1. the act or process of organizing.
2. the state or manner of being organized.
3. something that is organized.
4. organic structure; composition: The organization of this painting is quite remarkable.
For many years, I have searched for what I called "balance" in my life. Those that have the ability to flow easily from one activity to another really fascinate me.
Someone once asked me what my creative process was. My best explanation was to refer them to the movie Edward Scissorhands. You know the scene where he goes after the ice block with his scissorhands and creates a beautiful sculpture. Imagine the ice flying every direction (insert picture of my paper flying here).
Every time I look around my disorganized space, I can hear my mother's voice saying "Everything has a place and everything in it's place". Well, my mom passed away way too young to pound that lesson into my head.
We moved from New York to Colorado last year to help my aunt Marci who is battling cancer for the 6th time. My DH, I and our four large boys crammed ourselves into their tiny little house for as long as they could stand us. In March, we finally found a house to rent. With three bedrooms and six people, we had a dilemma as to where everyone would sleep. My youngest son came to me and said he would live in the basement so I could use the small bedroom for my studio. He is nearly 15 yrs old now and has not privacy to speak of. I would love to give him back his bedroom and move my studio (with help of the Workbox!) to a corner of the livingroom.
Honestly, I can not think of a single reason I NEED this more than anyone else. I have never put my needs ahead of others. I have been a caretaker my entire life. But, I want it. I want to be organized. I want to be able to find the right embellishment at the right time. I want to make my mother proud.
I know in my heart that the right person will win this fabulous prize. I wish everyone much blessings in this fun endeavor.
God bless you and your Family Holly! You are a wonderful caretaker and your Family is blessed to have you! We all need more space it is a necessity I tell ya :-) Enjoy the contest and good luck!
Ok, I wasn't going to pull the ''I'm such a mess" card out, but I'm getting desperate!
We haven't seen my MIL in over a year as she lives 1500 miles away. I really want to fix this room so that it can double as a guest room. She's 83 yrs old and we don't know how many more years we have with her.
Look at this mess! (and trust me, this is actually GOOD)
Girl, you're as deserving as anyone I know. We are relatives and I've only met you once. I have enjoyed getting to know you thru fb and to see the creations you have made has been a huge influence on my crafting. I haven't been doing this long, yet to see what I have stocked up in such a short time it looks like something I have to stick with and I am so looking forward to it...with your guidance... You are special to me and your talent is awesome !! Having lost your mother ,,,,I just can't imagine...Raising 4 boys...I only have 2 and I just can't imagine....and to help take care of Marci?...you're one that can do it...but how do you find the time???? So you are the person who so much needs and deserves this "organization" Scrapbox Giveaway. Good Luck....and take care of yourself too.
I was going to enter this, until I read your post. I really hope you win, you have such a deserving story! May God bless you and your family

Thanks, girls. I am torn on this. I have been a member of Splitcoasters since 2004. Ya'll know me. I don't ask for much. Never have. It's more my nature to ask for someone else. That's where I am torn. I keep reading these other pleas and thinking they deserve it so much more than I.
It makes me feel rather selfish to even be in this competition. I just keep thinking how much my family would actually gain by me moving to this type of system. I showed the scrapbox to my DH and he wanted to find a way to buy me one, but we just don't have those type of resources.
Holly, I think you're as deserving as anyone! When you are limited on space, you pretty much have to have an organization system, to let your creativity flow! I hope you win! Your cards and projects are always wonderful and of such inspiration to others!
Holly,
You are genuine
You are humble
You need this system.

Sue, thanks so much for your vote of confidence. The way I am feeling right now, organization may be the only thing to get me back to stamping regularly.
Lately I have been trying to stamp and spend way too much of my time trying to find things. It's almost comical. I will call my son up to my space and ask him if he has seen 'such n such'. He just looks at me like I am nuts!
I think I would sleep better if I were organized, too. I have nightmares about the mess!

