Default anyone have or ever seen one of these?

I was thinking this would be a cool thing to put in my stamp room to save surface space (I'd mount it on the celing somehow), so I can watch TV while I stamp. but I'm wondering on the picture quality? I wouldn't want to get it and then hate the picture KWIM?

just thought I'd ask all my knowledgable stampin' buddies.
thanks

Well, I know my dh is itching to get one of these, but I've never seen them in this low of a price range. The ones he wants are around $8-900. Doesn't anaswer your question, but may give a hint as to picture quality of this one?

When I clicked on the link, it shows a dvd projector - with no screen. If you get a projector, you also have to get a movie screen to show it on (unless you have a really white empty wall. I think that you could more easily get a bracket/shelf thing and mount a regular dvd/tv combo on it.

what about mounting a triangular shelf in the corner of a wall and putting your TV on? hubby made one for me in our last house, but hasnt' gotten around to it in our new one. I also had a shelf for the VCR right underneath so I could tape shows and then watch them while I stamp.

I agree with Betsy - I'd be concerned about the quality. We just bought a projector from Dell, and it was over $1K. Never, ever seen one that cheap. Great idea, though.

Some friends of mine have one of these and they used the side of their garage to show scary movies Halloween night! They had lawnchairs in their driveway and all the kids sat and watched a movie while the adults chatted.
Our school does a "Family Movie Night" once every other month using one of these. Friday they are showing Madagascar....... The quality is excellant, especially considering the scary movies were shown on the side of a garage! The one at school is always on a big movie screen, and it's comparable to the theater IMO...
I don't know the names of the system my friends and the school use, but I'll check it out for you and post later....

well, I'd be projecting it on the wall, so I don't need a screen, and I've thought about the tv/DVD thing b-4, but then DH found this and it looks so cool!! and we were kinda thinking that maybe we could pull it out to show movies sometimes too. I know it's much less than other projectors, but it all depends on what you're using it for. so I'm just wondering if the resolution will give a good enough picture for just watching TV and movies at home. it just needs to be clear enough to not mess up my kids' eyes. KWIM?
thanks for the feedback, anyone else? I'm really wanting to know if anyone has this particular projector. thanks
Michelle

Our aunt has one similar to this and you have to watch it in a darkened room or you can't see the picture. Don't know how well you can stamp in the dark

My brother has one of these. His cost a little more and he made his own screen from directions he found on-line. It was great to watch the Texas Aggie game on. Be careful, and check the quality, his cost quite a bit more and the bulbs alone cost over $300 to replace. I'm all for the tv on a shelf myself.

I'd go for the cheaper alternative (more money for stamping!)- mount a regular TV or TV/DVD combo on the wall using a corner shelf or those mounts designed for this purpose. I've seen the wall mounts for under $40 at Menards.
