Splitcoaststampers.com - the world's #1 papercrafting community
You're currently viewing Splitcoaststampers as a GUEST. We pride ourselves on being great hosts, but guests have limited access to some of our incredible artwork, our lively forums and other super cool features of the site! You can join our incredible papercrafting community at NO COST. So what are you waiting for?
This week we are accenting our CAS cards with dots. Whether you use a piercer or a marker, they are great additions to bring bring balance to a card or highlight a focal image.
Yes: Piercing, dots made with markers that looks like piercing No: Cuttlebug dots, dotted patterned paper, pop up dots (You can use these, but they shouldn't be considered your accented dots on your card. Use a paper piercer or marker.)
What is CAS?
The idea of CAS is to keep it Clean and Simple.
Definition: A clean and simple card has limited layers and sometimes just a card base. It leaves a lot of "open space". It uses little or no embellishments. Any techniques should be the old standard everyday kind like sponging, distressing and piercing. Limit the number of tools you use. Any colored images should be small and quick. Don't go overboard on tons of punches and embossing. CAS cards should be easy and quick.
Many of you have been PMing me about the location of the CAS challenge. New challenges start here and then get their own forum when we see that it will be successful. I think we're on the right track! I'm loving this and I can tell you are loving it too! Hopefully soon we'll have our own sub-forum with the other weekly challenges ;)
Uploading: Remember the keyword is without spaces. Use a comma between keywords with a space after each comma.
If you are new to the challenges, please feel free to do this one or ANY of the challenges at any time. There is no time limit. They are not races to see who can do one first, nor are they contests of any sort. All the challenges are simply to provide inspiration and to get us stamping!

This is fabulous. The cards that are posted are Awesome!! I can't wait to give this a try this week. Thanks for this challenge idea and the forum for posting.
I am a CAS gal at heart.
What do you mean with pop up dots??  Looks like a fun challenge, so I am going to think about a card! I have something in my mind, but I am not sure if it is allowed. :p

They are dimensionals to pop up a layer. You can use them, but they shouldn't be considered the dots on your card. You should be using a piercer or marker to make dots.
