What is CAS?
CAS is an acronym for Clean and Simple.
There are different ways people view CAS. It is very subjective. There is no list of rules that will fit everyone’s personal definition. The following are possible guidelines, only. Please do not feel afraid of playing in the CAS challenge or debate with yourself if you’ve created a CAS card. If it is a CAS card to you, put CAS in the keyword box.
1. Clean: the design is uncluttered with lots of white or open space. Simple: having a clear focal point without a lot going on to detract from it.
OR
2. simple in design regardless of the number of embellishments or how long it takes to color, stitch or to use a special technique
OR
3. can be copied and mass produced fairly quickly… usually without a lot of coloring, layers, embellishments, tools and/or techniques
It's a sad day because it's the last challenge of the summer and for our wonderful design team. Harriet, Ann, and Lisa have been awesome and such a great source of inspiration. I'm very grateful for their time and talent.
It also means that the submissions for the Autumn DT has closed. Our current and past design team members will select our new DT and I will break any ties if necessary. I can't wait to see who they will be. Have you seen all the stunning creations?!? The new DT members will be notified on Tuesday and an announcement will be made soon after that.
And one more thing this last day of the summer CAS challenges means... It's make-over day! Find one of your OWN cards you'd like to remake. Remember to make it CAS ;) . You can choose a CAS card that you just want to improve. OR you can find a heavily layered and embellished card to make CAS. If you can, please link the original card in your comment box.
I personally have a ton of choices since I'm an equal opportunity stamper. Besides using stamps from many companies, I make CAS and embellished cards!!!
Uploading: Remember the keyword is without spaces. Use a comma between keywords with a space after each comma.
If you are new to the challenges, please feel free to do this one or ANY of the challenges at any time. There is no time limit. They are not races to see who can do one first, nor are they contests of any sort. All the challenges are simply to provide inspiration and to get us stamping!
Need help linking a card? Follow these instructions!
1. Open 2 windows: One window for your card and one for this thread.
2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link.
3. Got to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on)
4. Click EDIT. Click COPY
5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.
You’re done!

What a great challenge! I haven't had a whole lot of time this past week to stamp, but now that my sister has gone back home (she was visiting me for a few days) and now the kids are all in bed I have some time to myself again. It's hard to believe that the summer CAS challenges are over already, where does the time go?
I'd like to say a special thank you to Ann, Harriet, and Lisa. You ladies are awesome and I loved seeing your cards each week! Also thank you, Jen for all your hard work!
Fabulous challenge, Jen! Can't wait to do something tomorrow. Like Roxie, I'm fading fast tonight!
And to Ann, Harriet, and Lisa: You three have been such an inspiration. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful cards with us for the last three months. You all ROCK!
Thanks, Jen, for being such a rockin' hostess, and to Harriet and Lisa for being such awesome ladies to work with!
I want to let everyone know I've been unable to leave comments on your cards for the past couple of weeks--some glitch with SCS, I guess--but I have been looking and LOVING what I see!
I had to post and say Thanks to all the wonderful creations the previous DT put together every week! You girls did a GREAT job! Cant wait to see the next teams creations! Good luck to everyone!!! Cookie
This will be a fun challenge! I'm sad to see the current DT go and look forward to them playing along so we can see their wonderful creations. I'm sure they will choose a fabulous new team to continue to inspire us!!!
I have really enjoyed the CAS challenges and look forward to seeing what the next team has got up their sleeves. Thanks to all the previous DT members for your inspiration. I will try to do this tonight as we are off on vacation this week. Thanks, Jen!
I've loved playing along these past few weeks and have looked forward to seeing the samples of the summer DT. Thanks ladies for all your hard work and talent!
this is a neat challenge and I've been considering doing exactly this to some of my cards (transforming them to CAS) so I've got some ideas. Unfortunately, it is sleepy time tonight so I will have to create tomorrow night instead!!
Great challenge!! I'm sure I can find plenty to redo... deciding which one will be the hard part! FOrgot to say, will miss the current design team! A fond farewell!
Would love to play later! (Dang that work thing!!)...cross your fingers that the fire that we are watching from our front window doesn't crest....don't know if I can grab all my pics AND stamps too!! hehe (gotta giggle or just get ulcers from the stress of it....pics are in the hallway....just in case...good news, we've had closer fires and nothing came of it. But we've got high temps so everything is dried out and prime kindling. No winds is a plus for now!!)

great challenge.... I have a couple of cards that I have been thinking about redoing from summer cards to holiday cards, so this is a perfect challenge for me.
Oh, fun!! I'm finally (2 months late since my husband was deployed!!) getting my hair cut today, but when I get home I'm going to definitely do this one!!! Good luck to everyone with the DT Call and THANKS to Harriet, Ann, Lisa (and of course Jen too!) for sharing your talent with use these past few months!