Nah...rake the junk outta the middle of the floor and put a mattress in there, she won't care.

I just posted my own reasons why the Workbox should be delivered to my own home...I'm sorry Holly, you need to learn to clean up before you can have something that nice in your craft room!

Seriously??? That is so not right!!! I am going to start a formal protest!! Sheeeeeeeeesh!!
With all the wonderful cards you make, the inspriation you give us and the dedication to SCS web site I think you should win!
Thank you so much, Michele. That is a very sweet thing to say. I have resigned myself to the fact that I am ineligible. Now I am on a mission to make sure a worthy opponent wins .
I must say that I am a little weary of all the "new to SCS" people who have entered. Not that they don't deserve it, but I really hope it goes to a stamper who has supported SCS all along.
Not my call though! The right person will win. I have faith in that.

I have felt so much friendship from this site during this contest. Everyone has been so nice and it has been so much fun! I have to admit I've never been one to leave comments or "shared" to much. Not because I don't want to, just because I like to get a "feel" for things and people. I have to say, I fell in love with this site because of the contest. I plan on being on here and sharing A LOT more than I do anywhere else. And then I find your comment, how mean:( I hope the judges see what you wrote. EVERYONE deserves a chance with anything in life. Have you ever heard of the saying "Do on to others as you'd have done on to you." There was no rule that says you need to be a member for a certain amount of time. Hopefully not to many people saw your comment.

Wow, sorry you feel that way. I DID say that I do think that everyone deserves the prize. I just feel like "some" (definitely not all!) have jumped on the bandwagon only for the prize. This IS ONLY my opinion. I definitely could be wrong. I honestly hope I am, and in fact when I am wrong, I am the first to admit it.
I think your comment was a bit harsh. Since you don't know me from adam, I think you're jumping on me is "mean".
I did not jump on you and I made a comment because you don't know many of us either. I would hope you wouldn't judge any of us and choose not to friends because of our status of how long we been on here. I did not leave the comment to sound mean or harsh. I was hurt by the comment and I thought you should know how it may come off to some people who don't know you. Like I said before I do love this site and hope to make many friends. I would NEVER want to hurt someone's feelings. That is why I said something. I would want to know if I hurt someone. Your comment was the first I came across that could be taken hurtful on this site. I was a bit surprise by it, guess maybe a bit to surprise. I am TRULY sorry if I hurt your feelings. I will not comment or be a part of anything that I see you are on here, so we don't take each the wrong way again.

Ok, I think we can agree that you and I got off on the wrong foot. I will take the high road and admit my comment could have been construed as hurtful. I did not mean for it to come across that way and I apologize.
I am not a contestant, so I have no vested interest in the giveaway. In fact, I can honestly say I don't personally know many of the contestants, so I really am impartial. I just hope that the person who does win, shares pictures of her makeover with the community!
I have withdrawn from the contest myself. I do not know many people on here and I know I would not stand a chance for votes. I did have fun trying I have also removed all of pics. I think I will just go back to being a silent visitor every once in a while. Thanks for the hugs, back at ya

Well, I will happily share, but I am out of the contest I did not read the fine print and because of my former DD status, I am ineligible.
I craft because it is a gift I was given and I don't want to waste it. I also craft for therapeutic reasons. I have several mental disorders that make it hard for me to concentrate when under stress. Crafting brings me into focus and helps to ground me.
A certain percentage of my projects/cards go back to the companies that I work for. A larger percentage is used for fundraisers. I have sent to our troops as well. I wish to do more of that, as I currently have about 200 cards in storage that could go to good use!
I can't say what effect my crafting has had on anyone else or ''the world at large''. I may never know, but that's ok. I do know that it has helped me tremendously over the years. I have always had very low self-esteem. When I began crafting and people would tell me that they enjoyed something I made for them, it was quite a boost. I am still not as confident as I would like to be, but I take it day by day.
