Is it just me, or does it seem a little slow around these parts lately? So I thought this might be a fun post...explain the story behind your avatar picture. Did you just snap a photo for it? Is it your favorite tv show character? Are all those little tiny faces your grandchildren?
Mine is my corgi, Addison, and yes, it is a real picture. She is looking up at DH, waiting for him to throw the frisbee disc. But when I use it as my avatar, it looks like she is extremely interested in reading what I have to say.
My avatar is a handmade card drawn by my darling granddaughter Faith when she was only 6. I love cats and so does she, so she made me a wonderful purple cat card.
If you look closely, you can see my grandma name "Bugga" on the front.

Mine is a cake I baked for dh's 26th birthday. We love to watch south park when we go to bed. So we have a habit of quoting things they say and I thought it would be cute to do one that we say a lot. He loved it.
Mine reflects my passion for our homesteader history. The windmill was a common site in every yard. Our area in east central Alberta has only been settled just over 100 years, in about 1905.
I decided that I wanted to update my avatar quite awhile back and I came across this crazy picture DH must have taken of me (is it sad to say that I have a few crazy pics of myself to choose from? lol!). I remember the little "photo shoot" when we were playing around with the camera that day but I have no idea what this particular picture was about. I would love to say that it was taken when my DH surprised me with diamonds, but sigh, that's not the case :p. My intention was to only leave it up for a week or so but I got so many PM's from people saying that it made them giggle, so I left it up. Who am I to deny joy in peoples lives? ;)
I think that it may finally be time to put up a new picture though...
Mine is the most recent (last week) picture of my mother who is in the last stage of Alzheimer's. You may find this odd but we are not sad. She has lived a full 84 1/2 years, has four great daughters and 4 granddaughters. We have learned so much about the disease and even though she is not "with" us anymore in mind or body, we have those moments. There are so many great memories and we appreciate them so much now. She has wonderful care at Seven Acres memory care unit in Houston.
Everyone has such a neat story to tell. Mine is of my DH and I, when we went to Northern Wisconsin for a week to stay in a cabin on a lake. We fished and drove around alot to see what neat places we could find. This is one of them.

LOL!! Jessica you are hilarious! I thought it was your reaction when Kelli googled you and showed up at your front door. haha!
<---Just me and my plumeria. DD took this because I needed to send one in for a bio. I read that people associate with you better when there's a pic of yourself. I am loving all these pets though! They are soooo adorable!
My son had and DIL had just sent me a beautiful basket of petunias for Mother's Day and I had set them on a concrete column. I decided to have a picture made beside them so I could send it to them and show them how pretty the flowers looked and how much I was enjoying them. It was just a photo I liked and decided to use as my avatar.

Mine is a photo (taken in 1987 by me) of my childhood kitty, Berries. She died in early 2006, after living to a ripe old age of 19. She was a special kitty and I still miss her.
Mine is of my oldest furbaby, Bailey (I have 4)! He is a yellow lab and will be 9 years old at the end of the month. We've kind of grown up together (I got him when I was 22 and he was 6 weeks old), been though a ton together and I can't imagine life without him!
A good friend of mine made all of these tiny pictures of my 4 dogs with their individual names on them. I thought it would be fitting to choose my "first born" - (LOL) for my avatar! Oh, Bailey also responds to mommy's prince charming...I wonder who started that? ;) ...maybe my dh??? LOL! ;)

You look WAY too young to have a son who is married!
All these pets. I DO have a pet (our fat scaredy cat Desi) but this avatar is not a pet! This is a picute of a moose that was staning in the road in front of our house when we spent the summer in Alaska.
On a side note, you can see that I put my location of beautiful ND. I'm thinking I should change it to "ND - where we have 6 months of winter, two months of floods, three months of road construction and one month of nice weather!"
Have a great day. Thanks for starting this fun thread!
Thanks for asking. ;) My sis, Lisa, keeps getting ticked off that I don't credit her for the photo, but she took it at my breakfast table a year ago, and while I usually can't stand myself in pictures, I like this one. She did a great job.

Mine is me and my DBF at my "made in the 80's" birthday party this year...because we were made in the 80's hahaha. I had a whole outfit and crimped my hair with the hair crimper I had when I was little. BF was a great sport and had a track suit from the 80's (a replica of what the olympians wore, haha). He got WAAYYY into it:-)
Mine is of my Border Collie, Maverick. He loves to sit on the lawn chair and take in the sights. Sometimes he sits still better than at others! He's a crack up of a dog! He's less than a year old in the avatar. I love my Mavendoogal Fragelrock (my 'pet' name for him)!

Mine is because of my Grandson's. We used to watch Sesame Street and Elmo was their favorite, and mine too. They are 10 and 12 now, but, I don't want to change him, I still like Elmo, he is pretty cute - love his laugh!!!

If it's any consolation, us western Washingtons don't get rain, we get liquid sunshine, our summers are usually July and August and we don't tan, we rust. But I'm a transplant, and traded snow for six months of the year for rain 10 months of the year! What a swap that was! More often than not, I feel like a duck!
