I can eventually 'find' them, but I honestly think they disappear for awhile. The other day my son was trying to help me find a thread. We went post by post over two pages. Then I just looked under my name for 'other posts by' me. Found it that way, and saw exactly where it should have been, went back to that forum, and it was NOT showing. The first time it happened I thought my screws must be looser than I thought! I don't know what's going on, but since my son confirmed what I was saying, I know it's not just me.
Anybody else had any trouble?
Yes, I posted a new thread a few hours ago and have been trying to find it. I thought perhaps a moderator had moved it ...... but I'm still searching. I very rarely post, so I'm not sure where to look!
I just upgraded my Firefox browser and ran into the same problem you are describing. I think it is related to caching.
In IE7, it is easy to set the option to not use the cache. It's under Tools > Internet Options > General > Browsing history Settings button > radio button for "Every time I visit the webpage" > OK.
In Firefox, you have to set it through the about:config interface. That's an advanced operation, so I'm not going to describe it here. But I think what happened is that I was viewing a cached version of the forum index pages instead of the live version, and that's why certain threads were not where I expected them to be. My problem cleared up after changing the setting to force Firefox to reload the page on every visit.
Christine posted while I was typing. Since more of you are having the same problems, maybe my browser upgrade was just coincidental.

Laura, is this your missing post? Forums at Splitcoaststampers
You can find your most recent posts by clicking on your name in the left column and picking "Find More Posts by cardsbylaura."
LOL I thought I was the only one having "issues" ;) There've been a few times recently where I've posted in threads and they "disappear" when I go back to find them. They show up eventually tho......
Wow! I'm so glad it's not just me! Thought I was losing my mind a few days ago. I kept refreshing and looking and nothing. I can always find the lost threads by doing a search, but I swear they weren't where they were supposed to be!
It's happened to me, too! I swear that thread was there, then gone for about 5 minutes, then back again, right where I had been looking! I thought I was losing my mind... Glad to know it's not just me!
What bugs me is when I have a question I'm asking, and I'm looking for the reply. If I can't find the post, then is anybody seeing my question?
Well, this probably doesn't have anything to do with it in these cases. But when I was a moderator on a site with multiple forums, and we moved a thread to the "correct" forum there was a slight delay if we left a "shadow" thread in the original spot (but when clicked on or viewed from the destination forum still was the same thread). Probably a different issue, it was not as big as this site. Ghost in the machine? ;-)
I thought it was just me! I was "losing" threads that I'd posted in -- I'd scroll through pages trying to find them. Finally went into my subscribed threads and they were there but who knows where they "really" were!
