You can join our incredible papercrafting community at NO COST. So what are you waiting for?
New Years brings resolutions that often have us pushing away sweets and treats, but with this project, we can still enjoy them guilt free! Make a sweet card that uses candy or sweet treats as its theme, whether you use images of candy or cake or other sweets or somehow incorporating candy into your project.
Bonus: Kick it Up a Notch: Use the color theme from the packaging of your favorite candy bar/treat as you create your project. Totally optional, but a suggestion for anyone wanting more of a challenge.
Bonus 2: Make a sweet card and matching treat bag/box/container appropriate for gift giving! Again, optional, but if you have time remaining at the end of the challenge, might as well spend it stamping something to match.
What you need:
Lots of freedom with this challenge. Just use your imagination and create something that uses stamps related to something sweet.
Need some inspiration? There have been lots of recent gallery submissions that are candy/cookie/cake related.
What's included?
Anything sugary! I have a pretty broad definition of what I consider sweet treats, so feel free to play away! Candy, Cookies, Cakes, Coffees, Cocoas, Caramel Corn
IMPORTANT: Please make sure you type JANVSNG (all caps) into the keyword field when uploading so that your entry will be included for judging. Have your stuff posted by noon Saturday (Central Time).
Get your sugar fix without consuming calories!
GO BE CREATIVE!!!!
Thanks for playing!
DO NOT FORGET TO PUT JANVSNGIN THE KEYWORDS LINE WHEN YOU UPLOAD!!!!

And I just had a hunk of my Symphony bar for dessert...
That was after we spilled a glass of water across the desk where the cards were waiting to be uploaded...

I've been there! Last VSN, as a matter of fact. At least I did it after they had been uploaded. But mine was a big tumbler full of coffee and sweet cream... it was a sticky mess...
When your cards dry, just say you were going for the distressed look!

Ok, I didn't have any candy stamps, so I used Fun with Shapes and made peppermints. I jsut used red marker on the circles and made the outline and swirls. Then I used the bow stamp to look like the wrapper ends. I thought I had some of these candies, but I only had the spearmint kind, so I dangled one off the cord. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
Well, I do have several candy sets, and I was going to use All Wrapped Up and the accessories, or Sweet of You, but then I decided to go with a different concept on the theme...what do you think?
Here's mine. It sure is taking forever to upload tonight and somehow I ended up with two pictures of this in my gallery... don't know how I managed that. Oh well.... I enjoyed the challenge and I think my girlfriend will receive this with a necklace I made for her inside.... call it eye candy!
I had trouble loading this page last night and when it finally did load there were two copies so I deleted one of them and then lost the thumbnail altoghther.... go figure? So I went in and did an edit to add the thumbnail back in this morning.... hope that didn't confuse anyone.
