Default Albums vs Member's Gallery

Has anyone created an album. What is the purpose of this album? How is it different from the member's gallery. I assume if I forward the link to my gallery to any of my friends, they are able to view it? Or do they have to be a member of SCS.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello!
Anyone can see anything in your gallery if you forward the link to them. It's easy to share! www.splitcoaststampers.com/go/rachel43 will do it! You don't have to be a member to view the gallery, but membership does let you see some neat things that you don't see if you're not a member!

Anything that you upload can be categorized by SU! set, technique, type of project, etc, and will also remain in your member gallery. This is great because when someone is looking for ideas for a specific set, your stuff will come up if it has been put into a category.

Anything that you upload to your gallery will have detail fields. This is not an option in an album, so your items will not come up in a search (at least I don't think they would since there are no fields to search. . . )

Albums can be password protected, your gallery cannot be.

I think that Albums are great when you want to have all of one type of thing together - like all of your calendar pages, or all of your RAKS.

Personally, I load everything to my member gallery, and skip the albums.

Good luck!

look at Beate's gallery for a great example of how albums can be used:

Thanks for your responses. As ever you guys are great. I'm a fairly new demonstrator and I accidently came upon this forum about a month after I started with SU.

I have found it to be a very informative, interesting and very funny site. I love using the gallery for project ideas.

Thanks again
