remedial heat & stick question

Do I have to use craft ink to be able to use heat and stick and glitter? I want to use the poinsettia wheel in baroque burgandy and then put heat and stick and dazzling diamonds on top of the image. I'm just feeling stupid because I can't remember if I have to use craft ink or not.... if so, do I just buy an empty jumbo cartridge and a craft refill in the color I want? Please help my confused brain. :oops:

just now with the classic ink. It dries too fast. I stamped and immediately covered it with the H&S, and it stuck, until I picked up the cardstock- then it all fell off. So I would say either the versamark or Craft pads are a must.

Could you just use a glue pen and stick the glitter on that way? I would think embossing liquid would work with the heat and stick powder as well.

If you don't have the empty cartridge and versamark/craft ink refill, you could just ink up your wheel using a pad and then roll away. This is a bit more fiddlely to do, but if you're only doing a card or two, it works in a pinch.

heres something you might try.. you can't use the wheel cartridge.. you will need to use you stamp pad and a versamark pad and of course your wheel.

ink your wheel up on the versamark, then ink it up on the baroque burgundy pad.. then roll.. then try doing the heat and stick on that. he versamark will make your color dry slower so the heat and stick should stick.

I think for the most success you will need to ink a cartridge with Craft ink.
If you don't have one, roll on the design, then mask the sides where the design ends, pat the stamped section with VersaMark and put on the Heat&Stick. Emboss and quickly glitter. It is a little more work but not that much if you are only doing a few cards.

Joyce, what you suggested is a way cool idea. I have not tried that yet.

Chantae if you do it Heather's way I must tell you not to do what I have done "without thinking of course". After you have finished rolling on the cardstock, remember if you are making more than one card or one strip to clean your roller and reink with versamark first and then the classic ink again. You have to clean it each time or it will screw up your versamark pad with the Classic ink. You might already know that, but my hands are faster than my mind................. :shock:
