just a hop skip and jump away from being closer to #1!!!
How's that make you FEEL Daven?! Don't think for one second that you wouldn't get asked about your feelings....the members here are primarily women....and we love to talk about feelings
poor poor Daven....you just didn't know what you were getting yourself into . WE LOVE YA!!! and all the other SCS team members too!
feelings, hmm, I don't really do "feelings" too much but, let's see.
excitement, for sure. I'm so glad that what I *imagined* people might like, they actually *do* like. when we started the site I couldn't believe that there just wasn't anything else out there like it. I figured stampers were a natural for this type of online community, where we could bring together a group of people who were already out there and give them a place to talk and also share their creations. we've had an astounding rate of growth and it's been a total kick in the pants to watch it evolve.
stress and anxiety is another. it's been hard on Tracy and our girls to have me working so much. I spend 40-50 hours a week at my day job and it's a handful all by itself. doing this on the side means I don't sleep much and have had to make some hard choices when it comes to deciding how I spend my time. I feel a huge responsibility to all of you. you've entrusted us with your time and passion and I don't want to mess that up. when we've got our perpetual server problems, or I'm not able to respond to all the requests and questions we get, or I've got a bunch of "stuff" I'm just not able to get fixed or updated as quickly as I'd like, it can be downright frustrating. ideally I'd like to quit my day job at some point and pursue some of my own opportunties, chief among them splitcoast of course :^) but I won't really be ready to do that until we can be more assured of replacing my income.
but mostly, I feel amazement and appreciation. amazed, AMAZED at all of you who have made splitcoast your online home and supported the site so well. it's really all you crazy and good people who have made the site what it is and I'm incredibly grateful that you're all here.
and we would be *no where* without those who help out to maintain and run the site. Beate was really the first, when she began producing the technique tutorials. and then Jenn to manage the gallery. they both do other stuff too of course, and we'd be completely dead in the water without them. a big salute to Beate and Jenn for everything. and lots of others. Tom, who has helped me out with server chores that have grown to the point that they're completely over my head. Melissa Capps, who's now producing the tutorials. all the moderators, Britta and Keri and others who keep things safe and sane. all the unsung heroes like Gina (RAK group), Catie and granijani (we're doing a cookbook!) and Keri again (Stamp Your Heart Out) who give tons of time to do the things that make splitcoast unique and great. Laurel, Lisa Johnson and others who have, or are, organizing Splitcoast get-togethers around the country. and don't forget the Dirty Dozen and all those who've contributed to the Fan Club! the Dirty Dozen design team (guest stampers too!) volunteer their time to the Fan Club each month and they've done an absolutely incredible job. or whatever is the next thing beyond incredible. they *agonize* each month over bringing you new and beautiful creations, and they've been oh so successful with their efforts.
Daven,
WE LOVE YOU, MAN! And we all so appreciate that the four lovely ladies you share a home with share your time with us. What would we do without you?
