Which Foam for Mounting Rubber Stamps?

I made a mistake and ordered an Unmounted Stamp, forcing me to learn how to mount and save$.

Could you please advise what kind of foam to use? Or does the brand not make any difference?

What kind do YOU use?

I'm using acrylic blocks so need the removable foam, by the way.

I use the Original EZ Mount static cling mounting foam and really like it :-)

I ditto the EZ Mount. The cling is strong and it is flexible. The ones that are stiff dont cling as well, and if the stamp is large or it is slightly concave or convex, it will not cling at all. It is very irritating to have your inked stamp poised over your work only to have it fall the last 2 inches onto your nice clean paper.

I store my unmounteds on mirrors. All those mirrors brighten up the stamp room, and make it seem larger. A hand mirror works great for carrying around the selection of stamps you are using at the time.

I have never heard of anyone doing that before. You are going to use them as a flat stamp? You must not have found the continuous stamping of the wheel useful(?). I don't use my wheels a lot. Actually, out of the dozen or so I have, there are only 2 that I have used more than once. It is for coordinated envelopes or wrapping paper that I find the wheels useful. I would be interested to hear if you find you get more use out of your wheels now that you have them off the wheel.

One of those threads, if I'm not mistaken, has people discussing unmounting their wheels. Too many people invest in these things and then they sit unused. I don't use mine because I find them frustrating. No matter what I do I can't get the impression to be as clean and beautiful as when I stamp normally. So, why argue with the foolish wheel? I'd rather use these with my Stampamajig and get them placed just where I want them. Also, I'm a card maker.....I don't need them for really long, continuous runs. When I make my own gift wrap I usually find myself reaching for a regularly mounted stamp.
