For every fifteen cards you complete, allot yourself $20 to spend on supplies. That way you're using your stash but able to shop as you go! (Adhesive is NOT included - you can buy those whenever you need to do so)
If you're a scrapbooker, every five layouts would be $20. If you're big on altering, every ten altered items would be $20.
Put it on your profile and keep it updated on how many you've done and how much you've spent. For instance:
If there's anything special to you - like envelopes - then simply figure out a "value" and add it to your list. But come up with the list now and carry it through the year!
This is a great idea! Great way to balance the spending and the making...right now, I think I spend way more than I make. I also want to get better at actually sending out the cards!
I'm not sure I really want to see how much I spend...that might be scarry!
Well, I didn't do so well with the last Stamp to Spend. I definitely spent way more than I used. So, I reset it, and am going to try again.
I'm doing 1 card = 1 dollar just to simplify things. I also liked adding in the exercise element, even if it doesn't use up supplies.
I got off to a good start today by not using any of my coupons for Michaels or AC Moore. They were in the car, and I went to the bank, and just drove home instead of continuing on to the craft stores!
I already made up an excel spreadsheet - last night. I was busy making cards last night, so I am almost to $20 earned! And since I have been sick the last few days, no spending either!
I'm going to have to join this! I bought so much stuff last year and hardly made anything! I think I'm going to stick to $1.00 per card and $5.00 per layout (although I doubt I'll do many of these). How does the exercise part work?

OH! Will you share?

Okay, I'm in on this one! I'm doing the Christmas Card Challenge, so there's 10 cards right there each month...plus it'll give me incentive to actually USE all the stamping stuff that I already have before buying more...AND I'm working on a scrapbook for my parents forst 50 years together so I'll be doing quite a few layouts for that, too. Hopefully I can rack up a bit of money to spend soon! ;)
This is a great idea! My dh should go for this also! I think I will also do $1 per card and $2 per layout or altered item. Maybe this will motivate me to make more and use up this growing stash before shopping!

I'm new and want to do this...but I just assumed we keep track on our own...like in the signature line. Is there really some official place to "sign-up"?
No, there is no official place. Consider yourself signed up! Welcome, and good luck!!
As far as the exercise goes, I thought 10 minutes was worth a dollar, so when I go to my one hour aerobics class, I make six dollars!

Using your signature to help-
I need to include the exercise part too!!

I normally make 15 - 20 cards a week and work out 4 hours per week but I normally spend a heck of alot more so many this will help me keep in line with what i am spending...
Hey what was the exercise earner again. I forgot. I am trying to make that an incentive. lol
Oh and if you belong to the penpal group, let me tell you we are so prolific (sp) at writing we you can make a lot of cards keeping up. I have to make 10 cards today to go with the letters I wrote last night. I love my PENPALS!!!!
I'm definitely in!! I spent $1000's this past year and don't have too much to show for it :( Working in a really nice scrapbook store doesn't help! Anyway, I'm doing (6) 30 minute workouts=$20; (6) layouts=$20, and (10) cards=$20 (I could barely buy a card for $2, so this seemed more reasonable to me). I'm starting today
I failed miserably on this last year; but it did get me to think more often about
using what suppllies I have; and a goal for theis winter, especailly designer paper to be used.
my self control is terrible

Okay, I've decided on my breakdown: Cards 20 = $20; Scrapbook pages 4 = $20; Altered items 4 = $20; Wishes granted & mailed 20 = $20; and a themed mini scrapbook 2 = $20. I think that covers all I make. This should be very interesting, very interesting indeed.
I'm giving this a shot this year as well I tried last year and wasn't very disciplined and fell off the wagon pretty quick. Hopefully this year I'll make it to March ;)
I'm starting as of today as I plan on scrapping tonight once the little man goes to bed.
I was going to do this on my own, but decided I needed to be part of the group to honor my commitment. I will pay myself $1.00 for every card and $2.00 for each scrapbook page since I don't use a lot of embellishments.
