Hello from Iowa!
Hello! My name is Angela Ploegman and I've come to learn how to stamp like a professional!
I'm a crafty type, mostly altered items, scrapbook pages and cards, but I lack skill in the stamping category...so, my 2009 scrappy goal is to develop this skill and HERE I AM!
Can't wait to learn all the tips and tricks from you talented ladies!

Hello as well. I"m from Iowa too. I love the place (as I've lived here most of my life), but it is lacking one thing and that is good scrapbooking stores like Archivers.
Sorry I needed to vent for a moment.
This board has been a great find, as it has helped inspire me on occassion.

Newbie too
Ploo, Tracy and Mexcio.... I'm jumpin' in on the hello's too! I have been checking out the site for a couple of months. I decided that part of my 2009 Me Time resolution was to get in 2 full VSN's this year. Never done one. Just started stamping about 4 months ago. Found I really enjoy having some creative time again.
I work full time as a management employee at a local government agency. I have DS (19) and 3 step kids (9,7,4). So no time during week, every other weekend is total kid time, AND BF and I love to fish so I rarely have a weekend that is not an adventure. I'm not complaining, I am blessed that my life is so full. But I am dying to get to spread my paper, stamps, embellishments, etc... out on a Friday afternoon, and wallow in them until Sunday! Ah... a whole weekend of challenges, card making.... Heaven I tell ya!
Needless to say, I am excited to be here! Gonna go get educated in the VSN Threads!

Hello
Hi everyone, Growing up I spent my summers at my grandparents in Farnhamville, Iowa , what fun that was! I sure miss those lazy summers full of excitement and the lessons of life my grandpa talked about. He also made "lightning bug" rings for us kids. Awwww the memories of times long past.
I have been in Minnesota for many years now, but Iowa will always be home to me.
I am married-27 wonderful years and have 3 daughters and 2 black Labs
I am taking some college classes to "better myself" out in the real working world; and lovin' it. I work part time and try to make time to create in my craft room. |

Hi and a big welcome to you Angela. The more you practice with stamping the easier it becomes. I think we tend to suffer with a bit of stage-fright in the early days. Am I pressing hard enough, have I pressed long enough, can I lift it off now? If you try stamping on same cardstock off-cut first you will have an idea what works before you do your 'real one'. Enjoy. You will be as good as they get before you know it. |

A shoebox swap is when you come up with a card, cut out the supplies and then put those (including the stamps and ink and EVERYTHING needed to complete your card) in a shoebox so that everyone signed up will be able to make one of your cards. You will in turn get to make one of everyone's cards, so depending on how many sign up, that is how many you will need to provide for as well as get to make and take home of theirs. |
