOU HAVE ANY OLD HOLIDAY CARDS THAT WOULD BE GREAT ALSO. IF YOU WANT TO HELP THIS IS A HEARTFELT JOINT Effort I am PROUD to be part of........These guys and gals are being left behind.It is so so sad there are around 1,400 EACH month WOUNDED it is the sad part that we dont see on tv.We only know if some poor soul is killed and most have no idea how many are hurt so bad each month.this could be your child,mom,dad,cousin,niece or nephew.I can bet you all have a kid from home that is there or going there.......GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS!!

Hello ladies just an update We have 463 cards so far Great..But we are needingf as many more as you can send.We get about 1400 a month wounded com in and this is a great program Thanks so all who have helped and Please help if you can.

I am going to set up a get together with a bunch of my customers to see if we can get 100+ done in a day ~ assembly line style. I will probably be doing this the Sundaythe 28th or Sunday the 4th of December. If I get them out right away will it be okay to do Christmas for them to send to family or should I work on another theme?

UPDATE: I am so so glad all of you are helping this project out.They are shure going to make these troops happy.We have had a 3rd drop and have had a totalnow of 956 cards come in.GREAT

This is a post that will keep going until the last troop from the war goes home. We are at a great mile stone 1000 was hit and now we are at 1123. I am so thrilled. KEEP THEM COMMING. Christmas is great but all occasions are needed to. waht ever you can send is great.

Hello again,
I want to let you all know that cards are still needed. This is an ongoing thing so keep them comming. This is a great way to stamp for a reason.LOL Most of us dont need a reason BUT we need something to do with our creations. These dont need to be fancy just love in them. ALSO SCOUT leaders,Teachers, Youth groups ect cards from the kids are a great thing. Just remember not to seal the envelopes due to security.
It is great to put a note inside to let them know you care and thanking them for there service to our great nation. also your town and state is great. whatever you want to do just keep them comming. ALSO LOVE style cards are needed soon for them to send home for the ones they love.

I sent some for the troops themselves, and some blank ones for them to send out to their families and friends.

WELL GIRLS I AM SHOCKED we have together hit the great number of 2374. WOW I want to just sit and cry it is so beautiful to see the looks on the hospital staff when I bring them in.I can tell you they are so greatful and a little overwhelmed. with the outpouring of love in the USA. I want you all to know it is a beautiful thing and you should all be proud....
I dont know how many of you know that I am the Mayor of my Village and whit this I have to do things I like and that I dont BUT the BIG ONE this week was... MR & MRS BUCH came to my base and packed boxes at the USO with us about 90 people and packed care boxes to send to troops in IRAQ. He and his wife were very gracious and yes even to the non supporters. Funny he is not as big as I would have thought.... Well I have a bunch of busy work in the morning so I must run I will chat more later.

You are all so so great. I did get a bunch of cards that I put up for next year for Christmas. It is still a week+ process for the troops to get them after they get to the hospital. They still have to go through a screaning process BUT they dont have to go to the radiation machines. THAT is a really good thing. They will melt a lot of things.LOL All the cards comming in are so great. I did send some to Walter Reeds "DC SISTER" Bethesda for we got a ton of holiday cards adn I thought the Marines that are there could use a pick me up also. NOw I am taking them to BOTH hospitals so keep them comming adn the love will show them we all care.......

Hi, Monica. I sent hundreds of cards to Iraq before Christmas, but the XO I was sending them to to share has GONE HOME! Now, I will send cards to you. I have a few valentines done and will make up some more. The ladies in my stamp club will be contributing, too. These cards will be ones left blank so the troops can use them to send to their valentines. We'll provide an envelope with each card, too, unsealed, of course.

I love to have a good place to send cards and Walter Reed and Bethesda are the best. Because of all the body armor, our troops are surviving horrendous wounds and anything to cheer them up is high on my list.

Great job Monica!! Could you give us a ballpark figure on how many there are, how long they stay and any other info you can? I have more in the making to send to you this month.

If any other SCS have card fronts but not full cards and don't have the time or $ to make them into full cards w/ envelopes I'd be happy to do that and send them along to Monica for the troops. I seem to run out of ideas more often then cardstock! :lol: If you'd like to PM me and we can work out the details. Thanks!

It is rough to know really form monthe to month how comes and goes.Some are there for a few days then off to a diff. hospital and some are there for months.IT is really not something that can be pin pointed. I do also take them to Bethesda.THis is where most Marines end up...I am all about lmaking htese guys have a little taste of home.Also I thin it is nice for the familys that come in to see someone cares about there troop.
