Gazelle or Pazzles Inspiration?

I was prettty well decided on the Pazzles after getting so much help from the ladies on here. I may still go that route but when I emailed a question to Scrap Savvy I got a response that they do still sell them but now recommend the Gazelle. She said the company is easier to work with and therefore support us better, it cuts nicer and with more pressure and fewer flaws. I know the Gazelle just came out and am wondering if anyone has it yet and has an opinion?

I have checked out some of the info available on the Pazzles as far available downloads and shapes. I like what I saw, especially the 3-D boxes and containers. So far I haven't seen anything like that available to view on the Gazelle. I don't do much cutesy stuff so I'm not sure what comes with the Gazelle will be my taste. I know I could create my own but at the price of these machines it would be nice to like what comes with them.

It seems the more I read the more confused I get as far as choice goes. Maybe one is not really much better than the other and they are both great?

I struggled with this same question back in the spring when the Gazelle was a pre-order. Ultimately I went w/ the PI because Pazzles has been in the cutter business for years and has an excellent record of service and cutter quality. They also have had years to refine their machines. The Gazelle, which looks like it is also a great machine, is the first electronic cutter for BossKut and I'd rather not be their guinea pig, LOL!

I've been trying to decide about the Pazzle as well. I have the Cricut Expression and a Silhouette. I love the Silhouette for being able to import or create projects. I love the cutting size of the cricut. I had pretty much decided to sell both and the cartridges for the cricuit and go with the Pazzle until I read about the Gazelle. The Gazelle is less expensive, I'm just not sure its as versitile as the Pazzle.

Yes I am concerned about the versatility of the Gazelle and I don't want to be a guinea pig either. Not to mention the kinks that may need to be worked out of a new machine just released.

I am new to cutters and the software. I bought the gazelle recently and am learning to use it. I have had no trouble with 'kinks' needing to be ironed out because it is a newer cutter. I chose it because it is very versatile, can handle many different types of cutting files, was a bit less expensive and the customer support is out of this world. I have posted questions in the evening and obtained replies that night. There is a forum you can check out and ask questions. When you buy one, you can join the forum for owners. Many people on the forum are super helpful. Here is the link for the site.

Thank you so very much. I am happy to read that you are not having any problems and that the software seems to be easy to work with. I have been searching all over the place and have not read a negative remark about the Gazelle.
Have you tried to cut chipboard yet?

I do not recommend the Pazzles Inspiration. I've had to send mine back to them for repairs the entire year I've had it. I just want a reliable machine.

My Cricut Expression is very reliable, I've had it since 2009. If only I could design my own things with it, it would be an awesome machine.

My next try will be the Gazelle.

I like cutting chipboard, .022 thickness, and I need a machine that can handle these types of projects on a daily basis.

If you want to waste a lot of paper and deal with unreliable cutting and not being able to find mats and blades locally, go with a Pazzles. I am not sure about the Gazelle (I assume we have to purchase mats and blades online for that one too). I don't mind having to buy the accessories online, but I do want a reliable machine and Pazzles Inspiration is not it.

I have had my Pazzle and I love it. I have had wonderful help when I have needed it and no problems with the machine. It amazes me every time I use it. I still have my big shot and still use it also.

I have a Pazzles and haven't had any issue with the machine (haven't used it all that much, to be honest) but I find the software is very difficult to work with. The tutorials make it look nice and simple when the experts do it, but I have trouble figuring out what to do or where to click. And I work with computers and consider myself an intelligent person.

I had gone with the Pazzles because I wanted to be able to cut my own designs rather than having to buy Cricut cartridges. If I were shopping for a machine like this today, I would probably be looking at a Silhouette instead.

Traci, I realize your post is from a few months ago, and I wish I had been able to help you sooner. I wanted to check in and see that you got the assistance you needed, or, for people who are reading this post later, that they know where to go for help. We understand that the software can be tricky at times, so we try to make learning as easy as possible.

There are video tutorials built in to the Inspiration Studio software that go along with the accompanying manual. There are video tutorials on our website: http://www.pazzles.net/wordpress/videos . Most of the Fundamentals videos and the Intermediate videos are available for everyone. The advanced videos are for members of the Craft Room subscribers only... but every machine comes with a subscription, either six months free or with a subscription as part of the purchase agreement. I hope you have access to the Craft Room, and if not, consider subscribing! It's the best way to get images and advanced technique tutorials.

There are also our own forums at http://www.pazzles.net/forums/ . Membership to the forums is free. There are a lot of tutorials, tips, and tricks there.

If you decide the Inspiration Studio software is not for you, we know that some people use alternative software such as Sure Cuts A Lot or Make-the-Cut. Unlike other companies, we are okay with our users choosing alternative software. We can't teach you to use it ourselves, but we don't block you from using it!
