Default Oh Wow! Brand New Clear Stamps at Michaels.

Very exciting I think - a new line of darling clear stamps at Michaels. They are called Recollections, cost only $6.99 and they have tons of different sets. All sorts of alphas, occasions, sentiments, cute cats, dogs, birds, flowers - you name it.

I used a 50% coupon and got my cute cat set for only $3.78.

If you are just starting clear stamps, or even just want to add to your collection (and who doesn't?) get yourself to Mikes and check them out.

Here are my kitty cats:

How do they stamp? I've given up buying any Studio G no matter how cute 'cause I can't get a good impression out of them for anything. :(

Hey Annette! Those are really cute! They haven't shown up in the stores up here in Calgary yet, but I'll have to keep a look out for them. They do have the Recollections paper now here and its actually not too bad quality and they have some nice bright colours.

Awww these are cute, you did well, ain't it great when you find a bargain? We have a warehouse stationery store here & I called in on the 'off chance' of something new & they had some cuttlebug dies & embossers for $4.98 - $6.98 & for New Zealand that was amazing I love a bargain! I bought 6.

Good point, Deb. Although these new stamps are not made by Studio G, but by Recollections.

Here is a sample I just stamped. I think they stamp very well! I use a purple stamp mat that I got from Inkadinkadoo, and Versafine Onyx pigment ink.

I've always had good luck with this method for most all clear stamps, and get good clear images even with the Studio G $1 stamps that everyone complains about.

I always have good luck with the Studio G too. I use the Colorbox Fluid chalk inks. I would love to get some of these recollections stamps. I will start looking for them. I have to say I am so glad Michaels is starting to get new stuff. The old stuff was just so OLD...blessings.

I agree. We have several Michaels here, and I was at the point of wandering around with my coupons to no avail. Either I already had it, or I didn't want it.

I'm thrilled with the new stamp sets. There are many, many different sets. Something for every stamping taste. I told the manager how happy I was to see the new stuff.

The store where I found the Recollections sets has a whole aisle devoted to clear stamps - these new ones, and other brands as well.

Me, too. They always look fuzzy and I am not happy, for the most part. There are a FEW exceptions.

Thanks for the sample. That does look nice. I'm going to have to keep my eyes open for these to come to my Michaels. I haven't seen them yet.

Thanks for the "heads up" about new stamps. I, too, have a 50% off coupon that expires tomorrow, so I guess I need to stop in on the way home from work this afternoon.

I got a couple of these new sets at Michaels today and another AWESOME deal. They just put out NEW pads of Prima Nursery paper. It is a huge 12 x 12 pad that is just newly put out. Someone marked them 4.97. The price is supposed to be 24.99! I got up to the check out and the lady scanned them and I showed her the sticker on all the pads I got and she said where is this so I took her over and showed her. All the stacks were marked on clearance and they were brand spanking new...She told me you get them all for $4.97 apiece. I picked up one for me and one for each of my sisters. What a great deal.
blessings.

Yes indeed. You got a great deal. I love a bargain better than anything. I might run up to my Mikes tonight and see if we have any like that!

I went into Mikes and they had expanded the clear stamp area and had tons of new clear stamp sets by Recollections, Inkadinkado and others. I can't afford any new ones now, but I've already got my sights set on a few of them.

They also expanded the Ranger Ink section and put all of it and the Tim Holtz stuff together. I am so glad because this satisfies my fascination with alcohol inks and distress inks and everything else Tim Holtz. They even had two 3 bottle sets of the new Brights alcohol inks. And they added many more distress ink pads. I'm so excited by the new stuff.

This is why they've had the big clearance going on the past couple of weeks. They are really getting a better selection.

I've never had a problem with the Studio G stamps, per se. All clear stamps seem to leave muggy impressions if you press hard on them. I just tap them on the cardstock and it's pretty clear.

So glad you got the doggie stamps. They are really cute. I'm a cat lover first, but I like doggies too.

