This challenge was inspired by a card I saw this week by rebuh. She used paper for a ribbon flag. It's so cute! Of coarse, she was daring and used my shocking color combo of the week, so maybe that got a few points, too ;)
So, what happens when you have run out of ribbon or you don't have the right color? Maybe you just haven't been able to start a collection. Don't sweat it! Paper can be made into ribbon. I really had fun with this and spent time looking through my patterned paper scraps.
Any cardstock, paper, ink, embellishments other than ribbon, and stamps are OK to use in this challenge.
I want to thank lacyquilter for her beautiful burgundy card! That is where I got my original inspiration for doing my card!! I couldn't remember when I posted so I want to give her credit now!!
I will hopefully do more this week! Thanks Jen, for the new challenge!
Jen, Thanks for the compliment! I'm glad my card inspired someone, but as usual I got my inspiration for the paper ribbon from this website. This is so funny, because I think I got the idea from jsbrooketrout and she said she got the idea from someone else!! Isn't this a perfect example of why we LOVE SCS, all the sharing is just wonderful. It really proves that the more you give away, the more you receive. The ladies (and men, maybe) on this site are truly wonderful people! Ann

Thank you. So glad I inspire somebody! Yours is gorgeous!!!
Well, I've just only started doing these challenges a few weeks before Christmas and I found my love! To me, this is better than joining swaps because I don't have to pay for postage and I get instant ideas from everyone! Thanks for sharing your ideas and beautiful cards everyone!
And if you don't know me yet...I'm always up for a challenge! Be back later!!

Thanks so much for the challenge Jen! I have to find time for it today...I've done one for each day this week! (Might as well go for #5!) I love these challenges! They are perfect for a SCS newbie like me! Thanks again!
I love this challenge! It's perfect for those of us that don't have as many supplies as we would like. (Can you ever really have enought??) Let me see what I can do -- hopefully naptime ;asts longer today than it did yesterday.
I shutter to think that I wouldn't have THE perfect ribbon for a project. I am a hoarder - I love ribbon....now that I have paper ribbon to play with - I just doubled my supply!

This is to incredibly timely. I've had this card sitting on my desk because I couldn't figure out how to "finish" it (there being no ribbon the color I wanted). I didn't even think paper ribbon. I will get it done and loaded. Thanks for reminding me of a great idea!
I got all sorts of stamps and new ink for Christmas and then went away for 10 days so I finally get to play with my new loot! This is a neat idea and I will have to try it more often. Thanks Jen!
What a great idea. I have 10 cards (for my Xmas challenge) that I have not completed because I needed ribbon. If it works for what I have I will load it later today.

Oh how cool this challenge is - I've loved looking at everybody's great ideas! It seems I never get to participate in a challenge but today I was home with a couple extra hours, my stamping stuff was out, and I took advantage of the situation! And thanks so much Jen for the faux ribbon trick. As I mentioned on my card, I've always just stamped these ribbon stamps right onto a card, NEVER thought about cutting them out and using them this way -- I love this newly learned trick!!
My card was just approved so here's a link: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
I'm new at this; hope I did it right.

I was inspired to use Terrific Tulips by a beautiful card by bethswope. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers. This was a fun challenge Jen. You come up with good ones week after week. Thanks so much.
This is my 2nd attempt at the faux ribbon challenge and I love it...I used the dotted swiss Hero Arts set (has 5 ribbon designs and one zig zag stitch) for this one. I also used mostly the same colors as the last one, but w/a different set of stamps.

I just finished my card...this was fun. My photo was moved after it was approved but I did put the challenge number in the keywords. I still pretty new to posting and don't know where they are moving it or why. Also I am still having a problem getting the link to my photo here in my message. Could anyone give a few quick pointers. Thanks so much
Finally got mine done. Here's my paper ribbon card.I had the card all finished except for the ribbon & had a hard time coming up with some that went with the card, but didn't overpower it. The sponging was originally gray, but I had the go over it with black to accommodate the ribbon.
