I did it! I joined Stampin Up as a Demo!!!
Eeks! Well, I've set up my website which may help drive some business but it's quite likely that I'll probably be a Hobby Demo for a while (while I am doing school part-time).
I'm looking forward to this new challenge as well as meeting new people! I'm terribly shy so this may be a good chance for me to step out of my comfort zone!

Good luck to you
I've been a demo (very small business to feed the hobby) for almost 5 years now and I don't regret it at all. PLUS you have this site, which has some of the best info out there.
HAVE FUN!

Congrats on your fun new journey...I joined in 2002 just so I could attend the convention which was being held nearby that year. I had so much fun that I decided right then and there I would never miss a convention! Am finishing up odds and ends getting ready to leave for convention #8 on Tuesday so I guess I am keeping my goal! I have even advised my son (I have 2 older boys out of college, one with a very serious GF) that "late July/early August is a bad month for me" in case they start making any kind of crazy plans! lol!

See? This is EXACTLY why I joined Stampin' Up! Every kind word and words of advice that you all have sent my way mean so much to me and have reinforced why I joined SU. This is a wonderful family and I am very proud to be a part of it!
I really hope one day that I, too, can attend a convention- they sound like soooo much fun!!!
Thank you to everyone!!! :-D:-D:-D

Thanks...I am getting giddy...except for one thing...they haven't even shipped my demo kit. I ordered it last Saturday and it's still showing as submitted. I would have thought for sure that they would have sent it out this week...sigh!!!

yeah, I can understand your excitement, but as it's Convention this week, I imagine there's a slight delay with shipping. Don't quote me on that, but it's a possibility! Hopefully it ships soon! also, sometimes it may say submitted until it's on your doorstep!
My first encounter of Stampin Up I thought, "Oh ANOTHER one of those tupperware type party plan things" Hee Hee I converted (thanks to Dawn5377 and her amazing videos on Youtube) and guess who has been a demo since april and LOVING it! *eating a large slice of humble pie* I especially love the new friends that I have made and are going to continue to make ;)

Well, I hate to be a "glass half empty" kind of girl but I'm feeling a little discouraged as I still haven't received my starter kit. It's still showing up in OEX(?) as submitted. I called SU today and they said it had been shipped but they didn't have a tracking number for me to look up. I don't even think my customer orders ever took this long...hmmmm......

Lesley, I hope your kit came today or will be there tomorrow -- or that they at least find a tracking number for you. I ordered last Monday and was surprised that it took so long to receive it. They emailed me a UPS tracking number and when I checked it seemed like it must have been sent the ultra-slow route. The kit arrived today.
Good luck to you.
