Default WT36 ***Play Along**Ways to Use It Challenge!

Well this is my fourth try so I hope it works!

It seems that everyone around here must be like myself....very busy getting ready for the holidays and for the most of you today...celebrating them. So this week's challenge is a very easy one that we all should be able to do. This week's challenge is to use your TEARING EDGE or just plain use your hands to tear the edges. Maybe think of new ways to incorporate tearing into your cards.

Please remember to put WT36 in your keywords section and to post a link back here so that we can all see your work.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my American friends! I wish I were celebrating Thanksgiving again instead, my kids are celebrating a school cancellation due to snow squalls.

Thanks so much ladies for keeping us all in your thoughts and prayers. My mom is finishing her 3rd week of interferon treatments tomorrow. It is really tough going and she is just exhausted. the first week was absolutely awful for her but she is just taking it one day at a time and getting through. She is now getting a bed at the clinic for the three hours it takes to get her treatment instead of a recliner and this is helping her get more rest. The one good thing about needing all the rest is that the constant swelling in her left leg is going down. She has one more week of daily treatments at the cancer clinic and then will get 11 more months of treatments three times a week. This will be by injection at home and the strength of the medication will be about 2/3 of what she is getting now. Hopefully this will make her life a little more managable and she will be able to enjoy Christmas. I have been finding it difficult as I am only 5 minutes away but was unable to see her for the first couple weeks of treatment because my two littlest boys were ill and we could not risk exposing her to it. My aunt had been absolutely fantastic taking on all the responsibilities. Thank so much your interest,

Julia - Please remember to take care of yourself too. I hope your Mom will feel better once she starts the home treatments. I think any time you can stay out of a hospital setting you're bound to feel better.

Here's a card I did yesterday:

Julia,

You and your mom are in my thoughts. I know her fragile condition is as hard on you as it is her. After all, she is your Mother, the person who can leap tall buildings, whip up a hot meal in the blink of an eye, and sooth hurt feelings or a broken heart,etc... I know it is heartbreaking to see her so ill. I've been there. Keep your chin up and do whatever it takes to give yourself good care and relieve your own stress. It will give you so much more strength to be there for her. OXOXO

I tore some paper!
Here's my card

Julia, from experience in being a care giver myself to four terminal cancer patients I do hope your aunt is getting some relief whenever possible. It's a very hard situation to watch and when it's a sibling it makes it even worse with it being such a close age to your own. I wish you all well, and most of all I wish your mom comfort!

I did a very simple card last night for SC48 and then looked at the Ways To Use It challenge and one of my cards fit this challenge too.

I have tried since 9AM to post this here......

First of all, Julia.... oh my.... I was sad to read about all that your mother (and family) is going through. I said a prayer after reading it.... I will write it down to try and remember her/you again in prayer. Until we are 'there'.... I don't think we can truly understand how hard it must be. I think the "one day at a time" approach is best! God bless you all!
Now... I saw this challenge and thought of this card I had hanging around. I never really liked this particular card, but the idea is a great one. I always wanted to try it a few more times.... with different stamps. I decided to post it.... just to put the idea out there.

I combined this tearing challenge with the black/white LSC and had lots of fun! Here's my B&W Torn Poinsettia card!

Thanks for looking and for the great challenge, Julia!

I just uploaded a card today using the CC37, but it also has a tearing edge. Enjoy, Nancy

Julia, I want you to know that I say a prayer for your mom every day. It is never fun going through all the chemo, but the good news is that there is an end and she will be back to normal after all of that. I know that is hard to believe during the tough times you have all been through, but it will happen. Love to you all, Nancy

Although I don't do it a lot, sometimes tearing paper is just the thing a card needs. Here's mine:

This is my combined challenge with LSC39...I don't have a tearing edge (yet), so I like to run a wet paint brush down the card and tear for a "feathered" look.

Heart WT36 That's a framed lizard

I had so much fun using up my bits of pretty paper on this card, with a McDonald's fry box for the background. I love animal and flowers die cuts and stamps, so there's plenty of those, with some purses and even high heels thrown in the mix!
