Has anyone ever spent hours on a card and it ends up coming out like crap?
* I scanned the stamp of choice into my computer, played with it on adobe (making it large enough to shrink)
* Polyshrink paper printed- colored in tediously with sharpe markers cut design, shrunk it in oven
*Drove to the beach specifically for sand for my project
* went to michaels for the last minute items that ended up costing $90 bucks- just can't get one thing there...
* stamped- getting more ink on me and the table than on the card....
END RESULT... I seriously could toss in the garbage...and it took hours!
Then you have the card that you put zero effort into and it comes out better than a Hallmark- go figure.. tonight was not my night AND I RUINED MY MANICURE!
There is still hope!!! Just because this one didn't turn out the way you expected it to, doesn't mean the next one won't!!! I have cards in my "collection" that I call "EINstein" cards = Experiements In Terror - and the Einstein thing - I thought I was a genious while I was making it, but don't know what happened!!!??? Only to find out that 3 or 4 variations later, they end up as a "WOW!" card. The manicure thing, that's another story! Keep trying - it will get to where you want it to be!!! ~Pam
Are you serious????? My word (I'm shaking my head in unbelief!). It's bad enought to have an off stamping day but then that?!?!?!?!? I'm so sorry Gina, but don't worry, that $90 worth of supplies won't be wasted, good stamping days are ahead and all those goodies will be there for you!
They go through your mail in Austraila? Poor Gina... She didn't even sound greatful she even received a card! Well, we all would be and you can send sand to us!
This is honestly hard to believe!! We love your sand Gina, and all of your efforts! You deserve a huge THANK YOU!!
I must say, I have wondered if I'm the only one who can toil over an idea, then feel like it was a wasted effort.
Your sand is welcome here in the USA!!
~TexasGrammy
wow I did love the idea, can't believe they destroyed it and she didn't even sound grateful that she got a RAK card. I would be very excited to get a RAK (haven't got one yet) I just love the idea of sending the cards out, think I sent out 5 or 6 cards now.. it is soooooooooo much fun!!
Altho I don't think she should have posted the msg she did, I must warn you all...Whenever you send anything that could have seeds, critters, etc living in it, some countries will search it and not forward it on. The reason being invasive species and disease. I know that when you leave CA and cross into Oregon, you can be stopped and asked about any vegetative products you may be trasporting across state lines. This is the Ag Dept way of controlling the spread of invasive species or disease. Altho it stinks, it is about the only way to control the spread of undesirables. And with sand, the Aussies may have thought it could be a terrorist type of thing...think Anthrax.
Now back to her post...I feel that was just rude. She should have posted that the card had been confinscated and so please do not send cards with sand but I really appreciate the thought and only wish I could have seen it. Do you have a pic of it you could email me? Ya know something like that. I hope this didn't happen on the SUGirlfriends site.

I am feeling sad that a fellow Aussie has been so unappreciative of the thoughts that were being sent to her. You were not to know of the very strict quarantine laws that this country has to try to keep out diseases etc.
I just love any pretty mail that comes my way no matter how simple it is - after all, it shows someone has thought of you and that makes me feel 'warm fuzzies'!!
I will not use anything natural on my cards for RAKS overseas - makes them less bulky too for sending.
Have a good day! Cheers, Jean [Queensland, Australia]
