Default Texturz/Cuttlebug question? Take pity on me...

I know there are umpteen different threads about what will work in a Cuttlebug. But I just got a Cuttlebug for Christmas and am just beginning to explore the possibilities. I have printed off the file that gives all the sandwich instructions.

I am also just getting my feet wet when it comes to SU! So I am not familiar with much yet. All I know for sure is that I could drop a ridiculous amount of money in a short period of time! LOL!

What I am wanting to know is....Will the Texturz plates work in my Cuttlebug? What type of 'snadwich' would I need?

Again, sorry if this is a repeat question (no doubt) but there are so many pages of info to go through. I am hoping you will take pity on me.

Ummmmm......there really isn't a short answer to that! Yes they will work, "but......." LOL! You do need the extra set of pads (the silicon rubber one and the Impressions pad). Way back when, I got mine with the Big Impressions Starter Kit that was available from Ellison/Sizzix. The set consisted of three texture plates and the two pads. These come from SU or Sizzix. And I did use them in my Cuttlebug.

The rest is a matter of figuring out the exact "recipe" to get a decent impression. It might be just one piece of extra cardstock as a shim, it might need something thicker like chipboard. I have to say that the impression I got wasn't as pronounced as I've been finding with the Big Shot. Mostly because in order to get a really deeper impression, I worried so much about how it was affecting my Cuttlebug (like, was it gonna break???) that I eventually quit using them in there. Not that it DID break, just that I kind of worried about it...

So, as I said, lol...no short answer. I'm more comfortable using them in the Big Shot (since that's what they're made for), but they will work in the Cuttlebug, if you're not fainthearted, lol...

they'll fit? I saw someone's blog where she demo'd them but it looked like that they may be too wide for the Cuttlebug as they measure 6" by 7 1/2". Guess I'll wait until I've seen someone demo the texturz plates with the Bug.

I don't have my Texturz plates yet, but I wrote down the directions from another thread a few days ago so that I can use them with my bug when they arrive. The directions were as follows:
Lay down in the following order -

A plate
Texturz embossing plate
cardstock or patterned paper
tan mat
C plate

Hope this works!

Texture plates are NOT embossing folders.

I use mine a big shot, and they look "ok". But not a crisp image like a folder.

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to wait to order them until I know for sure that they will work.

Right, they are not folders, but you get the embossed look with them. I've seen some cards made with them, but I haven't gotten my plates yet, they are on order.

Can anyone point me in the direction of some cards made with the Texturz plates in a Cuttlebug? I'm working on my SAB order and was thinking about getting a set of these plates.

I had mine work once through the CB and it came out with a crisp and clean image. I just spent an hour again trying to figure out how I did it and I should have written it down. When using the Big Shot and the directions provided, my Texturz plates don't work at all so personally, I'd save your money.
