STOP THE RUMOR ... Cuttlebug is NOT being discontinued
Let's put an end to the rumor, please!
Thanks, Boss, for doing the investigative work!

I received a second e-mail from them later the same day that enlarged on the explaination of the first e-mail. The person responding said that they had been noticing a spike in inquiries about the demise of Cuttlebug and they were puzzled as to why it was happening. The only thing they could think of was that they did not take any Cuttlebug stuff to CHA and that some one must have assumed that meant that Cuttlebug was a goner! They did not take Cuttlebug products to CHA because they weren't ready to go to market with them at that time. She said they have LOTS of new folders, etc, coming out in April (? I'm doing this from memory! ) and that the Cuttlebug line is alive and well at Provocraft. So that is what I learned last week and since it came directly from Provocraft I have no reason to believe that they were leading me on. Just my take on the whole "rumor".
That is why Shaun never showed up on the cover of "tiger beat" anymore. bwhwahahah
remember that magazine?
for shame Kiss

Yay! So glad to hear that! I was really dissapointed that provocraft didn't have anything new in the cuttlebug department at CHA :( I was wondering if they were discontinuing my beloved 'bug! I {heart} my cuttlebug!

They are supposed to be releasing new goodies after the Summer CHA... I can't wait!!!
Glad to hear that...did not believe the rumor anyway...they never have these things at the stores around here, always sold out, so why discontinue them.
Thanks for clearing up the rumor about the cuddlebug. It's my favorite, and I was disappointed when I thought there would be no new folders. I did use a coupon to get a second CB, just in case. I'm looking forward to the new folders, whenever that is.

Boss - Ditto on clearing the rumor (Make it stopppp)!! I love my Cuttlebug and was thinking about getting a second one in case my first one stop working. I'm glad to see I wasn't the only one thinking that. Now I have more dollars to spend when the new folders come out.
I do think it's interesting how fast Provo Craft got back to swish this rumor- with in an hour and again the same day.
I've emailed, called - sat on hold for hoooouuurs trying to find out info on the Cricut-first email around black friday- still haven't gotten anything back on that email and it's questions.
Perhaps i should start a rumor about them discontinuing the cricut-i bet they respond to my inquiries then!!!;)

I so understand what you are saying. Believe me, I was fully expecting them NOT to respond to my inquiry about the rumor, knowing how slow they are to respond to other things. That was why I was surprised when they did. I thought it was important to include that info in my post here so SCS's would be aware that the Cuttlebug people considered my question about the rumor important and that it needed to be addressed openly and quickly.
By the way, hope you get your Cricut question answered soon! ;)
I was wondering what they were going to do about the cuttlebug. The local Michaels (and a Michaels and Joannes in Georgia) put quite a few of their dies on clearance. At first I was happy, I got some good deals. Then I was worried that they werent going to make anymore. Glad to know they are just coming out with new stuff!
Th anks for the research. I've been considering purchasing a cuttlebug, but was hesitant because of the posts here at SCS, suggesting its being discontinued. I guess now I look for a coupon or sale. I love the swiss dot embossing folder, and of course I want nesties too.

That's the case in my area too. Michaels got rid of ALL the Cuttlekids dies and the machines. They got rid of a good deal of regular dies too. They have very little on display anymore, and it's not like they have empty pegs set for new merchandise. Shoot, they never did get any of the "new" embossing folders--the second round ones that came out maybe 2 years ago?
I would absolutely buy more CB products if I could find them in a B&M store. I like the folders, but I don't want to pay shipping when I only buy 1 or 2 at a time.

Thanks for posting this link! I didn't even know that there was a Provocraft Cuttlebug blog! :-D:-D And 11 new A2 folders in July and 3 new border folders and cut and emboss folders....sigh....I'm thinking happy thoughts now!

My Michaels put all of the dies on clearance but not the folders. I got my niece the cuttlekids machine and all of the cuttlekid dies they had on sale.
well i know i was concerned cause i bought the coluzzle then was told that was being discontinued which still breaks my heart cause i love my coluzzle and then i heard that rumor about the CB i was starting to think there was something going down at provo cause my local Michael's wasn't getting anything new either! awesome to hear they are still continuing to make wonderful products for us!!! and looking forward to gettting the new folders
The Michaels's around here haven't had new Cuttlebug items in about 2 years. Honestly! They don't even keep the old items fully stocked.
I hope they carry the new stuff, but I'm not holding my breath. I probably won't wait for Michaels & Hobby Lobby to get around to offering them, though, and will buy online as soon as they become available. I love the embossing folders. They're what got me hooked on papercrafting. I was strictly digital before that.
I would literally cry! Cry, I tell you, if the rumor had been true. I haven't found one machine that I love as much as my Cuttlebug. Don't want a Cricut or Wishblade or any of those. Just my Cuttlebug! Love it!
And I know who Annette is. I watched all the Beach movies...yes I did! She has MS ya know.
And Elvis was a hound dog, but Gene Simmons has always been a little chihuahua (can't stand him anymore).

Yep, and people pass on a lot of cr-- that is on the internet like it's Gospel. Give me a break. Check your facts before passing it on. Thanks for the post. GLAD it's not true. Don't want the machine but love the folders to use in my Sizzix.

I am so excited, new embossing folders!! I guess it is time to start saving again for when they all come out!
I also just did a survey on the Cuttlebug Challenge blog from Provo asking us what WE want to see! I know larger plates for longer dies is on my list! Here is the link in case you are interested!
