Hi! Not sure if this was posted before, but I was wondering what people are using to store their copics in? I have 40 something now and plan on getting more this week-end at the "rubber stamp and scrap art tour." (Hamburg, NY)
At first I would have two or three color families in the same holder and then as I've accumulated more Copics I've picked up a few more holders so most color families have their own holder now. I've got somewhere around 200 markers and this system has worked really well for me.

Nothing exciting here: I store mine in plastic storage tubs, the kind you can use for food, toys, whatever. I have 4 (in 2 sizes) and separated them by colour (sort of).

I found this at Michael's on clearance. I've seen them there recently, but I don't think they're on clearance any more. You can always use a coupon!! It had some photo boxes in it when I bought it. I just added acrylic sheets to separate the color families. I love that it's so portable. It also worked great on a recent long road trip in the car.
my friend has about 45 and keeps them in this container too, but just one one side. she stores other stuff in the other side like her favorite copic white paper, ink pad, etc.

I love this idea, especially that they are portable. I was thinking of going to Michael's today, I think that helps make up my mind!
If you will go to www.carpediemstore.com and click on copic on the left sidebar and then click on storage you will find all kinds of storage containers for your copic markers. I have the towers that stack on top of each other. Each one hold (I think) 36 markers. The thing I love the most about this system is that I can see the end of each marker (I have sketch markers) and it has the number so I have them grouped by family and in numerical order. They also have the best price on copics. A few weeks ago they had a sale and I was able to get sketch markers for $3.56 each and no sales tax or shipping charges.
I just went and counted and you can get 54 markers in each tower and I have 3 stacked on top of each other for a total of 164 markers in a fairly small space.
Hello all! Thanks so much for the great suggestions. I ended up going with the suggestion from "Garkarlon" for the space-saving issue and portability of taking the copics on the go!

Again, thank-you all for your input!

So does this mean you found the carrier?! So glad you found something that works for you!! I love mine!!
Karolyn, YES I did find one!!! I went to "Mikes" yesterday and purchased one with the coupon, would of loved one in black but they didn't have anymore! So I ended up with a light green!

I keep them in Ikea plastic containers that hang on those Bygel rails.
Ooh. I'm gonna go buy the containers this weekend! Our local Ikea was sold out, but I just called yesterday and they have a whole new shipment in stock. I plan on using them for my color pencils and other pens, markers, etc as well. I this system since I have a small desk.
Thank you so much for sharing this idea. I went to Michaels tonight and got one with my 50% off coupon. Mine is green with polka dots. They had a black one like yours and a pink one with the same design. The green was the only one with dots. I love it already! It holds all my markers with room to add to the collection and it's easy to move from one place to another.

Hi Gina!
I'm so glad it worked out for you, too! I can tell you that I have nearly all of the Copic colors (with the exception of some of the grays), and they all fit!! So, there will be no need for you to get another solution, because this one is set up to work until you complete your set. And I love that I can carry it from room to room and in the car.
I've changed my holders like 5 times already. First I used a tin, then a cute plastic flower pot, then a plastic storage box, the one of those plastic clear drawers...now they're back in the cases I got them in (the Copic wallets)...lol.

Same here, I have organized and reorganized mine over and over. I just got one of the bags that Karolyn pictured above and I am really liking it. It has more than enough to hold my current collection. I have been slowly buying my Copics a couple at a time. I like this so much because of the handles and the height of the sides. The handles make it easy to move around and the sides aren't so high that the markers get lost and they aren't so low that the markers fall out.
I use the Ciao markers, and when I first got my copics also got some of their storage containers. This really frustrated me though, because since the ciao's are not identified on the top of the caps like the sketch, I had a really hard time finding the colors I wanted. Now I store mine in divided storage boxes, with each color family in its own section. Not the perfect solution, but so far the best I have found.
I have mostly Sketch markers but I also have several of the Ciao. I took a regular hole punch and some labels, punched out a circle with the hole punch and then labeled the cap of the Ciaos.

I keep thinking I'm gonna do this, but in my usual procrastinating style, never get around to it:rolleyes:
It took me a long time to actually get around to getting that project done. I decided it wasn't a lot of fun after the second marker! I do like having the ends labeled though.
Ok, I just got my first copics in the mail today (yea for Fedex Saturday delivery!). I was thinking you had to store copics on their side. It looks like some of you (and the carpediem site) have storage that has them vertical. That's ok, too? I'm going to check out those magpie storage systems at overstock...

your first Copics!! Yay you!! You are going to love them!
I ordered 4 of the Magpies because of this post and I love them!! The cubbies are perfect for Distress ink pads too if you have them as I like to keep them on my craft table in reach at all times just like my Copics. I arranged my Copics in the cubbies by color family and it is a wonderful storage system!

Oh my stars! I have forgotten how much I love to color! My coloring doesn't look like what I've seen on the net, but some of that could be the cardstock I'm using (I've got SU! cs...I'm thinking I'll order some PTI white with my next order) and some of that could be that I just can't see that close-up on the 'net!!

I like Neenah for the Copics but I know a lot of ladies here on SCS like the PTI. Here is a link to Mariannes blog on paper types if you are interested. She is a product specialist for Copic and has an awesome blog about how to use Copics.
Kirstin, thanks for the link! Where do you get your Neenah paper?
*sorry to hijack the storage thread...*
I get it directly from Neenah by the ream as I use so much of it. I like the Solar White and Classic Natural 80# cover weight in the Classic Crest line. Here is a link: http://www.neenahpaper.com/CLASSICCR...ex.asp?ft=Home

I buy mine at the Paper Zone. I'm not sure where all of their stores are located but you can find them online. Check with any good local paper/stationery store to see if they have it or can order it for you.
Ok so after resisting for a while I too just got my first copics - I've been wondering myself - do you have to store them vertically like other markers for best results or will horizontal be ok?
