LSC35-Limited Supply Challenge #35
It's Friday and time for another LIMITED SUPPLY CHALLENGE!! Im your guest hostess for this week and I'm very excited to be hosting this last time before Jen officially takes over!
Remember what it was like when you first got into stamping and before you had a menagerie of embellishments? Let's see what everyone can come up with when you are limited to non-traditional embellishments! When you upload your card to the gallery please put LSC35 in the keyword section and post a link to this thread so we can all go look. Everyone is welcome to play -even if you've never done a challenge before...please join us!!!
Inspiration for this challenge: All the neat cards that you see that use a pop can tab, a paper clip, an old earring, or something funky for background paper!
So here is the challenge: Use any stamps, any ink, any color cardstock. The twist...you may not use any traditional embellishments! No brads, eyelets, ribbon, hodgepodge, dimensionals, patterned paper, buttons, etc. Anything that you would find in a stamping/scrapping catalog or store for embellishing is OFF LIMITS! Use your imagination...raid the trash can or your craft/sewing supplies. Try an old earring, some googly eyes, pipe cleaners, rick-rack, yarn, Monopoly money, puzzle pieces...whatever you can think of! Staples and paper clips are OK, as long as they are genuine office supply items, and not from a stamping/scrapping supplier!
The Supplies:
Stamps: Any set youd like
Cardstock: any color or combination of colors you'd like, but no patterend papers!
Ink: any inks you'd like.
Accessories: see above
Techniques: anything goes!
Below are some samples that I made this evening, one after the goblins had come and gone from my front porch! I found it a little difficult, because I kept coming across things that I wanted to use, then remembered I couldn't! I actually started putting dimensionals on the back of the pumpkin piece, then tore them off and used leftover rubber trimmed from a new stamp set! Also below are some links to other great examples I found in the gallery!
I hope everyone enjoys this idea and will play along! I'll be anxious to see what you can come up with! Thank you Jen for your advice, and thanks everyone for playing!
my samples:

and
Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
from Jen70:

Good luck to Jen, who takes this challenge over on a weekly basis as of next Friday! I'll be looking forward to whatever you come up with next week!

I like it! Hmmm... how many Diet Hansen's Sodas did I drink this year just to get the RED can tops for Christmas cards? Looks like I have some work to do this weekend!
Thanks for the challenge!

A stick fence
This was fun... I looked in my drawer of "STUFF" that I keep for no reason at all, and I found some little craft sicks. First thought was "fence posts," so then I went to find an animal to put in the field. Here he is...

Here's mine. I goofed and put ribbon on the tag (duh! -it was stuck down before I realized my mistake). I used a Chistmas pin that I plan on putting on cards for my bowling friends for Christmas.

Jeanne, your card is awesome, and the ribbon is so tiny...we'll just say it was a scrap, and that can kind of count! I was really hard to not want to add some ribbon to my candy wrapper card last night! I kept thinking it needed something more.
Kelly, great job with the poker chips!! It's awesome! I had to scroll down to know what they were. At first I thought it was some kind of candy! Thank you EVERYONE for participating!!

What a totally cool idea! I think my card for last week (or the week before, something) was something like this...I wanted to use something "different" so I popped up a layer using skewers...I'll have to have another go at it later this week. Thanks!

After much consideration I have decided to take a stab at this. Well the real reason is Tammy basically said she expected to see all of her friends do it. It only took me two days to come up with this. So here goes.
Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
P.S. I could not think of any embellishments but I struggled with the paper for a very very long time.

Thanks Tammy, this was a fun challenge and I'm trying to come up with another idea for a second card. You sort of pushed me into doing one I had in mind for a long time. So here it is...
Reality Check Cow!
After reading the post below me I did an edit to say...
Thanks Tammy for the compliment, but I have to give credit to the stamp designer for doing such a cute cow. Her name on the stamp is Tina Mae and she is a cutie for sure.

Tammy, This was a fun challenge. I had some cute yarn and thought it would look good as a scarf for Frosty. I used shelf liner for my snow. It is always good to take a step back and try to make things without using all the "goodies" we're used to.

I decided to do another card. I had set aside the liner from a can of cocoa... I know, I know ... it sounds goofy. Anyway, I had been thinking that the shiny aluminum would go with the Classic Convertibles, so your challenge inspired me to see what I could do.

Way cool idea for the cocoa can lid!! It goes great with the car theme!!!
I hope a few more people will happen along and decide to give this a try later in the week! OK, this will sound mushy, but I literally have teared up, I just appreciate so much that so many of you participated! I was SO nervous on Thursday evening, thinking "this is a dumb idea...no one is going to want to play along with this challenge!" Thank you, thank you, thank you! everyone for participating from the bottom of my heart! You've all made my week!!!

One more for me and still thinking! I did buy one of the items I used just for cards but that's not what it's made for, but hey...I'll try anything! The piping string I've had for more years than I can remember and my husband says I'm a pak-rat but I found a use for it, didn't I!
Here's the card

Rox... That is so CLEVER!! Love the way you looped the cord. About being a pack rat... I just bought an enormous spool of cord. White nylon for fishnets. I'm sure that someday it will make a good "rope" to go with a sailboat stamp. But I'm also sure that the spool contains at least 10 miles of cord. What will I ever do with the rest?.... save it, of course! I may find another use for it someday. signed PackRat II
Anyone with curiosity.... A sort of similar challenge might be starting on a weekly basis. HERE's the info.... Forums at Splitcoaststampers The difference would be that Karen would post an object and we would all come up with different cards using that same item. Sounds interesting.

Great Card! I love the challenges. Sometimes I'm really not able to do one. Maybe I don't have the materials, or the skill, or the time.... But it's always fun to see what the rest of the gang are up to.
