Are you ready for the 3rd challenge in our IFC contest?
This week we our going back to the roots of the IFC. It originally started out as the Scrapbook Diva Designers challenge hosted by Elliesmom. Each week she would pick a new Diva for everyone to scraplift. When I took over in August, I changed the name to Inspiration Found Challenge and continued with featuring scrapbookers for the first ten or so challenges. Then I began to mix it up a bit looking for inspiration in idea books and magazines.
Since I've been a member of SCS I have always admired the design work of Mousey'sMom AKA Gina.
Gina has a unique style and is the queen of distressing- one of my favorite techniques to use on a scrapbook page. You can find Gina's gallery HERE. You can visit her blog HERE. Gina has been a guest designer for Scrapdango, Ally Scraps, and I Am a Scrapaholic. Currently she is on the design team for Scrap-Tastic. She was also a featured artist this month for the E-zine publication ScrapStreet.com. You can view the article and her featured work HERE. Thanks Gina for all the inspiration you provide us here at SCS!;)
Your Challenge:
Browse Gina's SCS Gallery and find some layouts that you admire then scraplift them. It's that simple.
For contest purposes, all layouts submitted for this challenge are worth 30 points if submitted by Sunday, January 25th 2009. After that you will receive 15 points.
Bonus points:
-Complete and upload your scraplift by Tuesday, January 20th 11:59pm EST and receive 60 points.
-Be one of the first 3 members to upload your submission and receive 50 bonus points. (you can only receive these bonus points for your 1st submission)
-Keep scraplifting! There is no limit to how many layouts you can submit and each one is worth 30 points through next Sunday!:p Please Note: This challenge may not be combined with any other IFC contest challenge(IFC21, IFC22). You may still play the previous challenges but to be awarded points you must create a different layout for those challenges.
Please use the keywords IFC23 for all submissions for this challenge.

Gina does great work so she so deserves this! I have found my page that I'd like to scraplift and hope to complete it in between loads of laundry and housework.
Oh boy, did I have fun browsing her gallery! I chose to scraplift her LO names "Ezekiel." I loved all the circles on foam dots. I took that and made my LO with flowers. I had so much fun with it. Great challenge! It's uploaded to my gallery.

I wonder if Gina would do a tutorial on distressing. I have never done it but would love to give it a try.

Great idea Barbara. I tried distressing my paper edges for the first time last week, and it didn't go so well. I kept tearing it. I eventually mastered the straight edge, but continued to have trouble with my circles. If anyone has any pointers, us novices would love to hear from you. :0)

Thanks for linking that up for the Lela. If anyone has any questions about distressing that I didn't answer there please feel free to ask...I'm no expert but I'd be happy to share what I've learned. Foremost of which is....embrace it if you rip the paper...don't freak out! lol.
You girls are ROCKING this challenge...you are some seriously speedy scrappers too!!!!
Here is another and may be my last for a while DH is being admitted to hospital tomorrow for surgery and I will be doing my nursing job at home rather than at work for awhile. Maybe I can scrap while he is resting..... Pieces of you case by princessp1971 at Splitcoaststampers

I wish Liz!!!! lol. That's my goal for this year...to be published in a PRINT magazine...all that I've been in so far have been e-zines. I did submit much at ALL last year....like once or twice to a print mag...so hopefully this year is the year! lol

Hello Ladies! I'm just now checking back in since I posted the challenge for 2 reasons; first- I knew you would just love Gina's work and be overwhelmed by all the selections to choose from; secondly- I knew this challenge would be a tad bit more challenging than the others. Gina does an awesome job with distressing and her layouts are all fabulous and I know we are all not distress queens like she is but remember, the challenges this year are going to be all about getting out of your "creative comfort zone"!
