"Mad-City Madness": A Madison Area Splitcoast Gathering

Who: SCS Members & Guests (limit 1 guest per member) - Max. 40 people
What: Shoebox swap - a fun day of stamping
When: Saturday, March 28th, 2009
Time: Check-In/Set-Up - 11 am. Stamping from 11:30 am to 4:30 pm (I need to be cleaned up and gone by 5!)
Where: Prairie Athletic Club, 1010 North Bird St., Sun Prairie, WI 53590
Cost: $25 per person
What do you get for your $25?
You'll come away with up to 40 new card ideas! Your entry fee covers lunch, the cost of the room and fabulous door prizes! And of course, a lot of laughs and great company!!
Anything else?
What....that's not enough? Anything left over after expenses will be donated. I will split it between Splitcoast and Imagine A Child's Capacity. ICC is a Madison-area, non-profit organization providing a variety of therapies for children with various special needs. My middle son, Zack, has autism and receives occupational therapy from this group. If you'd like more information, please PM me and I will provide you a weblink.
What do you need to do?
Design a card & supply enough materials for everyone to have one. You will bring 1/2 of your cards pre-made and we will make the other 1/2 that day. Because I am an SU! demo, I ask that all materials used be current SU! products - from the 2009 Spring/Summer Idea Book and Catalog or dormant list. If you have questions about this, please PM me.
What else can I do?
There are 5 additional swaps that are completely optional: Card Front, Anything But A Card, 6x6 page, 3x3 card and Lottery.
Card Front - simply that....make a card front for everyone who participates
Anything But A Card - make one for everyone who participates
6x6 page - any theme - make one for everyone who participates
3x3 card - full card - make one for everyone who participates
Lottery - create one fabulous, hand-stamped item and you'll go home with one!
Anything else?
Stamping is always better with chocolate. And other munchies too. If you'd like to bring a dish to pass, please let me know. Lunch from Jimmy Johns will be provided.
We'll also do the garage sale again. Bring your "gently loved" stamp/scrap items priced to sell. SCS TOS will apply - so no current SU mdse - only retired stuff can be sold. Current SU can be traded.

Can't make it, but want to "participate in spirit?" Send your goodies along with a friend! To do the shoebox swap: you must send all of your cards completed - cost $15 (to cover the room and your door prize).

Mad-City Madness is one of my most favorite times of the year!!! Has anyone heard from the Speed Stampers, Jenny-G or Heather? They always have the best garage sale stuff.

I did not make it last yea due to the weather after signing up and my friend Laurie took my shoebox along with my swaps. Then being the great friend she is, along with Tracy's help, made all of the cards for me and I got an awesome box of swaps!
Is this the fourth year or the fifth year for Mad-City?
hmm...that's a good question. We moved here in June of 2003. I signed up as a demo in May 2004. So, I think I would have done the first one in 2005??

Hello all! I have the paperwork for the room. Fee went up a little (not much...), so I just need to evaluate the costs (including Jimmy Johns...whose prices have also increased) and make sure I don't have to raise the fee.

I thought that it might be the fourth year, and that sounds about right. The first year I drove down from Appleton with my friend Cindy, then the second year I drove down from Appleton with my friend Sara, and then last year I drove seven minutes from the other side of Sun Prairie!!
I can't believe it's been that many years already...wow...

Hi y'all! I have the room reserved. I will hopefully get the reg. forms posted sometime this weekend.
I apologize for the delay, but it's been a rough few weeks at my house. My middle son, Zack, has autism. He's had a very hard time the past few weeks. When he gets off schedule (not sleeping, big meltdowns, etc.) it throws everyone else off too - resulting in a severe lack of sleep for me! I'm hoping that he's on an upswing again and that I can get caught up this weekend.

Thanks Mel. This happens with Zack every once in awhile. He gets REALLY effected by the weather - and that deep cold snap we had a few weeks ago just sent everything off course. They cancelled school that Thurs and Fri - then we went away for the weekend (wedding Sat and baptism Sun - both out of town). Then they were still off school that Mon. for the MLK holiday.
Poor guy just had no idea what day it was or what he should be doing. Typically, he can bounce back in a day or so, but this time it's taking longer.
I love Sam's curls too! Just can't bring myself to cut them off ... no matter how many times someone tells me how cute my 'daughter' is

Hey Mel, I do have one of those snowblowers and if I could drag it up on our flat roof I would! we shoveled it off 4 times this winter so far:twisted: thank goodness we have had a break for awhile[knock on wood!]

This swap was the talk of the table today at Culvers among the CURDS. We are all looking forward to it! I brought stuff from past swaps to show everyone the cool stuff you can end up with. Several off us were at past Mad-City swaps already so there was alot of "OH, I remember that". It was really so much fun!