Well, I went to my Michael's but they didn't have them. They were re-working the stamp section though and said they had lot's of new stamps to put out, so will go back with my 40% coupon I got today. I used my 50% coupon on a cool Tim Holtz stamp set though so I did walk walk out very happy.

Mine doesn't have them yet either. Gives me a reason to go back. I picked up one of the border punches instead.

I didn't see these the other day when I was in, but I'll be on the lookout the next time! I love clear stamps - they're the main reason I got back into stamping.

I'd imagine most Michaels stores will be getting these in because isn't "Recollections" their store brand name now? I say that because I think I bought a pack of black cardstock with that name a few weeks back and it said something about being Michaels brand near the copyright.

Thanks so much for the heads-up. This will be just in time for my birthday next month!

I use clear stamps but I condition them first. Waterbased inks like SU classic ink always beads up. I use a fine sandpaper on them, carefully.
They hold the ink much better.
If you only use like chalk inks then you do not have to do this. I found that versafine is also a great ink to use with clear stamps as it stamps great.

I don't remember seeing that. I know that they have the charms and square/rectangle fragments, a couple of his masks, his clear stamps, some of his metal thingys (can't think what to call them), distress stickles, grungeboard, alcohol inks, distress inks, daubers. I mean the section got a lot bigger. One of the things I want to try are the Perfect Pearls. And they finally have that craft sheet he uses and the mini misters.

I tried using every kind of ink I could think of and the very best for me is VersaFine. It cleans off the stamps really well. I tried sanding them lightly but those $ stamps were just stubborn. I also use Memories Black and Palette Hybrid Black. These are the only inks that don't bead for me.

On our way back home from MI/TN we drove through Pinehurst/Aberdeen and I wanted to stop at the Michael's there, but had forgot and so yesterday I went to the store here in Fayetteville.. I noticed that they expanded the clear stamp section, but had yet to fill it in. I hope there are some new Hero Art sets. I have seen some cute ones, but would love to be able to use a coupon. I went to ACMoore yesterday too and seen they finally reset the stamp section, but no new Hero Art ones and none at JoAnn's either.. maybe Hobby Lobby.

I am going to go back to Michael's in a week or so and see if they finally fill in the stamp sets.. that is a great deal for the cute sets that you all are getting and they appear to stamp nicely as well.

That's the case with our Michaels stores here. We have 3 within driving distance to me, so of course, I went to all
3.

Two of the stores had a whole new aisle with clear stamps, and had all the Recollections new ones, and lots of other brands.

There were quite a few Hero Arts that were new to me. I got a cat set and a dog set. There was a really cute cupcake set, too. I may have to go back for that. The Hero Arts sets were $15.99, but I had a 50% coupon, so $8 isn't too bad.

The third store just had an empty aisle with hooks waiting, but they didn't have the new stamps out yet.

I'll have to check a couple other stores close by. I have about 3 or 4 within about 10 min driving.

Today we returned to Michael's looking for some of the clearanced Sizzix alphabets that are supposed to be down to $9.97.. they were all gone.. but alas, the clear stamps were about 95% filled.. I got two sets.. one was Aliens and the other were Splatters. I made this card with the sets. ~ Pam

**added.. I am going to drive back to Pinehurst tomorrow and see what sets they have.. it's only about a 20 minute or so drive.. I am glad that I went back tonight. thanks again for the headsup on the sets.

Oh, Pam, I love your card! A funny thing is that I was at my crummy lilttle Michaels last week, in search of stickers/stamps/paper/anything with paint splatterss. A gal who was working there asked if I needed help, and I think she must have thought I was crazy for looking for splatters. I went home empty handed. Gosh, I do hope my local store will carry the new stamps. I don't need splatters now (since I went a different direction with my project) but I want the girl who works there to see them!

Hey, I just got back from Michaels and bought that cute little monster set. I saw the splat, too, but didn't think to combine them together. Genious! I'm so going back! Price was cheap enough that I bought the set even without a coupon. Can't argue with $7.99. Needed it for a birthday card for a bday party tomorrow anyway.
