I have never used SU whisper white, but from what I've read on SCS it is NOT what you want for copics. I like the GP for copics and since I'm usually layering the thinness of the cardstock is not a problem. I just bought some of Gina K's thick white cardstock for one-layer cards with copics, but haven't tried it yet. I'm going to try to post a link to Marianne's blog where she compares different papers. I have Gina K Pure Luxury cardstock, and I believe it is the best. I do not use Copics, but I have heard it is great for those. I usu. use Prismacolors with gamsol, and it is great for that! Also, if you have a stamp with lots of detail, you will not lose any of the fine lines with the Pure Luxury CS, since it is very smooth, without being glossy.
I have tried SU WW, PTI White, and Gina K pure luxury white with both Copic's and Prisma pencils, and my personal favorite for both is Gina K cardstock. I use Memento Tuxedo Black ink and it goes on very nice, I have never had it smudge on me yet, I am even able to get a clear image when I stamp my Thomas Kinkade stamps. I use the Gina K for layering because I still like to use the PTI cardstock for my card bases. The SU I use mainly for layers now as well. Gina K prices for her cardstock is resonable as well and she has shipping insentives, OH and my favorite thing with ordering from her besides great service is the M&M's that come with your order.
I like the Papertrey. I've not tried the Gina K but I hear it's fantastic.
For my copics I also LOVE Strathmore's Smooth Bristol. (art section, yellow pad) The problem though is that it's not a white/white. But my copics do blend sooo nicely on it.

I just ordered some of the Gina K Pure Luxury 80lb weight to use with my copics. I had read the thread about copics and Mary Anne from "I Like Markers", said that this was a good paper because you don't use as much ink, which I guess if you're using a 110 lb weight you need more ink to have it soak through the paper.
There are TOO many choices, aren't there? Don't even get me started on the Neenah paper. They have different SHADES of white, don't they?
I've used my one little Copic on the SU cardstock and like it just fine. I'd get something else if I wasn't layering, but I always layer.
My fave is Neenah Classic Crest Solar White. It's smoother than PTI, but the 110 lb is just as thick. HTH!
I've tried this CS and love it too. I've also tried PTI's, SU!'s whisper white, Bazzill Smoothies white, WalMart's Georgia Pacific, the Bristol White mentioned above, and most recently CC Designs Copic Quality white (from All That Scraps).
Hands down my #1 favorite is the CC Designs - it's almost exact to the Neenah Classic Crest but a slightly different shade of white.
Worst is SU!'s whisper white - I pulled it out yesterday to try and do something with it and EVERYTHING smeared on it. I ended up tossing it in frustration and worked on something else!
I have just tried Hammermills Color Copy Cover Paper and I really like it. I got a bunch of the 60 pound. It is REALLY thin, very smooth and takes next to nothing to soak it through to allow you to blend. I don't mind the thin, because I am not making the card out of this, but just layering it on other cardstock. It was MUCH cheaper than the Neenah where I got it.
I am new at the copics, but that is my experience.
I just bought a pad of the Copic paper. Haven'd been able to stamp on it yet though, but the copics do not bleed through. Haven't tried blending on it yet though.
I ADORE PTI card stock with my copics. I started with GP and it worked just fine with the markers as far as smearing is concerned. It just looks cheap. I tried the PTI and fell in love the minute I opened it and felt it. I kept my fingers crossed that the markers didn't bleed. They didn't and I decided why try any other.
I'm tickled to death with my pti but still want to buy the Gina K just because I LOVE buying supplies. I also want to buy some of her black card stock.
If you mass produce you might want to buy the least expensive...GP. If you have a little extra money you might want to go with what everyone else tells you. I know for a fact that PTI works with momento and brilliance ink. I'm sure Gina K's must work as well because she has a huge fan base and I don't think she would sell you anything that she didn't approve of. She's a mighty nice lady.
No matter what paper you use...make sure your ink has dried for a while before you color.
When using my Copics I use the GP paper, which is a big deal...I have to get my mother to ship it to me....no Walmart in Japan.
Now I am using Prismas too, oh my gosh I tried the papertrey and I am not sure I am every going back
White cardstock...so many choices.
