I've started doing the colour and sketch challenges on SCS but now I have a problem! How do you store your ready made cards? I'm hoping to find something efficient and space-saving!

How about those photo storage boxes they sell inMichaels and ACMoore? Some come with dividers that you could write the occasion on, like Birthday Cards, Get Well, etc.?:confused:

you could store them in a forget me not keeper from stampin up, it comes with 12 dividers so you could sort by birthday, wedding, etc. even has a cover so they wouldn't get dusty.
I use a photo box. They come with dividers that aren't quite big enough, but I use the SU round tab punch and glue it on their dividers and it works perfectly. I label each of the tab punches with holidays or themes so I can flip through it quickly when I need a card.
I second the SU forget-me-not keeper. I've tried photo boxes, shoe boxes and a different card keeper from OTC. I like the SU one the best. The others just aren't quite the right size and the cards tend to get bent.

That's what I use. I made labels with my label maker. Works perfectly!

I never knew SU had the fmnkeeper!! That will be on my list next!
I use some RubberMaid containers that I got at WalMart. They have a built in handle on the lid. I put the cards into plastic sleeves and then sort them according to occasion. I can get about 120 cards into each box and with the handles they can be transported easily.

That's a great idea too! I tried the photo box thing but the only problem is the 5.5x5.5 don't fit...

I usally make 12 cards of the same design and then sort them in a large rubber maid container, the one that shallow. They fit great! I get three rows in each and I made dividers for them. I have four and they stack perfevtly under my work table. I have never counted but I would guess about 700ish cards fit in each. There is some extra space to allow for larger cards to be storeed in there too, with three rows there is about 2 inches of extra space. I use that for some small gift cards and it all fits like a glove Now you questions is on earth do I do with all those card? Well I make all these cards then bundle them up and give them away as gifts throught the year, and Christmas wipes me almost out. Happy Stampin!!
I was at Office Depot or Max one day and they had an "end cap" with notecard supplies. I found what is essentially a photo box, but it is sized just right for a standard A2 card. I have like 3 of them filled up. I like them better than the photo box b/c those have wasted space. They were about $5 or so a box.
The best storage device I've found is from IKEA. It's in the kitchen storage section, but the larger size fits A2 cards and envelopes perfectly. The lid snaps on, and the box is clear. I have several of these sorted and labelled by theme.

That's exactly what I use, the photo storage boxes. I buy them when they are on sale and they are great because I stack them on top of one another. I also have shoe box that I'm using at the moment until I can get another one from ACMoore.
My cards are 4.5x6, which is a bit too large for the photo boxes. I use a Sterilite container that has a handle on the lid, which makes it super-easy to transport the cards to craft shows!

I'd like to know where you purchase your plasic sleeves. I keep mine in a sterlite box with a snap lid and handle, and I'm so afraid of cards getting dirty or wrinkled... any suggestions?
I have several ways I store my cards.
I use the clear envelopes I get from either clearbags.com or uniquepacking on ebay. Even when I give them as gifts, each card is in its own protective sleeve.
I also store cards in the sleeves like baseball cards come in but they are made espically for cards. Can't remember where I got them from, you may be able to find them on ebay. When I make cards, I make an extra to keep in there for future reference, or use.
I have the drawers from crop n style...they are a bit expensive (14.99) for 1 but I used coupons. They have 3 sections in each one and can fit at least 50 cards
I also just picked up a floor spinner display from a store closing. I will use that at craft fairs, and am going to make some of the spinners table top so my class gals can "shop" more easily.

Old video cases
I am just starting out and so haven't got hundreds to store, not even 50. My work was throwing out old videos and I grabbed the cases. I tend to make A5 sizes or smaller so they all fit nicely. I label the spine with, Christmas , Birthday, no wording, Japanese etc and I have them up on bookshelves in my ""art"" room. I can see at a glance the type ofcards that are in them. Not sure what I would do if I made larger cards. As I'm from Australia the names of your shops are not familiar to me so maybe an OZ stamper can respond. What would an Aussie girl do to store her larger cards in.
When SU! had the blue tins (the ones that the punch sets come in) on sale last year I bought a bunch of them. I have them sorted by category (bday, thank you, wedding, sympathy, etc.)Since I don't have a lot of cards to store right now, the blue tins work. The only potential difficulty could be that the cards don't stand upright so you have to go through all of the cards to get the one you want. They look great stored on top of each other too!

I got my sleeves on e-bay.
They also have the ones that ATC's fit in.
Storage and display is a continuing issue for me, but right now I have a method that is working. I use the nice storage boxes from HL that are on sale for $2 every other week. They are sturdy and pretty. I made inserts with the occasion stamped at the top. I have three categories- one for my production cards- my go-to for b-day, sympathy, congrats, baby, etc. One for "specimen" cards, you know, the duplicates you aren't going to send or sell because they are just perfect. And one for "any occasion" - ready to be personalized. And, I forgot, the shoebox with my very first challenge cards, when I was learning. I pull out a few every now and then and "re-do". I also keep a card notebook with cards for sale that I can display.

Got 4 of them at Big Lots over 2 years ago, and want more, but can't find them anymore, they are perfect. the tops interlock (blue in color) and there is a tiny bit of room at the top of the cards incase you have something sticking up, so it is great.

I also use the clear plastic shoe boxes, purchased from Wal Mart when they were only a $1 a box. Three of these fit comfortably in a tomato carrier found at the local grocery store. Make sure you get one with side handles. I have over 600 cards stored in 6 shoe boxes, sitting in two tomato carriers. I cut dividers approx 6" x 5", wrote in black marker across the top, the "category". Such an inexpensive way to sort and transport cards. They sit on the back seat of my car or fit comfortably in the trunk. Use scrap paper to cover/decorate the heavy cardboard carrier.
I actually use a stand up turning card stand that I bought from our Hallmark store that was closing and it holds over 300 cards. I also store my cards in decorative photo boxes and label each box by catagory ex: birthday, christmas, easter etc...
I buy envelopes at my locally owned office supply store. They are about the size of the forget-me-not boxes and when they are empty they are perfect for storing cards with dividers for type of card.
I have an old antique card holder with 3 drawers i found at an antiques stores...it's basically like an dresser, but the top part has graduated shelving so u can see the different types of cards and then it has another shelf on top with an old sign saying greeing cards...paid 60 dollars for it...i absolutely LUV LUV LUV it...

Thanks for asking this question...I had mine stored in 2 lunchbox type tins and they were stuffed so I had to move things to different little baskets. I don't know why I never thought of putting them in a photo box :rolleyes: So I've moved all mine to a photo box and have the tins now just for holiday cards.
