Oh - I'm so glad someone responded to this TREAD!!! Anyone is welcome to add a post....it's more fun that way
I've recieved a lot of emails asking if friends are welcome to join, even if they are not SCS users. I would say "YES" bring them along. You might want to fill them in on some of the SCS lingo.
Also - ANYONE IS INVITED...wheather your a luker, a member, or a SCS regular. THE MORE THE MERRIER!!!!
I've also made one other update. If you participate in the swap...make 1 extra CARD (not a cardfront) to donate to the Troops in Iraq. We'll have a card box at the entry way to drop them in. THANKS. I've attached a document with more details on this.
PLEASE NOTE That the card front swap has been changed to a SHOEBOX SWAP!
THis will be a whole lot more fun!!!!
Depending on the total amount of guests we will break up into 2 or 3 groups. You will be assigned to a group and will make the swaps in your group. This way you shouldn't have to prepare suppies for more than 15 swaps.

“A Time to Share? Update
Just a few reminders….
Shoe Box Swap: It’s just like getting ready for a Make-N-Take. Have all of the cardstock pre-cut and bring along all of the supplies to make your swap, throw them in a shoe box or container labeled with your name. You will move from station to station making the other swaps.
•Swaps should be full cards made with SU! ink, cardstock, and stamp sets. Non SU! accessories are fine!
•Have a Visual Aid pre-made and add directions if needed.
•NO Embossing guns or other items that need to be plugged in. Thanks
•Bring your own adhesive! Everyone uses their own kind of adhesive so bring your own to bring with you from station to station. You do not need to supply adhesive at your swap station unless it is especially needed for your swap (like glue dots or dimensionals).
•Because we are breaking into groups, you only need to prepare supplies for 14 swaps. Bring your camera to take pictures of the other swaps!
Non-swappers: Bring your stampin’ supplies because there will be a craft table available for you to use.
It’s a great time to get started on your Holiday cards or what ever.
Donate a Card for the Troops: Bring a handmade blank card to donate to the troops.
•The card can be any theme.
•Please also enclose 1 envelope.
Donated Door Prizes: Thanks to everyone who is donating! We appreciate it very much!!!!!
•Please only donate items that would be appreciated by either a Demo or a Non-Demo.
•Door prizes should be placed in a gift bag.
•Also attach a label/tag that describes the door prize and include your name.
Holiday Card Contest: Bring your contest entries to the event!!!
•Each member is allowed to bring a maximum of 5 entries.

I'm so excited - I will get my order on Wednesday, so I can put together my swap Wednesday night! Hmmm, then I'll just have to make my board -and equally important, my dessert!
See you all soon,
Jodi
Wish I had time to make a desert. Instead I'll just enjoy eating them!!!
THANKS to everyone donating Desert &/or Door Prizes! Our event wouldn't be as successfull without them!!!!
An idea: I'm going to make a nametag with my usersname on it!!! Maybe others would like to do the same?!
See you Saturday!
We're already on top of this.
Terri will be printing off name tags with your name and username. We got the kind that have the plastic cover on them...OOOHHHH!!
Than we'll have a table set up where you can decorate them with stamps. It'll be realy simple and kinda bland, so if you want you can still make your own to spice it up a bit!!!!
THanks for suggesting this though!! Glad everyone is sooo excited about this!!!
Lots to do still. Finish a scrapbook, make contest entries, put together another display board, enter names into the door prize drawing box, make a box to drop the Troop cards in, blah blah blah.....UFDAH!!!
If anyone wants to give items to the soldiers or civilians in Iraq and does not have a person to send them to, I have a care package that I'm sending next week, you can bring things to the MN gathering and include your name and address if you want. Paris and I talked about some of the cards from the gathering being included, and some going to the other address the SCSers are using.
Our church member, Mike, is stationed over there and works with communications, so gets to a lot of the different areas. He also has formed an Iraqi soccer team. He said things like shoes and clothes he gives to the Iraqi's, goodies and batteries, etc he puts out for the soldiers and he now has an orphanage connection, so he can bring toys to those children (mostly girls). The people over there are so grateful for the support and knowing they are remembered. Of note, Mike's 8 yo son died after 3 yr bout of cancer in Feb, and he has left his wife, teenage daughter and twin 5 yo girls home in Eagan while he is in Iraq fighting for freedom.
From today's E Mail from Mike:
Hello from Fallujah:
Know, that on this beautiful, crisp, sunny day. The Marines of the 1st
Marine Expeditionary Force, have taken Fallujah, destroying the resistance
and demonstrating the same precision and war fighting skills on this
November 10th that have been written in our history books for the last 229
years. Happy Birthday to all of you who are apart or in support of the
Worlds Finest Fighting Force...The United States Marine Corps. OOHRAH!
Paris,
I can't wait either! Surgery was a success! I'm impatiently awaiting the day I have my hand back full strength. Did you know it's the pits typing one handed?????????

See ya Sat!
Suzanne
Okay - forgive me for not being upto par...but you had carpotunel surgery....Correct? Will you be able to stamp?!
Paris,
Yes, I had carpal tunnel surgery. I can type a little with both hands, but stamping will be another challenge! I think I've got friends that will help me out though. Can't wait til Sat!
I found out last night I would not be able to attend the gathering in Apple Valley...darn, and I was so excited@!
Dh has to go to Hudson in the a.m. for some Rotary training and I have nobody to watch our three kids. Of course I could always bring them.....HA-HA....that was a joke ladies, don't panic! Put me on the list for next time and I'll be sure to get in on the shoebox swap then too.
Hello Suzanne, you do have a friend that will help you out.
I had the same surgery about 8-9 years ago and found it the pits to do most anything when you're in that situation. My DH bought me my very first dishwasher when I had the surgery, so he wouldn't have to do the dishes.
