WT41 - Everyone Welcome to play this Way's to Use it Challenge
This week's Ways to Use it Challenge is to use your Stampin' Write Markers. I bought three lovely sets of these but am finding myself in a rut and only using them for writing in my cards. I need some inspiration ladies....I KNOW there are all sorts of fab ideas for markers out there! (BTW, I'm saving the painty pen for another challenge so just use your waterbased ones this week.) I also found a marker tip sheet saved on my computer with lots of great ideas so I have attached it to this thread. Sorry, but once again, I have no idea where I got it.:(
As always, please remember to put WT41 in your keywords section when you upload your artwork and post a link back here. We all want to see it! Also, if you have any other ideas, tips, or technique sheets for markers, please feel free to post them here as well.
Oh, goody! I love this one. I'll find some in my gallery & post them & then go play.
Julia, that's a great file on marker techniques. One point - under storing markers. SU remodeled the case for the whole set, so now the handle is actually up when the markers are on their sides. (see picture in catalog - page 199). I have the old one, but I cut some holes & moved the handle.
I'm just throwing in an idea for using the markers. directions are in the first card description. I really like doing this for color and it can be done without a background stamp if you don't have one, just place the card on the acetate and see what you get, then add more color if needed. Flower Card Christmas Card Hello Card
Well, I finally got one done. I used pink, which is so NOT my favorite color, but I teach a class of seniors & they seem to love it, so I've been pushing myself to use it. I used smacking acetate (to stamp & then paper) for the background. I've seen a couple of cards on here that used this technique & I loved it, so had to try it. Perfect for this challenge.
Iuse my markers almost every time I stamp. Here's a card I did today combines with the sketch challenge. I love to use my markers to watercolor (scribble on a CD and pick up color with an aquapainter).
I did one using markers for the stamp colors and also wanted a good match on the background so used it there also, but I'd rather do ink pads for that big stamp.
Hi All... this is my first challenge ever... I'm liking this and it keeps me on my toes. Anyway, thanks Julia for your help and hope you all like my card...
Here is my card: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
I hope I used the markers correctly. I didn't see anyone else's samples before I did this card....I will be looking right now.
I used the markers to combine colors on the stamps for watercoloring with a spray bottle mist. Fun challenge. I use my markers all the time. I couldn't get along without them.
I've used the markers to do the "ommit" thing & color in my bug. I even put "dots" on it to make a ladybug! This has three challenges combined. This was fun! THANKS!
I needed reverse paper for the pinwheel challenge. Stamped itty bitties on one side and used a red marker to draw a plaid pattern on the other side. Also colored this with markers and the aquapainter filled with blender pen fluid. Added a few water details with fine marker too.
