LET'S GET TOGETHER AND CREATE, CREATE, CREATE!!!

Ok ladies, if you are in the Middle TN area and you like to make cards, scrapbook and even do altered items this is the group for you.

We try to meet every month to either to scrapbook, do shoebox swaps or even learn a new technique.

We love to talk, yes we talk, and eat and don't forget to bring your Sweet Tea when you come. We also do crafts whenever we can. We have had a great time getting to know each other and we want to keep everyone in the Middle TN are advised as to when the next shoebox swap, scrapbooking night or just fun will be and when.

Right now we have a PJ Scrapbook Night Planned on June 5th Kelly is hosting that at her church
Forums at Splitcoaststampers

We also have a craft day scheduled for June 13th details to follow.

Let's just talk and have fun and most of all create. If you have any questions on how to make an item, do a technique, or even want to get together and swap ideas this is the thread for you.

Remember lets share our ideas with each other and have fun.

So far on the 13th of June we have the following people coming to Create that day.

Sherri
Cathy away on vacation
Kristi
Theresa
Donna
Angela
Pat
Michelle (new she goes to a lot of the crops at Sassy)

If you said you were coming on the 13th please let me know again.

Kelly I could not remember what you said, if you were coming or not. We need to think where we can go for lunch. There are a few places over at the Avenue...maybe if we can come up with somewhere I can call them and try to make reservations.

Now all you have to do is have all of us down to the house when your room is done so that all of us can see your stamp room.

Can't wait until May 2nd, FD in the 'boro.

I am planning on having yall to my house - once my room is done...DH is going to Dallas in a few weeks, but I asked him to please make sure my room was done before he leaves so I can play while he's gone!! Once it's all done, my first project is to unmount and index all my SU sets...I've got a bazillion of them...anyone unmounted before??

Are you going to unmount them to use on acrylic blocks? I know if you put the stamp in the microwave for about 20-30 seconds you can re-adjust the stamp so I guess you could just take it off. I did that once when I bought a used set for a friend and the image on top was not in the right direction.
The only problem I could see is that the back part of the rubber would be sticky. I hope you understand what I was TRYING to say.

Have a good morning.

Sherri - yes, I am unmounting to use on acrylic blocks...not my favorite idea (yet) but lots of girls on here have loved it once it's done...I'm just trying to save space without having to get rid of my lovely's!! I did know about the microwave thing - I'll be peeling the rubber off the sticky foam and block - then will be cutting (with my handy dandy Hot Knife) the EZ Mount so it's sticky on one side (to stick to the rubber) and clingy on the other (to stick to the block)...I will be able to store them in the CD Jewel cases that I bought (in bulk) - which should be a huge space saver!! I'll letcha know how it goes...however, it will be a few more weeks before I can dive into that project....my Die cut station was completed last nigth!!! YAY!!!! now for the big area!!!

WoW we really had fun yesterday seeing all of you again, Kristi, Teresa, Angela, Kelly, Cathy, and hopefully our new friend Candy will be joining our group soon. We really had a good time making all the crafts and page layouts. Can't wait until our next time getting together. I believe the next one is June 5th, at Kelly's church where there will be a PJ all night crop with door prizes and food. Some of us have other commitments, Relay for Life event and other will only be there for a short while but I am sure Kelly would love to have whoever can attend.
Take care ladies and I hope you have a wonderful wet wacky Sunday!

Now that Kristi has mentioned she is unmounting, I think I caught the bug. I found a web site with photo instructions and I am ready to try. Where did you buy your EZ mount from, Kristi?

Sorry I didn't check this post Cathy - I replied to your PM - but for everyone else's benefit I'll post the info here too...I got the CD cases from Rima.com for 200 cases without the cd insert I paid @ $40-45...and the EZ Mount came from ebay - don't remember who from - but I think they have it all the time and it was less than $4 or $5 per sheet...the thought of unmounting is so exciting - just to think of the space you'll save...for....MORE STAMPS of course!!! I'm still trying to work in my room a couple hours each night getting things into their new homes - I'll post pics when it gets done...then I get to start on my unmounting venture!!

After reading all the tips. I have been experimenting with different techinques. I never do anything without careful research. I had read a tip about putting your stamps in the freezer for unmounting, and if you just want to remove the rubber and not the foam, it works like a charm. The rubber came off with ease and no glue remained, so you just stick it right on your ez mount foam. Just trying to help ya'll out.

So, you guys are taking the rubber off the sticky and the blocks. Hmmm, that sounds interesting. I would like to try that. I will look for that ez mount too and the cases.

Great tip Cathy...I'd heard about microwaving them for 10 seconds - but I'm not real keen on putting rubber in the microwave!! I'll be doing the freezer thing too!! You just pass on any other little tid-bits you discover! It'll still be a week or so before I'm ready to tackle the task - so by then you'll be the unmounting pro...maybe you'll teach a class - at my house in August ;-)

Kelly - yes - we are removing just the rubber part - sticking them to the stickly side of the EZ mount (you know - one side is sticky the other side is clingy for clinging to acrylic blocks) then storing them in CD cases...be sure to index them too...and I'm going to number my sets too...so if I say, "hhhmmm I need a flower - I'll grab my index book, flip to the flower section, pick out the flower I want to use - and under the image it will say "blah blah (name of set)" #5 so I'll go to my stamp drawer and pull out CD case #5 "blah blah" and there'll be the stamp I'm looking for!! It'll be a lot of work up front, but I feel like it will surely pay off in organization and ease of use in the future!!

Yeah - Sunshine..I'm thinking hard work...but it'll be great when it's all done! Or at least when it's started ;-).

Hey yall - I saw on a thread on here somewhere that someone found vinyl cling at Michaels for 9 sheets @ $6...so that sounds like a cheaper way - I'll be at M's this weekend and will look for it there!

I am doing some last minute surfin' on SCS before we leave, pull out of our driveway at 2 a.m. heading for the beach. We have a race, my older two daughters think they will beat us there...we will see.

FYI girlies...this Saturday, May 23rd is our last family Relay team fundraiser...it's a homemade Pizza party at my Moms house. Cost is $5 per person - will have all you can eat pizza, desserts and soft drinks. Moms house is up on the mountain - and has paddle boats on the lake and lots of other yard games - we are also planning a hay ride to High Rock - a beautiful bluff overlook for that evening...please PM me if you're interested in coming and I'll get you directions...it's gonna be LOADS of fun!! (and my Uncle - the chef - puts the Pizza chains to shame with his homemade pies!!!)
