Hi and happy Monday to you all, and for those of us who live in the USA, Happy Memorial Day.
The TLC for today is such a fun and easy one that I'm willing to bet that you end up making more than one of these cuties.
I guess I'm a little behind the times and don't peruse the gallery as much as I should, because these hinge cards have been showing up all over, but hadn't seen them until I was cruising blogland and ran across Wendy Weixler's blog and video tutorial for these simple and fun cards. So, if you're like me and haven't seen these Hinged Cards, I hope you will be thrilled to give them a try. You can view Wendy's tutorial by CLICKING HERE.
If you have already seen these cards, but haven't tried one yet, now is your chance. Just so that you have a reference before you go to view the tutorial, the following is a list of the different card stock pieces that you will need for this project:
1 Base - 4-1/4 X 5-1/2"
1 Bottom portion: 4-1/4" X 3-3/4" (before punching a border) If you don't plan to use a border punch this size would be 4-1/4" X 3"
1-Accent piece, if desired: 1-1/4" X 4-1/4"
Top half (the part that hinges) is 4-1/4" X 3
1 brad for the hinge
If you would like to see my Hinge Card sample, CLICK HERE.

And as always, when you upload your project, please add the keyword TLC222 (no spaces)
HINT FOR NEXT WEEK: Is it a bag? Is it a butterfly?
I never get to play in the weekday challenges early in the morning. wooHoo! I love holidays. Great challenge, Lynn. Wendy's tut was really easy to follow.
I've seen some of these in the gallery and thought they were cute. Even though I'm trying to get over the flu (or whatever it is that I have), I'm going to give it a try. Thanks, Lynn and Wendy!
Just watched the video! Cute idea! Can't wait to make one! I don't own a border punch but I do have some cute decorative scissors I an use to try this for now!
My computer has gone wonky (a technical term) on me recently and I can't seem to view slideshows, videos, etc. I've done every driver/software update out there with no luck whatsoever - even gone through a couple of sessions with HP's online technician chats. Is there an alternate tutorial you could direct me to? (Or if anyone's really tech-savvy, maybe they know what's up with my PC?) I could probably figure it out on my own (the card, not the computer) but it'd save time if I could just see what someone else figured out! Thanks in advance!
Hey Sue, perhaps Wendy will chime in on your question. She may have a resource for written instructions. Sorry to hear about your PC woes...nothing is more frustrating than computer problems.

I wasn't planning on playing today, have food to make for a picnic later on. BUT i need swap cards for demo tomorrow night and I think this will be perfect to WOW them. ;) (Plus I've never done one and have always wanted to) Thanks Lynn and Wendy.
I can't wait to play.........I'm finishing coffee and I'll be ready to play! Thanks Lynn! Happy Memorial Day everyone....remember those brave souls who have and still do keep us safe and free.

Oh, these are awesome. Another technique I've been meaning to do. We had our family get together yesterday, so maybe I can play today, but I have to work around everyone being home for the holiday and in my way - lol. Thanks, Lynn.
I would love to play this challenge, but I still have dial-up internet and can't watch video's. In future challenge could we also include photo tutorials or written instructions? Thanks.

There is a link in post #17 above that will take you to non-video instructions to this challenge.
This looks like a fun challenge and I've been wanting to make on of these cards, so I'll be back later with mine.
Ah - I have one of these by Jan TInk in my favourites because I wanted to give it a go...
Just got to finish up the housework first, though :(.
Thanks, Lynn, I will be looking forward to this.
Here's my first try at a hinged card! Thanks for a great challenge. The first one I've done in a long time! My attempt at the tri fold card from last week is still unfinished downstairs!
Thanks to Wendy pm-ing me to give me a link for a picture tutorial, I was able to finish my card! I'd already started it when I got her message, so a couple of the measurements are slightly different, but all in all I think it's okay: Hinged Butterfly Tea by gregzgurl at Splitcoaststampers
Fun challenge! Thanks for looking...
